Ideal lakeside holiday location for up to six in the heart of the Lake District

Stickle Tarn Lodge pine cabin occupies a peaceful, woodland setting within the White Cross Bay holiday park and marina beside Lake Windermere, just to the north of Windermere town. It is fully equipped to provide a wonderful self-catering holiday for up to six people and is in an ideal location for enjoying all that Windermere and the Lake District have to offer!

The lodge's large south-facing balcony commands an elevated view over the park in the lake direction. Additional features include: free Wi Fi (provided by White Cross Bay and subject to availability) an extensive DVD library, USB charging points, digital radio and music docking, and complimentary toiletries. John and Jeanne, the owners, look after it with loving care and do everything necessary themselves to ensure it is as clean and welcoming as possible when guests arrive.

White Cross Bay Leisure Park is located alongside Lake Windermere itself, about two miles north of the town. The park has been described, quite justifiably, as: "the most idyllic and scenic holiday location in the heart of the Lake District".

Within the main complex building there is literally 'something for everyone':

Reception; Swimming Pool; Sauna; Gym; Large Bar; Restaurant; Shop; Fast-food outlet; Games arcade; Beer garden and Childrens' play area; and an outdoor multi-sports court. (Please note: A one-off payment of £15.00 to White Cross Bay is required for use of the swimming pool/gym to cover ALL guests for duration of visit).

There is an extensive woodland area - inhabited by deer - which is accessible for guests to explore and enjoy, or for dog walking.

About The Owner

The photo shows us (John and Jeanne) doing what we love to do whenever possible - going out on long walks. Both pictures were taken during 2015 on seaside walks. We are both approaching retirement: Jeanne is a nurse and John is involved in property maintenance.

We are incredibly privileged to have such a wonderful base of our own near to Windermere and we put our heart and soul into making the lodge a place where our guests can also feel perfectly at home.

Amazing lodge with everything you need

We stayed here for 4 night for my daughters 2nd birthday. Although it was raining for the 4 days we were there we still had so much fun. The lodge is immaculate and has every you will need. The DVD's in the lodge are great. The owners have good taste and lots of new DVD's that have recently been released to watch. The park, pool and bar are nipping clean with plenty to do. A timetable at reception will keep you organised.

We will definitely be returning here , we have no complaints what so ever.

Excellent lodge, superb location

The lodge had excellent facilities for a family holiday. The kids were especially taken with the vast CD library - just what you need in a windy autumn night to keep the kids entertained. Great advice from the hosts about the different restaurants in the area and we especially loved the thai food (we don't have a good one near us in Glasgow). Had a swim everyday in between the walks, coffee and cakes in the tearooms and a bracing boat trip on the lake. Altogether an excellent introduction to the Lake district area.

And I'm always chuffed when guests comment on it as I've invested a lot of thought (and money for that money) into the titles that I buy on a regular basis (for all tastes and ages). Even my grown up children have commented favourably - which is praise indeed coming from THEM!! This property was perfect for our family holiday.

An excellent property in an ideal location to enjoy the Lake District. The lodge had all the facilities you would with for in a family holiday and the extensive CD library was a bonus on a windy autumn evening. We managed to squeeze in a swim every day in between the walks around Ambleside and Windermere as well as a boat trip across the lake. I would thoroughly recommend any family to stay at Stickle Tarn Lodge.
