Excellent Stay

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this cottage. There was more than enough room for our family (5 adults and one dog), with a short walk down into Port Isaac itself, however the steep hill back up was too much for some of us!

Lots of space for walking the dog with public footpaths nearby and quiet enough to happily take her out around the property.

Lovely location - it was easy to get to and from Port Isaac, and also places further afield. We would recommend this property to family and friends and hope to stay again one day.

Lovely , well equipped cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned home from a truly lovely week in Singing Cottage.

The cottage was beautifully presented and well equipped with just about everything you could need - we felt very 'at home'

Our grandchildren enjoyed the selection of toys provided and the 'Wi' -a lovely thought- and had we needed, a good selection of beach things.

The cottage is in an ideal location, walking distance to Port Isaac!! and lovely beaches within an easy drive . We also walked some of the coastal path experiencing fabulous views.

All in all we had a lovely time and would love to return in the future.

Thank you for allowing us to share your cottage.

Beautiful, well equipped cottage

  • 5 of 5

Singing Cottage was beautiful and very well equipped. There were lots of lovely touches throughout to help make a family holiday as relaxed as it can be. My son, aged 5, absolutely loved the bunk beds as well as the excellent choice of toys and games. The grown ups were very impressed by the reading material and information about the area which was provided in abundance. Everything has been well thought out with beach chairs, games, parasol, etc in the cupboard. The only things we felt might've been useful were an indoor sweeping brush, as we couldn't seem to find one, & perhaps a BBQ so you could enjoy the stunning views while cooking! The cream tea was a wonderful surprise on arrival too & the personalised welcome postcard was a lovely thought. The whole cottage was beautifully presented with everything you could need in the kitchen too. Location was great, lovely and quiet but only 10-15 minutes into Port Isaac on foot. Yes it is a steep hill but one expects that in Cornwall & with an age range of 5-64 we simply took it slowly! Overall a fantastic break was enjoyed by all with Singing Cottage being a beautiful, peaceful base to explore Cornwall.

Where were the bunk beds from as my son would now like some and they were perfect?!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review. So pleased you had a fantastic break and were able to relax and enjoy the peaceful location of Singing Cottage. Thanks for the advice about the sweeping brush - will put one in the hall cupboard. We have debated about having a BBQ and it is certainly something we will review for next year. Glad the bunk beds were a success - they are from Cost Co with John Lewis mattresses. Thank you again for taking time to review your stay at Singing Cottage. Kind regards.

Fantastic Holiday in Singing Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week's holiday at Singing Cottage. It is situated at the top of Port Isaac amid lovely green fields but is only about a 7 min walk down the hill to the village . It is really peaceful with lovely views across the fields to the sea and has plenty of carparking which is a massive bonus. The cottage is immaculate. It has been newly decorated and is extremely clean and beautifully presented. 7 of us stayed in the cottage and there was plenty of space. The garden is south facing and was a real suntrap - ideal for sunbathing during the day and enjoying an alfresco supper watching the sunset in the evening. It is an ideal base for a visit to the north cornwall area - Port Isaac is lovely but does get busy - hence the massive benefit to be able to walk to the village rather than have to drive. There are several good restaurants - we went to The Old School House, The Golden Lion and The Mote which were all very good. Port Gaverene is only a short walk away and has a lovely pub overlooking the small bay. I would definitely recommend this cottage - it would be as good to stay in during the winter - there is a log burner which would make it really cosy. We will be returning !!.

From the property, guests can walk straight out onto the coastal path and access some wonderful walks, or head down into Port Isaac where restaurants, pubs, shops and freshly caught fish may be enjoyed. Also enjoy the Fishermen's Friends singing on the Platt on a Friday summer evening. Nathan Outlaw has two award winning restaurants in Port Isaac and there are many other eateries to enjoy - the Slipway and the newly refurbished Mote in the centre of Port Isaac or the Inn at Port Gaverne are all personal favourites. Other places to eat nearby are the Longcross Hotel at Port Quinn where you can enjoy lovely food and wonderful costal views.

There are many beautiful sandy beaches nearby, including Trebarwith Strand, Daymer Bay and Polzeath, – all popular for surfing and body boarding.

Rock is also very near offering a wide range of water sports and sailing club. From here, you can sail around the estuary or catch the ferry over to Padstow - a charming working fishing port surrounded by glorious sandy beaches, where a day can be spent shopping, eating out and watching harbour life.

From Padstow, families can hire bikes and enjoy a day out cycling along the Camel Trail, which then runs through the pretty market town of Wadebridge to Bodmin.

Golfers can enjoy a range of excellent courses including The Point at Polzeath, St Enodock in Rock, or the Trevose Golf Club in St Merryn.

Singing Cottage offers an ideal holiday base for a winning combination of sailing in Rock, surfing in Polzeath and shopping in Padstow.
