The cottage was beautifully restored, set in stunning and tranquil countryside with glorious views. The size of rooms was good, beds were very comfortable and the pool area was lovely. However we were very disappointed that the second 'bathroom' was in fact a shower and toilet in an outside storeroom. The house had inadequate lighting for reading and cooking in the evening, the dining seating was uncomfortable, the pillows need updating and there needs to be more of them. The pool pump mechanism was extremely loud and one day after it had been going for 6 hours we had to insist that it be turned off which the owners did but reluctantly. We were also shocked that we were expected to clean the house thoroughly ourselves prior to departure or pay a cleaning fee. We paid the fee and were still expected to strip all the beds. None of this was made clear on the website. We still really enjoyed the holiday although we felt that the house was quite basic and not good value for money and is not suitable for couples and friends. We have stayed in many properties in other parts of France and all over Europe spending a similar amount of money but experienced a higher level of comfort and facilities. I feel strongly that the information provided on the website needs to be more accurate to reflect the situation of the bathrooms and the cleaning fee.
