About the property

Located right next to the beach in a quiet residential area our spacious, contemporary ground floor apartment offers 5 star accommodation. With fantastic sea views, picturesque private courtyard c/w BBQ & only steps from the water it's a wonderful retreat.

Our apartments have been totally re-built & renovated to offer spacious, bright, airy & quiet living. The décor is contemporary with modern furnishings, Bamboo flooring & high end fixtures & fittings.

The lounge room, dinning area and kitchen is open plan with wonderful views from the large picture windows and sliding doors out to the sea and colourful courtyard.

The lounge has a large corner settee facing the main window and sliding doors to the garden courtyard. There is flat screen TV, surround sound stereo, coffee table, indoor plants, curtains & blinds. Special attention has been given to the lighting, with ceiling lighting, corner lamps and even curtain lighting all on dimmers; you can create exactly the mood you want!

The designer kitchen offer a U shape layout with one side being a peninsular unit allowing you all to gather around while preparing meals. It is fitted with a all modern appliances including family size dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, full size fridge with freezer, a full set of cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, electric kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. There is dimming ceiling lighting plus lighting above and below the eye-line cabinets.

The dinning area is adjacent to the kitchen with table and seating for 4 people & a sideboard for storage, wine, drinks, etc. It offers the same lighting effects as the lounge.

The main bedroom offers double bed, built in wardrobe & dresser, bedside cabinets with reading lights and a massive picture window with sliding doors to a small balcony overlooking the garden. All the lighting is dimmable to create a very cosy & romantic effect.

The 2nd bedroom is more like a single room but the bed does pull out to make a double. It is a proper bed and mattrass NOT a sofa bed. There is built in wardrobe, dresser, bedside cabinet with reading light and window to the rear garden.

The bathroom is spectacular with floor to ceiling porcelain tiles, a mirrored wall, large glass rain shower cubicle, glass hand basin, Bamboo cabinets and multiple lighting settings. There is a heated towel rail, hair dryer and make-up lights included.

The laundry room has a washing machine and linen cupboard. In the linen cupboard you will find a full set of bath & beach towels, spare tea towels, toilet paper, cleaning materials, etc.

The courtyard and garden is one of the features that truly makes this apartment magnificent. It is filled with wonderful plants, fruit trees and flowers. With a Zen water fountain in one corner there is a seating area under the shade of the balcony so you can live outdoors even in the middle of the day. It is a tranquil area paved in stone with jasmine & rose vines, tea trees & hibiscuses offering privacy from the neighbours and street while still giving wonderful views to the sea. Behind the seating area there is a small open space where you can lay your yoga mat, exercise or wheel out the gas BBQ provided.

You have a private entrance to the apartment directly off the street. At street level there is an entrance archway with automatic overhead lighting and a mermaid mosaic under your feet. On the side of the archway there is a beach shower to wash away the salt and sand from the days fun at the beach. Then 2 steps up into atrium where the front door is set back in the shade. There is a bench seat offering storage for shoes and beach toys plus automatic lighting here.

The apartment takes up the whole ground floor of our house. We live in the up-stairs. The building has total exterior insulation, all windows are double glazed, the roof & ceilings have heat insulation plus there is sound insulation between the 2 floors. So the apartments are very quiet and are very cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Although there is full air-conditioning you hardly need to use it except on the hottest of days. Also the windows facing the street are one-way glass so no one can see in during the day, but beware, with the lights on of an evening it is like a fish bowl so draw the curtains in living room if you want privacy!

If you were wanting to stay in the winter months there is under-floor heating throughout and the apartment is lovely and cosy. This heating system also gives an endless supply of hot water so the apartment is a joy in the colder months.

Note: Wheelchair access, there is 2 small but very wide steps up from street level to the front door. After that the apartment including access to the courtyard and the outdoors area is all on one level. If the 2 steps from the street level would cause difficulties then we would be happy to have ramp made prior to your arrival.

About Malcolm & Esin Taylor

Hi we are the Taylor clan, Esin my wife, Melody & Dylan our 2 new born twins and myself, Malcolm. Esin is Turkish English, grew up in Istanbul and has been living in Bodrum for 15 years. I am English but grew up in Australia. I came to Bodrum 25 years ago to work, fell in love with Bodrum, Turkey, the locals and especially Esin and never left. Esin and I were married 10 years ago.

I have been a sailor all my life and run my own Yacht Charter business, Broadblue Charters. My passion is sailing catamarans and my business reflects this as we specialise in luxury cruising catamarans.

