Lovely house just minutes away from the beach

  • 5 of 5

Overall fantastic place to stay, close to mullins beach and the bar. When that beach gets too busy you have the tranquility of Gibbs Beach just along the way. Easy to walk along the beach to Speightstown as well. The house is very large and spacious, great for entertaining.

Beautiful Villa in great Location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at Beam Reach in February this year and had a wonderful stay! We have stayed in the Mullins area previously, and were delighted to find this Classic Bajan Villa, which has been newly renovated - literally 2 minutes walk from Mullins Beach! The house is set in Tropical Gardens and is very spacious and airy. The living area is open plan, and the kitchen is large and fully equipped. There is a lovely covered terrace and pool, directly off the living area - which we made plenty of use of. The location is perfect as it is close to Speightstown, and Holetown which has plenty of Shops/Restaurants is driving distance . Lovely Villa in a great location - We'll definitely be returning to Beam Reach in 2017!

Car: not necessary

Beam Reach Villa is located on the north wast coast on the Caribbean side of Barbados which is known as the Platinum Coast. We are half way between two beaches, both of them 3 minutes away. So If its sun sand and sea you want - 2 of the most beautiful beaches on the island are just across the road. Mullins beach is a Coral Beach with turquoise water and white sand. It has a little beach bar with some of the best seafood in the world and is a lovely place to stretch out with a book and a cool beer - if that takes your fancy. Water sports of all kinds are available, and for the children there is a trampoline, water iceberg and various other activities. If you want to be on your own for a little reflection or a snooze, just walk along the beach to join up with its quieter neighbour Gibbes beach - which is mostly deserted and is the one of the best examples of a peaceful and beautiful tropical island beach you can find anywhere ! If you fancy exploring… The Animal flower Cave - just about 20 minutes away and is a must where you can visit the monkeys and feed the animals. There are many beautiful Plantation houses with antiques which provide a window into times past. They also provide fine dining and are dotted right across the island and they welcome visitors. The Unesco World Heritage site of Speightstown is just five minutes up the road and its many restaurants and little beach bars are very pretty. It's daily market of fruit and vegetables gives you the flavour of old Barbados. In contrast, five minutes to the south of Beam Reach, the designer shops of the Limegrove, along with its fantastic cinema provide a more modern alternative. Diamond shops, Duty Free and all the designer brands you could wish for are at your fingertips. Ten minutes north of Mullins lies Port Ferdinand where you can enjoy lunch or dinner surrounded by the luxury yachts moored in the marina. Down south is St Lawrence's Gap which has lots of nightclubs and restaurants. It wakes up late in the day and parties late into the night. St. Lawrence's Gap is 30 minutes by car from Beam Reach. Barbados is a small safe and very diverse island- (21 X 14 miles) with tourists welcome everywhere. Bajans love good food, good music and good fun and they enjoy welcoming visitors. You can eat in five star restaurants or dine in small beachside shacks and still enjoy freshly cooked locally sourced produce. There are lots of golf clubs on the island including the world famous Sandy Lane, which is three miles south of Beam Reach. Royal Westmoreland is also nearby as is Apes HIll. A day at the races is traditionally a family day out for most Bajans so it is a wonderful way to enjoy snapshot of Bajan society. Everyone comes and dresses in their finery and it is great fun. Nearby is the Oval cricket ground and you will be sure to see a passionate crowd whenever there is a cricket match to support. A visit to Mount Gay Rum distillery is a must. The old Synagogue in Bridgetown is well worth a visit. It is one of the oldest in the Americas, and is very well preserved. Arts and crafts are available from Pelican village on the outskirts of Bridgetown just 20 minutes away, or nearby in the Chattel village in Holetown. The east coast of the island is worth seeing. With the atlantic breeze it can be a cooler alternative to its Caribbean side and with a regular bus service stopping just outside the house it is very easy to get there.

At one point in time, Concorde was regular visitor to Barbados and you can visit the actual plane and enjoy the Concorde experience at the airport. It is very enjoyable. Barbados is a wonderful friendly island. It's people are warm and friendly and once you visit it, you will find it very hard not to return again and again.
