Four bedroom house overlooking Porthcothan beach with access to coastal path

Lovely detached family house, traditionally and comfortably furnished,set within large gardens and with glorious sea views over Porthcothan beach. Access to beach via cliff path from garden. Wonderful swimming and surfing. Lifeguards on duty in summer months. One double bedroom, 3 twin bedded rooms. Cot and high chair available. Dogs welcome. Living/dining room has comfortable seating, dining area with spectacular sea views, TV and good upright piano. Reading room with large selection of books and games. Two bathrooms and further shower room. Kitchen with Aga and electric cooker. Study. Utility room. Well behaved pets welcome. Linen provided. Electricity payable on meter reading at end of holiday. Decking on sea side of house with sea views. Lovely sunny patio at front of house with seating for 8. Parking available for three cars.

About The Owner

My parents fell in love with Long Cove in 1953 and purchased it as a holiday home. They extended the house considerably and moved from Hampshire to live there permanently in 1978, my mother continued to live there with her pekinese after my father died in 1997, until her death in 2005. Although we live in Edinburgh we love Long Cove too much to sell it. It was substantially renovated in 2005 and we have rented it since then as well as going there ourselves as often as we can off season. We continually upgrade the house for example adding the decking in 2009

Why The Owner chose Saint Eval

My parents were on holiday at Harlyn bay in 1953 when they discovered Long Cove was for sale and bought what they described as their 'dream cottage'

All my childhood holidays were spent there and our children and now grandchildren have spent many happy holidays there.

What makes this house unique

The views from the house are glorious, whatever the weather. Stunning sunsets in June,, waves crashing over the cliffs in storms, , turquoise seas in the summer.

The house still has the feeling of the history of a family home . There is a library full of books and a very good upright piano.

Close to the pretty fishing village of Padstow with its Rick Stein restaurants and Jamie Oliver's restaurant Fifteen is ten minutes away towards Newquay. fabulous surfing at Constantine and Treyarnon as well as Porthcothan or you can cross the ferry from Padstow to Rock where there is sailing and further surfing beaches at Daymer bay and Polzeath.
