Casa degli Archi is a cozy apartment with independent entrance, on the ground floor of an old cottage, located in Dosso (CHARACTERISTIC COUNTRY VILLAGE 4.5 KM FAR FROM THE SEASIDE OF LEVANTO TOWN NAMED "THE GATE TO THE CINQUE TERRE". The apartment consists of a bedroom with two single beds (or a double bed), a living room with a double sofa bed (width 140 cm) and a well equipped kitchenette, with natural gas stove and electric oven, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster and kettle, a moka express coffee maker, 2 bathrooms with shower and wc and and a beautiful little garden among the olive trees where you can eat and relax. THE HOUSE CAN ONLY BE REACHED ON FOOT FROM THE FREE PUBLIC PARKING AREA (ABOUT 60 METERS FAR FROM THE HOUSE - A SHORT DISTANCE BUT A BIT STEEP). Only 15 families live in Dosso all year round and some of them still take care of the olive trees and vines and oil and wine can be purchased from them, if the year production was rich enough. In Dosso there are no shops and cars are forbidden: they must be left in the free public parking. It is an ideal place for those who love the peace of the countryside but at the same time want to discover the Cinque Terre and the beauty of the Levanto beaches. With only 15 minutes car you can reach the center of Levanto and its beautiful beaches. Here there are also shops, boutiques,a cinema, cafes and a large number of restaurants and pizzerias. Every Wednesday there is an open-air market of various items and every day a fruit, vegetable and fish market.In summer there is a bus service between Dosso and Levanto but FOR A MORE COMFORTABLE STAY A CAR IS NEEDED. The Cinque Terre are easily accessible by trains that leaving from Levanto railway station and stopping at Monterosso (after 5 minutes), Vernazza (10 minutes), Corniglia (20 minutes), Manarola (25 minutes), Riomaggiore (30 minutes). Wonderful walks connect Levanto to the Cinque Terre villages and to each other; also from Dosso you can take beautiful walks: in particular we suggest to go hiking from Dosso to Monte Bardelone and Soviore Sanctuary and eventually going on until Monterosso and also from Dosso to Lavaggiorosso and Monte La Rossola from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the coast. A short walk leads to Lavaggiorosso (20 minutes on foot - 5 by car) to "Da Zita" restaurant for a dinner with a typical menu of the countryside. From Levanto, in summer, there is a daily boat service to the Cinque Terre and Portovenere; there are also special events: classical music concerts, antiques and crafts markets, fireworks and religious parades (16 August), tennis tournaments, etc. Levanto is also very popular with those who love surfing and windsurfing. Located just 6 km from the A12 motorway, Dosso is a good starting point to reach various cities of art: Genoa, 80 km away (74 of which on the highway - it is possible to organize a guided tour of the city, its historic center and the Aquarium ), Pisa 102 km away (98 of which on the highway ), Lucca 100 km away (91 on highway), Florence 160 km away(150 on the highway), Siena 239 away (223 on the highway), Bologna 243 km away (224 on highway). Other famous attractions that can be easily reached from Dosso are the coastal towns of Lerici and Tellaro in the Gulf of Poets, Forte dei Marmi and Pietrasanta in Versilia and the village of Varese Ligure in the Val di Vara. You can also spend a relaxing day in the Montecatini thermal baths, explore the Carrara marble quarries or visit the Lunigiana Valley with its 100 castles.