Esin is into all things natural, healthy and Eco friendly. She is heavily involved in researching and saving the local heritage fruits & vegetables. She helped establish a local "natural & organic" growers association plus organised the introduction of an open market to sell their produce. She was giving Ayurveda massage to earn a living before settling into the routine of being a mother.

We both share a love of the sea and sailing. A perfect day for us is waking up on the boat, sailing to a secluded bay or remote village, swimming in crystal clear waters and exploring the area where we have anchored.

Why Malcolm & Esin Taylor chose Bodrum

Esin and I share a dream to live aboard our boat and sail the world. However while we are having to work and save the money to fulfill this dream we simply have to be within site, sound and walking distance of the sea. Hence when it came to buying our house it had to be next to the beach. What gives us great pleasures is waking up and seeing the sea out of our bedroom window, being able to sit on our veranda, drink our coffee, smelling the salt air and looking out to sea. Plus walking a few steps and being able to swim off the beach. On top of this we both love a garden. When we bought our house we could see the potential to develop a stunning garden. When I am not at work or on the boat you will normally find me weeding, pruning, planting and generally enjoying the garden.

What makes this apartment unique

When we bought our house beside the obvious benefit of being so close to the beach the added attraction was the neighborhood. Bodrum being a touristic area normal means that if you find a place close to the water it will be surrounded by hotels, bars, beach clubs, restaurants and the noise and traffic that goes with them. Plus you would normally find that it will be an apartment in a complex where everyone shares garden space and overlooks each other. None of these are things we like, we like to live in a quite, tranquil environment with some privacy. So when we found our house it ticked all the boxes. It has also made a wonderful retreat for our guests. Where else can you find a holiday apartment in a quiet residential area, with private garden & courtyard, wonderful views and only meters from the beach? Add the benefit of being only a few minutes walk down the beach from a host of wonderful restaurants and a short drive from the high life of Bodrum center and it's like paradise. Well that is how it is for us and our lifestyle, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

well appointed apartment in a quiet location.with good local dolmus.within walking distance to the beach and local restaurants on sea front.we had a hire car that was organized by the owner which was excellent.we enjoyed our stay and would return lounge and kitchen diner was large with cooking equipment and dish washer.the two bedroom had lots of storage.the garden is private with a barbecue.would have given 5 stars but we had no water then no hot water for 5 days except to boil water on the stove from 20 litre drinking water container.this problem was resolved by janice and the plumber elvis.was a shame it happened but it was just one of those things.but would recommend for couples and those with children.

The apartment is located in a quiet residential area just 40m from the beach. The part of the beach in front of us is also a tranquil area frequented mainly by the local residence and a few guests from 2 small boutique hotels. Here you will find a few sunbeds under the shade of the trees at the water's edge. There are no noisy water sports or loud beach clubs. It's an idyllic place to chill out and relax in peace, a perfect place if you have young kids.

If you want a bit more action, water sports, a beach club, bar or restaurants then you can walk up the beach 500m or so either way. Behind the beach, at the end of our street, you can walk the lanes and discover small farms and acres of mandarin groves, there are some wonderful restaurants scattered around this area.

Only a few minutes drive or minibus (Dolmus) ride away is Ortakent village, Bitez Beach, Bodrum and all the sites and attractions of the Bodrum peninsula.

Your rental fee includes your end cleaning but we do expect you to do your own washing up, emptying of the garbage bins and general tidy up. If you would like a full cleaner service while you are staying then please ask and we can arrange it for you.

My wife (Esin) and I (Malcolm) live in the up-stairs apartment and as such are always on call for any help you might need. We will greet you when you arrive, handing over the keys and show you around the apartment and how to use the various appliances and systems. We have designed the apartment to pretty much run itself so there is not a lot to explain but most importantly we can give you information and details of local attractions, sites, services, public transport, bank times, ATM machines, etc. During your stay we respect your privacy and here we have also designed the apartment so you will hardly know we are onsite. The entrance to our apartment is totally separate from yours as is your garden space. However we are more than happy to share some time together and help make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

I run my own yacht charter business "Broadblue Charters" and there are a lot of services that we offer our charter guests which we are happy to offer you as well. These include; Airport transfers, car rental, sightseeing tours, taxi bookings, boating trips, windsurfer/sailing boat hire & lessons, provisioning service, etc. As I have staff on hand we can also offer cleaning/maid service, hostess/cook. If there is anything you would like, like to know, have help with or any special requests please do not hesitate to ask.

Esin has her own freelance business giving therapeutic massage, if you would like a massage just ask.

She also has a lot to do with the local natural & organic fruit and vegetable growers association and the running of their local market. If you would like to try the local produce she would be more than happy to either have some delivered for your arrival or help you shop once you are here.
