Close to the beach and golf courses, this modern apartment is in the beach resort of 'La Barrosa' to the west of Chiclana de la Frontera, furnished to a high standard and is located in the beautiful area of 'Pinar del Atlantico'. La Barrosa beach is reached by a 15 minute stroll through a wooded country park with picnic and games area. Chiclana town centre is less than 10 minutes drive away and offers all the amenities and facilities you would expect in a prosperous Spanish town as well as some fine examples of Andalucian architecture. The apartment has an enclosed private patio, complete with garden furniture. Access to the patio is through the dining room or the rear entrance gate.

Climate, Beaches and Chiclana: Climate: Hot summers and short mild winters.

Coast/Beaches: La Barrosa beach is just a few minutes drive from Chiclana and has been awarded the prestigious clean seas 'Blue Flag' every year since this programme was founded. At over 8km long, with its clean golden sand and gently sloping beach, La Barrosa beach is where the Spanish people choose to holiday. There are also plenty of restaurants, café/bars and pastry shops to suit most tastes.

Chiclana: This traditional Spanish resort town has pedestrianised cobbled streets, lined with cafes and shops. The river 'Iro' running through the middle of the town; lovely architecture and churches with stork nests on top. A bustling indoor food market, a bullring and a weekly outdoor market. Chiclana is a prosperous working town with all the facilities you would expect.

Getting to Chiclana: Jerez de la Frontera is the closest airport and is a 45 minute drive away. It is currently serviced (Daily Flights) by the budget airline 'Ryanair' from Stansted. Ryanair also fly to Seville.

On your arrival: We can meet you in Chiclana, or collect your party at one of the Spanish airports (please enquire about the additional cost involved), and take you to the apartment.

We are on hand locally to assist you : You will be provided with a set of keys and everything in the property will be explained to you.

Once you are happy we will leave you with a phone number so that whenever you need help or information, we will be on hand to try our best to assist.

There is undercover secure car parking.

Quiet getaway in Chiclana

I cannot praise this apartment, the owners or the area, highly enough.

When booking the apartment, we were kept well informed of our payments and details by the owners, and on arrival to Chiclana de la Frontera, we were greeted and given the keys to this lovely apartment along with a welcome pack of Wine, Bread, Butter, Milk, Tea, Coffee...etc... all the essentials. The environment of this apartment was lovely, the grass is cut 2-3 times a week, and kept well watered. It is also quiet and relaxing. A short walk from the apartment takes you to La Barrosa beach, which is quiet during the week, and fairly busy with Spanish families at the weekend, all very much enjoyable. La Barrosa beach is wide, long and very clean, the sea water temperature isn't boiling, but it isn't cold either. A little choppy, but fine for a paddle or a dip. On the way back from the beach, there are a few bars and restaurants, not enough to be overcrowded, and not too many to feel like a resort, just a good mixture.

The area of Chiclana de la Frontera is around 10 mins drive to the beautiful Cadiz, and an hour North to Seville, with Jerez de la Frontera on the way. Although, you can find all the sites to see, and information on other local attractions in the handy booklet/draw that the owners have put together with all the sites to see.

Other great points on the apartment are that is has a very well kept kitchen, with all the appliances you could possible need. The living area is comfortable, and you have access to Spanish Cable TV, as well as a large selection of DVD's. They have also left a considerable amount of music if you fancy listening to something whilst eating dinner in the large patio area at the rear. The bedroom is also light and airy, and totally comfortable. The remaining 2nd bedroom/living area is exactly that, with a pull out double bed for guests.

All in all, this, for my wife and myself was the perfect holiday. There isn't a high number of English or Germans tourists, the resort is predominantly Spanish. The restaurants are good, the people are friendly. The area is close to the cultural centres of Andalusia, and there are plenty of beaches and sunshine. You really can't go wrong. A very nicely priced getaway, thank you.

Chillaxing Week in May 2011

This is a cosy ,comfortable, private apartment on a very well kept small complex. Well equipped and furnished with a pleasant outdoor patio. Within easy reach on foot to a lovely long sweeping blue flag beach via a walk through umbrella pine woods. The surrounding area is developed in a low key way with good spanish resturants, bars and cafes run by friendly courteous staff .There are plenty of interesting places to visit ranging from historical cities to pretty hilltop villages, ports and beautiful countryside.

Commumications with the owners was excellent as was our welcome from Eileen. All in all a very pleasant and relaxing week after touring round Andalusias famous cities.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Jerez at 45 Kilometres Nearest Beach : La Barrosa at 500 Metres Car: recommended

The apartment is located in the modern small quiet 'urbanisation' of Pinar del Atlantico. A supermarket, golf, shops, bars, and restaurants are all within a 5 minute drive (10 minute walk) to Novo Sancti Petri. The beach and sea at La Barrosa are magnificent (Blue Flag beach), which is a 5 minute drive away (or 15 to 20 minute walk through a lovely local pine wooded nature park). All buildings and hotels are low-rise with no high-rise developments allowed. Upmarket shopping can be found in: San Fernando; Cadiz; Jerez; and Seville . There are many Bodegas in Chiclana (which is one of the five main Sherry towns). Local attractions include: Flamenco Dancing and Horse Riding displays.

Other Activities: Wine tasting (sherry town), Fiestas, Shopping

Golf: There are some excellent golf courses within a five minute drive away at Novo Sancti Petri.
