Boatrig Farmhouse is a spacious self catering property situated in an elevated and peaceful rural location with stunning views over the surrounding countryside in Dumfries & Galloway. Boatrig Farmhouse can sleep a maximum of 10 with 5 bedrooms (double en-suite, triple en-suite, double, twin and single) over two floors with a kitchen, dining room, living room, conservatory, utility room, WC and family bathroom. Kitchen has oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dish-washer. Utility room with washer/dryer. There is a cot and highchair in the farmhouse. The house also benefits from biomass central heating, an open log fire in the living room, free wifi, BBQ facilities, car parking and bike storage. Dogs are also welcome (max 2).

Boatrig is located approximately 8 miles from Dumfries and provides an ideal holiday base in which to explore the surrounding area. The main local attractions include the Seven Stanes mountain bike trail centre network including Mabie, Ae, and Dalbeattie Forests along with the mountain biking trails at Drumlanrig. Other local attractions are Drumlanrig Castle, the home of the Duke and Buccleuch and Queensberry, with beautiful gardens and a country park; Caerlaverock Castle; Mabie Farm Park; Galloway Activity Centre; Dalscone Farm; Cream of Galloway and Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre. The surrounding countryside also offers lots of options for the keen walker with the wonderful scenery and rolling hills. There are well marked trails in the woods at Drumlanrig Castle and Mabie/Ae Forests or for those wishing more of a challenge, Criffel, the region’s largest hill is located at New Abbey and stands at 570m high.

The nearby village of Thornhill offers shops, hotels and an 18 hole golf course. The town of Dumfries hosts many supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and shopping opportunities. There are also a number of other local golf courses including Dumfries & County, Dumfries & Galloway, Powfoot and Southerness Golf Clubs.

Boatrig is ideally situated for exploring the Solway Coast which boasts many towns and villages offering art and crafts, antique shops, museums and quaint cafes, as well as beautiful sandy and rocky beaches to explore.

In the event of your cancellation within that period, the balance is only returnable if we are successful in re-booking the property. If the booking is cancelled more than 6 weeks prior to the booked date a refund of 50% of the deposit will be given. After this date the deposit is non-returnable.
