About the property

Cosy two bedroomed house at the Uphill end of the beach close to amenities

This cosy little house has central heating and two luxurious bedrooms on the first floor. Decorated with individual touches, the sunny rear bedroom has a 5ft x6ft 6" king bed with beautiful linen and towels. The front bedroom with a side aspect window has two 3ft 6 in single beds together with plenty of drawer and wardrobe space.

On the ground floor you will find the sunny sitting room which has a small dining table and chairs and a comfy sofa to sink into after a day on the sea front. This room looks out onto a paved courtyard area which has alfresco dining furniture for four and a little storage area. A picnic hamper and other thoughtful additions to make your stay complete. Also on the ground floor there is the bath/shower room and the well equipped kitchen/diner which is the heart of the little house.

A lovely house that suited the whole family .... husband bowling at Clarence Park (literally across the road), my 10month old girl and I for the beach and walk the into town. Very clean , bright and very welcoming. A lovely touch with milk, bread and ginger nuts for us. Bedrooms very comfortable, exchanged a duvet for a lighter one a few minutes after leaving a message. Thank you Jan and Rae, see you next year.

A beautiful house located in a convenient, quiet location.

  • 5 of 5

The "Little House on the Park" is spotlessly clean and fully equipped. Everything that you may need has been provided. It is close to local amenities and yet it is in a very quiet location. There is a welcome pack of food, so you don't have to rush out to get the basics from the local shops. Parking is readily available right on the front door. The owner Jan is very friendly and can give you insider tips about Weston that you may require. There is a local GP at the end of the road and a Tesco Express and a Co-Op just round the corner. The local are all very friendly and helpful. A lovely chill-out break away from home.

Weston-Super-Mare

Just across the road from the Little House is the lovely Clarence Park a great favourite with all ages. There is the picturesque Clarence Park Bowling Club which welcomes spectators and a delightful Victorian Café called Oliver’s. Golf at Weston-Super-Mare Golf Club is available a short walk from the Little House and the best end of the beach is just across the road if you just want to watch the world go by or you could hop aboard the little promenade train which offers a leisurely way to explore the seafront.

Weston-Super-Mare is the gateway to the stunning South West of England not just offering a spectacular beach but also a vibrant town centre within touching distance of the beautiful Somerset countryside. A year round destination Weston offers the arts, theatre, history and adventure. The vast beach with its golden sand offers the traditional donkey rides throughout the main season, a favourite with children for generations. Along the seafront there is the newly refurbished Grand Pier offering a unique view of the coast and providing superb rainy day entertainment for all the family. Weston SeaQuarium, a sea life centre with cafe also provides a great morning or afternoon out.

Other Weston attractions include two theatres The Blakehay and The Playhouse, both offering various musical and cultural arts and performances with many well know acts taking to the stage. Weston's Golf Club is always a favourite as is the UK's biggest helicopter museum.

For those who like walking there are an amazing array of parks and gardens and a host of superb walks including the West Mendip Way, and many National Trust locations like Brean Down, Sand Point and Middle Hope.

Sand Bay - Only a five minute walk away is the open top bus that takes you to the unspoilt Sand Bay here you will find lovely beach walks and for the more adventurous an outstanding walk along the headland to Sand Point and Middle Hope. Sand Bay Tea rooms is to be recommended for a refreshing cuppa and a slice of cake after all that exercise and sea air! The New Castle Cafe is also recommended.

Uphill Nature Reserve - South of the Village of Uphill and only 10 minutes from the Little House you can enjoy nature and wildlife in this coastal site of specific scientific interest which is dominated by the ancient Uphill Church which is set on the hill above the reserve and presents a steep climb for those keen to see the extensive views. The reserve itself is mostly level with a good path to enjoy a stroll in stunning surroundings. Parking is available close by as are cosy pubs providing refreshment.

Weston offers a wonderful shopping experience at the Sovereign Centre in the town and an lots of excellent restaurants and cafe's where you can enjoy a leisurely meal.

Among the surrounding Mendip Hills you will find Cheddar Gorge (AONB) where you can enjoy the Gorge tour on the open top bus, the caves, shops and cafes, Jacob's Ladder and the Crystal Cave; for the more adventurous there is caving, abseiling and climbing available. The Village of Priddy on the top of the Mendips (800 feet above sea level) hosts Priddy Folk Festival and Priddy Fair during the summer. It has ancient connections and the Priddy Nine Barrows and Priddy Circles are popular attractions for those interested in history. The Queen Vic Pub with its log fires and wholesome food is a good place to enjoy lunch. Ebbor Gorge is also close by and worth a visit. There are various grades of walks marked up on the map in the car park.

Wells Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace at Wells are well worth a visit in Britain's smallest city. The medieval square hosts a street market every Wednesday and Saturday morning where you will find tempting food and goods to buy and pavement cafe's where you can enjoy a coffee or a bowl of homemade soup. In the market there is usually a man selling homemade sausages and he has the largest frying pan I have ever seen where he cooks and serves his creations offering them for sale with soft white bread and onions, delicious!!

Burnham is a short drive away and also Brean Down. Bath and Bristol also provide lots of interest to enjoy
