APARTMENTS MARCASTEL is a private complex with several of the apartments rented out for holidays. Situated in a quiet area of Playa Blanca, yet only a few minutes walk from the beautiful Dorada beach, the Rubicon Marina and the Central Avinada, with their many fine restaurants, bars and shopping.

Marcastel is therefore ideally situated to relax away from it all yet still enjoy all the amenities of the resort without the need to drive.

It is about 35 minutes by taxi or car from the airport. Alternatively transport can be arranged both ways.

ACCOMODATION:

This comfy, bright, spacious well equipped first floor apartment, comprises of: Large lounge, with dinning area off.

Fully equipped kitchen with full oven, fridge-freezer & microwave.

1 double bedroom.

1 twin bedroom.

Bathroom with shower and washing machine.

Large balconies to front & rear with views to the Ajaches Mountains offer ample space to relax, dine or take advantage of private sun bathing from dawn till dusk.

Playa Blanca is the most southerly resort on Lanzarote with views across to Fuerteventura, only a mere 11 Km by ferry, which leaves from the harbor several times a day.

Beautiful and relaxed, with a delightful promenade, interesting shops and superb restaurants within ten minute walk from the apartment.

Take a walk by the sea. A paved promenade now runs for approximately 4 miles along the length of the resort,

From the new marina to east, taking in the harbour and continuing out to the light house on the western point.

A drive up to Femes early evening not only rewards you with good food, the view is awesome.

If its fish takes your fancy then it is well worth the drive to the village of El-Golfo, again best early evening to appreciate the colours & spectacle of the landscape, ocean & sun sets.

It has many advantages for those looking for sun, sea and sand with a variety of beaches close to the apartment, said to be some of the best on the island.

For the more energetic, the resort offers a range of activities including diving, sailing, water sports, tennis, par 3 golf course, walking etc and it is an excellent base for sight seeing.

OUT & ABOUT, EXCURSIONS / PLACES TO VISIT

Cesar Manrique Foundation,

The famous artist Cesar Manrique, Insistent on a blend with environment, had a big influence on the development of the island. A legacy of his works is to be found all around the island.

The house in Tahaiche on the site of 5 volcanic bubbles, holds a stunning collection of his paintings, drawings, plans and photographs.

The Cactus Garden towards the north is deigned to display over 1,400 different species.

Los Jamos Del Agua: A pre-historic volcanic irruption with natural caves having roofless bubbles of lava and a beautiful underground lake. Here he created a setting of artistically arranged flora with a complex of restaurants, bars and concert cave with wonderful acoustics.

About the Owner

Our first visit to Lazoarote was twenty one years ago, when traveling from the Airport to our accommodation in the Old town of Puerto Del Carmen "Stunning scenery, no high rise buildings, everything clean and bright, all topped off with a a view over the bay and a magnificent Sunset" I instantly fell in love with Lanzarote.

It was on that very first visit that we put down a deposit on an apartment in Puerto Del Carmen which we took over six months later and where we spent many memorable holidays.

Playa Blanca had began to develop at a pace and we found ourselves spending more time there and when they began building the new Marina we decided to look for a property close by and the rest is history.

Spacious, clean & well equipped. Helpful owners.

This property is ideal for a small family, a couple or a group of friends. It is exceptionally well equipped, clean and well presented. It is only a short walk from the beach and shops. A quiet location with amazing views from one of the verandas towards the Marina Rubicon. The owners are very friendly, helpful & informative. Would highly recommend it and intend to go back - if it's available when we want to return as it's very popular and has unfortunately not been available for 2 subsequent planned trips to Playa Blanca. Will definitely try again!

Very Highly Recommended

Just back from an 11 night stay in October 2016 -superb holiday. The apartment was excellent, very clean, spacious and very well equipped with the bonus of having two balconies to catch the sun all day. The location is ideal in a quiet residential complex and yet within easy walking distance of a good supermarket, the Dorada beach and restaurants. Playa Blanca has a lovely seafront promenade and you can walk for miles in either direction. There is a good local bus service stopping outside the apartment that takes you around the resort. Beryl and Phil were easy to communicate with, very helpful with the booking and provided us with detailed information on the apartment and the local area. We will definitely be back and are already planning our next visit in 2017.

Couldn't have wished for anything better

  • 5 of 5

From the minute we entered we knew we were going to have a great holiday. The apartment is spotlessly clean, bright and airy, has everything you could possibly need and just feels so comfortable. The location is perfect, within easy walking distance to beach, shops, bars, restaurants and the beautiful marina but also has the advantage of being quiet and peaceful. It is obvious that this apartment is loved and cherished by its very friendly owners Phil and Beryl and well looked after in their absence by Lyn. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to any of our friends and will return again ourselves.

Excellent apartment for cleanliness and facilities

After many years of self catering holidays, this apartment surpassed anything previously. We hope to return next year. Excellent location too.

absolutely home from home

  • 5 of 5

been in lots of apartments in fact different apartments 4 times per year abroad but believe me this the most spacious smartest and best equipped of the lot. lovely mountain views and so very quiet and sedate.

15 mins walk to lovely town of playa blanca and only 20 minutes walk the opposite way to the absolutely gorgeous marina rubin so spot in the middle to walk both ways.

around the town no.30 bus service runs opposite the apartment also taking you to the bus station. only 1 euro.

the no.30 bus also takes you to colarado town which is the gateway to the famous papygayo beaches.

sorry for long winded review but absolutely delighted with our stay at 9b marcastell

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

  • 4 of 5

We can only reiterate the comments expressed by previous visitors to Beryl and Phil's delightful apartment. The two balconies are a definite plus especially the one at the front for a bit of late afternoon sunbathing. Situated in a pleasant small development mixed with full-time residents, it felt like being part of the community. Great location a few minutes walk to the fabulous Dorada Beach and all the town's amenities and restaurants, yet without any significant noise disturbance, apart from the occasional coach stopping at the hotels nearby. The apartment was clean and well equipped and whilst it sleeps 4 people, it is ideal for 2. We shall definitely be back!

Location

From the Owner

Apartments Marcastel is situated in a quiet central area of Playa Blanca, only a few minutes walk from the beautiful Dorada beach, the Rubicon Marina and the Central Avinada, with their many fine restaurants, bars and shopping. It is therefore ideally situated to relax away from it all yet still enjoy all the amenities of the resort without the need to drive and is an ideal base from which to explore the Island and all it has to offer.

A’ Jewel in the crown of the Atlantic. Palm trees, mountains, white sand, black sand, moonscapes, stunning sun sets and quality development with no high rise. Set 68 miles off the western coast of Africa, Lanzarote is the most exclusive of the Canary Islands.

Views of the Fire Mountains and the sunsets are among many of the outstanding features of a stay on the island. Where else can you enjoy enjoy sun shine with an average temperature of 24ºC all year round and experience hardly any rain.
