Large self-catering air-conditioned apartment minutes walk from beach.

A spacious and sunny one-bedroom, self-catering apartment on the first floor (lift access) with spectacular sea views from the large balcony. Ideal for summer holiday rental.

The apartment has air conditioning/heating in the living room / dining room and bedroom. There is ample parking in the complex.

It is excellently equipped with high quality furnishings throughout.

The apartment is fully cleaned prior to your arrival and there is a mid-week clean when the towels are changed.

All visitors will be met by our local management company who will be delighted to deal with any questions you have. They will also be able to deal with any problems you may have during your stay and are on call 24 hours a day.

Welcome bottles of red and white wine and water are provided on arrival.

St. James development was newly completed in 2006 to a very high standard. The complex is located in the heart of Praia da Luz village and just 5 minutes stroll from the beautiful wide sandy beach. Boavista golf course is only 10 minutes drive away. There are beautiful walks along the coast from the apartment.

St James development is a delightful, upmarket low-rise apartment complex located close to the centre of Luz and just five minutes walk from the main wide sandy beach which is patrolled by lifeguards in the summer season. It is even closer to a smaller beach behind Fortaleza da Luz. The complex offers stunning panoramic views of the ocean.

There are two pools, one for children and a children's play area. The pools are surrounded by large decked sunbathing areas set in beautiful landscaped gardens. There is a restaurant in the complex. There are also many restaurants and shops close by.

This fabulous appartment has the WOW factor from us ...Its tastefully furnished ,immaculately clean and has a fantastic sea view from the balcony ..The complex has 2 pools ,one for adults and one for children..This property was recommended to us by my son in law and daughter who have a 2 bed appartment on the floor above ..(it was booked for our 2 weeks ).It is properly maintained and has everything in it you could possibly need..The owners Heather & David had supplied us with cold beers ,wine and water which was very welcome after our journey..and a lovely personal touch..From booking our holiday right through to our leaving day the owners could be contacted via phone ,text or email and their contact in Luz ..(Joao) was also available if needed..We were met by Joao late in the evening on arrival day , he's very friendly and helpful..The towels and bedding were regularly changed during our stay..THis appartment is a fantastic base in which to explore the surrounding areas.Luz has fantastic safe,clean beaches ,some lovely restaurants that serve amazing food .Check out Look steak cafe the steak is to die for .we went there the first night at 10.15 and they served us. Hannah the waitress gave us a bottle of milk for a cup of tea in the morning ,because everywhere was closed.The new beach restaurant Paraisio serves very good food as does the Galley .There is a bus service into Lagos usually on the hour check on line ,Lagos a beautiful place to go too full of fantastic places to eat .The owners have a folder in the appartment packed with information on nearly everything in and around Luz.This is an appartment not to be overlooked..Thank you Heather and David we will definitely be booking your appartment in the future..

The only place to stay in Luz

We are just back from yet another holiday in this most wonderful apt and we love it as much as ever. It is so beautifully maintained and perfect. Each year, we see some new additions and upgrades and it is lovely to arrive into a freshly painted and spotless apartment. It is managed by Joao and Maria and they do simply an amazing job. Heather and David make booking this apt so easy and as aways so helpful and accommodating,

We go back to this apt year after year because of it's comfort, the magnificent views from the balcony which gets sun all day, and the great location. It's a short walk to lovely Luz beach and restaurants, bars, shops etc are all minutes away. We do rent a car and love travelling west to Sagres, Martinhal, Burgau and Beliche.....all beaches well worth looking for. Make sure you take a walk down to the end of Luz beach by the black rock, ideally about 8am when it's quiet and cool. The views are stunning.

Thanks again Heather and David for making our holiday wonderful. Please also pass on special thanks to Maria and Joao who ensure ongoing five star standards! We are already planning our next visit.

Excellent Apartment

The description of the apartment on the website says it all - a very well presented apartment furnished to a high standard, and with everything you could need in terms of equipment.

There was plenty of information provided about the local area in the apartment, including some local maps, and we found the "library" in the sideboard most useful (and were happy to add to it over the course of the week).

Whilst part of a larger complex, the apartment is on the very end of the building/complex, and facing outwards towards the sea, so pretty quiet and very private.

The location is ideal, with a large balcony which not only looks across to the sea, but which enjoys the sun for majority of the day, the apartment is just a short walk to the beach and restaurants making it an ideal base, yet far enough away from the main centre for some quiet time.

A couple of Supermarkets within a short distance for provisions, and plenty of bars and restaurants for eating out.

Juao, who manages the apartment locally was at the apartment within 5 minutes of our phone call to confirm our arrival, to let us in, show us around, and explain everything (including where to pay the motorway tolls).

This was our first visit to Luz, and not being sunbathing addicts, we particularly enjoyed the coastal walks – the coastal path to Burgau starts just across the road from the apartment and is perfectly manageable; slightly more challenging is the walk into Lagos (the climb to the clifftop out of Luz is pretty steep), and you do have to use the roadway for the final section into Lagos due to coastal erosion).

A very pleasant and relaxing stay, thank you.

lovely apartment in a nice town

Had a great 11 nights in luz, apartment and complex very nice and just a short walk from town centre, with a choice of nice restaurants and a lovely beach, with just a few bars makes it a very relaxing place to stay. Will definitely be coming back in the future and would recommend to friends and family

Fabulous as always

We have stayed in this wonderful apartment many times and it remains our favourite in Portugal by a mile. It's bright, fresh, spotless and has the mist amazing sea view. It has all the little extras you need like a great new HD TV, lots of UK TV channels including bbc, itv, channel 4 etc., great wifi . I absolutely love the wonderful view from the balcony. It gets sun all day, but has a lovely big umbrella to ensure shade. For us this is the perfect apt. We dream about staying for a couple of months in the winter when we retire. It is the perfect spot for a winter stay. Meanwhile we have already booked for next year. Thanks Heather and David.

Praia da Luz is a traditional Portuguese village situated on the western Algarve coastline just 50 minutes drive from Faro Airport. Nestled between rugged cliffs and the picturesque village of Luz is a stunning white sandy beach and a pleasant promenade beside the ocean. Ideal for couples seeking a relaxed atmosphere, Luz offers many restaurants to choose from as well as supermarkets, banks, post office, and shops selling traditional Portuguese ceramics. There are a number of excellent walks which start from your doorstep. Golf courses are within easy reach and the bustling town of Lagos is just 10 minutes drive away, Lagos offers an impressive marina and extensive beaches with many shops, bars and restaurants along its quaint cobbled streets in the old town.

Golf: There are numerous golf courses within a short drive from the apartment. The nearest course is Boavista which is less than 10 minutes drive away. It also has a driving range and practice chipping and putting areas. Other courses nearby include Penina, the venue for the Portuguse open, it also has 9-hole resort course, 9-hole academy course; Park da Floresta, Palmeras, Alamos and Morgado and Espiche.
