Overview

About the property

5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, close to Bath city centre and next to Charlcombe Valley

Please note : We are at home over Christmas 2017 and New Year so are unable to offer our house for rent. The next available dates are half term 10-17 February - We may be able to commit to a weekend. Please get in touch to find out.

This family home is twenty minutes walk to Bath city centre and on the door step of beautiful Charlcombe Valley where Jane Austen went walking and Mary Berry grew up. The modern detached extended split level bungalow with five bedrooms and open plan kitchen, living, dining room area with a wood burner overlooking Charlcombe Valley and Little Solsbury Hill.

The property has five bedrooms. The master bedroom has a long size bed with ensuite shower room. The second bedroom has a double bed and is also an office and tv snug. The third bedroom has bunkbeds and the fourth bedroom a single bed. The fifth bedroom is the largest and has a double bed. There is a family bathroom and a separate wc/cloakroom by the front door.

The large sloped front garden has flat lawn area, wild flower meadow area with trampoline and swings. The back garden is a kitchen garden of which visitors are welcome to help themselves to home grown veggies. It has a barbecue area with seating outside the back door.

Access to the house is up steps through the front garden or up a sloping side path. The hike up the garden means incredible views through a five metre by three metre sliding door which opens onto a large balcony in the open plan living/kitchen/dining room. There is path and steps access at the side of the front garden for buggies and push chairs, but it is not suitable for those who are not steady on their feet.

There is gas central heating throughout and a wood burner with logs galore for guests to use.

The kitchen is a cooks kitchen! Well stocked with plenty of big pans and utensils. The living room has a large smart TV with DVD player. There is wifi throughout the house.

There is a twenty minute hilly walk into Bath city centre with shops, museums, galleries, restaurants, Roman Baths, Pump Rooms, Bath Abbey. Parking is available by Waitrose or take a bus from the end of the Charlcombe Way.

Please note

1. This is our family home. We will leave our books, toys, games, dvds, store cupboard food, etc which you are welcome to use. Please just leave everything as you found it, respect it as though it were your own, and replace any food/drink/groceries finished up.

2. We have two cats. They are not allowed in the bedrooms. However if any of your party are allergic our house may not be suitable.

3. There are a lot of steps up to our front door. There are three different ways to access the house all with varying degrees of steps. For those that are not steady on their feet our house may not be suitable. (Although the man who lived here before us was 103!)

Please get in touch if you would like to discuss the bedroom set up as we can re-arrange things before hand if necessary. We have some baby equipment - just ask if you need anything.

awesome

We had a wonderful stay in an amazing house. Ruby recommended some great restuarants in town and being able to walk into Bath was a real treat - defintely worth a cab back up the hill though. Truly, the views from this amazing home are worth the stay alone.

Stunning property with bags of character

  • 5 of 5

The house is situated perfectly on the outskirts of Bath town so easy to get into town if you want to, although we chose to stay snuggled up at the house for the most part. The house is beautifully designed with plenty of space, all the mod cons, and the layout is just perfect. Being able to see over the living space while you cook makes everyone included, and that view as you wake up in the morning is just to die for. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this house again. We used it this time for a hen do, but it would be perfect for a family retreat or any other kind of stay. The fact that Ruby was super helpful at every step as well made our stay that much more enjoyable. Thanks again for your hospitality and allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!

Spacious house with an amazing view - felt like a home as of the 1st minute

  • 5 of 5

A personal and friendly welcome by the owner. We enjoyed the view as of the first moment whilst the children enjoyed the trampoline in the garden. The house was clean and all supplies were available. We were encouraged to enjoy the crops from the kitchen garden. An ideal place to relax near Bath.
