Beautiful place, friendly hosts

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable, shame about the mosquitoes, but it was a well equipped apartment with amazing views and birdsong all around. For those who don't know the area, it is amazing. So much to do and see. Would particularly recommend the spa baths at Ax-les-Thermes.

Great apartment for the price

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the apartment for a week - 2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 8. We had a friendly greeting from Anne, who was on hand with her husband to give advice on travel and help with any issues. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and the use of the pool and other garden facilities. Apartment itself was small, but well equipped, but this was reflected by the really competitive price. Best of all was the stunning location in a valley cut by the Ariege river, and the really handy location 5 minutes drive from supermarkets and near to roads leading to Andorra, walks in the Pyrenees mountains, a wolf sanctuary, and plenty of castles. Both we and the kids had a great week - thank you!

Wonderful location, lovely place!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful stay at Chez Arran, the apartment we were in (Cheval) was lovely with plenty of rustic charm and the area is just stunning - so much to see and do! Anne, John and the beautiful Amile are really welcoming and friendly, without being overbearing which is just perfect - and I was super happy to meet their adopted cats who wander about the gardens!

You will need a car to get about, as the public transport links aren't great - so bear that in mind. But once you do, there is so much adventure and beauty waiting for you. I lost count of the amount of Cathar castles and amazing buildings we saw, not to mention the stunning countryside, it's like no-where else.

We had a wonderful holiday, really felt at home in the apartment and came away relaxed and happy, we even got engaged while we were with you so will always remember our visit! Thank you all so much!

Lovely comfortable apartment

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely apartment and full of character. The location is quiet and peaceful, but it's easily accessible by car and a great base for adventure activities and sightseeing in the Ariege valley. The owners could not be more welcoming and helpful. We've stayed at Chez Arran a number of times now and we've always had a great time - we'll be back again soon!

Superb, spacious apartment with fantastic views along the valley.

It is situated in a peaceful location but only a few minutes drive to get back to the main roads and the shops.

It is very well equipped and with central heating is nice and warm in the really cold weather.

The owners are very helpful and will advise on local walks, snow-shoeing, climbing etc.

Highly recommended.

Gemütliche Unterkunft in atemberaubender Landschaft / App. charmant dans un paysage impressionnant

  • 4 of 5
