About The Owner/Property Manager

In July 2014 we took the big step of moving to France for a slower pace of life, and to have more time to appreciate nature and the countryside.

We are trying to be as self sufficient as possible and live with our small posse of, Brampton the labrador, 2 cats, 2 sheep and the chickens.

The Owner/Property Manager purchased this cottage in 2013

Why The Owner/Property Manager chose Coussac-Bonneval

We fell in love with this property because of its stunning location. Next to the river, a picturesque waterfall, lovely village nearby and beautiful countryside.

What makes this cottage unique

The hobbit house, used to be the bread oven for the hamlet and still has the original oven.

Ideally located for going off on walks, cycling, fishing, local historic towns, or just getting away from it all.

A lovely cottage which I found ideal for a relaxing break.

  • 5 of 5

A cottage in a peaceful rural setting. The owners were very nice and happy to help, including some eggs from their chickens. We had a very relaxing few days and found the property had everything we needed.

Owner's Response: the ideal couple, very friendly and respectful of the property and the location. Look forward to seeing them again in the future. Good luck with the great north run.

Dark skies....Hobbit House

Peace and tranquility...Hobbit House

Little things like coffee jug or somewhere to hang stuff up...forget it! An tiny electric oven balanced on a stool may look sweet but is impractical and dangerous.

With a bit of thought and money invested in it, this could be a great place.

Owner's Response: Yes, we could invest thousands more, but then we couldn't charge the very low prices we charge. As far as missing a few extras, its a small cottage, appropriately called the Hobbit house, small and romantic, if you want bigger, pay more and book a bigger place. Oh, and by the way, it's already a great place, as agreed by all of our guests.

The Hobbit House is a really lovely little place to stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful few days in this little house. Although it is so small there was everything we needed. The setting is beautiful and peaceful and ideal for a quiet stay. We were visiting our son nearby and it all worked out perfectly . Carl and Lesley made us very welcome and it is quite likely we will return. It was lovely to meet them. Liz and Tony.

Peaceful beauty

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The area is so beatiful and quiet. We were made very welcome by Lesley and Carl. You have a wonderful place. The cottage is lovely and we loved every moment of there. Wished the weather would have stayed as beautiful as it was for the first 3 days. Thank you again. Big hug for Brampton.
