Compact, well equipped and good location
Bologna was actually quite a bigger city than we imagined it to be, so it was a relief that the apartment was fairly near the centre.
It had absolutely everything you could need and was very thoughtfully planned out in terms of maximising available space. It was very clean and benefitted from some very friendly neighbours and locals -all of whom were happy to help out if we had a query.
Lots of space in the living area and -great plus - a pc and free wifi so that made checking things /booking ahead very easy to do.
Slight caveat if you don't like tight spaces/ steep stairs is that the bedroom is below the living room and accessed by a narrow spiral staircase.
At the top of the road is a great local bar, open from 6am and very friendly -many a pleasant evening there! And at the other end of the road was an equally local restaurant Mareluna - very reasonable and superb cooking, although there is obviously a huge choice of restaurants available.
We could and did walk to the train station but it was a fair 20 minute hike - so then we discovered the 21/30 or D bus all of which passed close to the apartment and made short walk of the trek.
We spend a week in the apartment but also visited Verona and Ferrara - very easy to do in a day.
