About the property

2 bedroom, 1 bathroom in Primrose Hill near Regent's Park

This fantastic two bed, one bathroom apartment is right in the heart of one of London’s most exclusive locations, Primrose Hill Village. Primrose Hill is a beautiful and charming village in North London. Close to the Primrose Hill park, with stunning views across the capital, and a short walk from ZSL London Zoo, the apartment is perfectly situated for a family holiday in London.

Decorated in an English country style, you will find lots of little quirks around the apartment such as interesting art works and a old fashioned toys. The flat is arranged over two floors of a Georgian conversion in the heart of Regent’s Park road. You’ll find fantastic restaurants such as Lemonia, boutique shops such as Primrose Hill Pets and a wonderful mix of cafes and food stores and markets. Sitting in the English country style living room and looking to the street below, you would be forgiven for thinking you were in an English village, rather than a bustling metropolis.

Entering from the street you access the Georgian conversion flat via a staircase. The apartment is located on the first and second floors, accessed only by stairs which are a little steep. Once you enter the apartment there is a second staircase to the apartment’s first floor.

The first floor of the apartment is home to the living room, a kitchen and twin bedroom. Upstairs you will find the master bedroom and the bathroom.

As soon as you walk into the living room you should notice the beautiful English country style decoration. The living room has been beautifully furnished with the perfect mix of older period and new furniture. There are fabulous features such as an old bureau and tan leather armchair and sofa nestled next to a newer sofa (a sofa bed sleeping the 5th guest). The standout features of the room occupy the main wall. There is a gorgeous fireplace for warming you up on winter evenings, a fabulous large mirror and the fantastic built in library. With this many books around the apartment it is a reader's dream! For entertainment there is also a TV with Virgin Media cable TV as well as a Amazon Kindle tablet with further information about the property, local area and internet browsing. Check inside the bureau to find adapters, spare plugs and chargers and headphones.

The living room faces onto the street below, but thanks to its height avoids any outside noise. It is however perfect for people watching in the cafe’s and bars below.

The adjoining fully fitted, high spec country-style kitchen is just off the living room. You’ll find all the latest equipment you could want such as a dishwasher and coffeemaker etc. It is the perfect place to cook up some of the great fresh produce you can get in the shops and markets around Primrose Hill. You’ll find all the usual appliances such as a fridge, freezer (upstairs) and everything you need to prepare a great meal. When in the kitchen look around to find hidden spice rack which is exceptionally well stocked. Why not enjoy it whilst watching the world go by below.

The first floor also includes one of the two bedrooms. This is a twin room with two single beds (sleeping two guests). The room is cosy and comfortable and decorated in a similar style to the living room. Enjoy the different artwork and photographic prints as well or relax with a good book from the well stocked book shelves, or just get a great night’s sleep. There is plenty of storage space for all your luggage and clothing.

Next we move upstairs. Taking the stairs to the second floor you will find the master bedroom and second bathroom. Coming to the hall you will find the utility cupboard. In here is a washing machine and dryer. The master bedroom is spacious and has plenty of storage. The main feature is the resplendent double bed with fabulous metal frame. Both guests will also find a small, but very well stocked, bedside bookcase.

The bathroom is beautifully decorated in a modern style and features a Victorian sink, WC and walk in shower. We’ve provided all your bathroom products from the great people at Aqua Viva.

Primrose Hill is one of London’s most prestigious neighbourhoods featuring stylish shops and a mix of casual cafes, local pubs and fine dining. It offers the perfect blend of accessibility to the best parts of the capital. At Primrose Hill park you can marvel at the views of London. A five - ten minute walk away is Chalk Farm tube station on the Northern Line. This connects you with the Eurostar terminal in under ten minutes and takes you right to the heart of the city at Oxford Street in less than 12 minutes.

absolutely charming.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a fantastic time in flat B Regents Park Road 57. As a little surplus, the steep stairs boosted our fitness. The apartment was very charming und just the right size for 4 people. The neighbourhood offers everything you need. Some stores, if you want to buy meals or beverages. Several good restaurants (British, Italian, Greek, Pub, …) in a range of 5 minutes.

Just the fact, that the apartment has only one bathroom is sometimes limiting, if you travel with two teenagers, but it asks just a little bit more coordination, since the bathroom itself is large enough.

Some previous guests noted in their comment, that the flat would be noisy. It is true, London is noisy. Undoubtedly there exist flats or regions in London where you have less noise. But – for example – the helicopters turning around at night, are not a specific problem of this flat. The same with the waste removal crew every morning. It’s London.

Thanks to Karen and her team: everything went “swimmingly”. We have really appreciated our “long” stay in London and will not hesitate to book via Karen and her team, next time we will come to London .

Great landing spot for a small family to stay

  • 4 of 5

Stayed for 4 nights with my husband and 2 small children. The location is excellent- family friendly, lots of restaurants and shops nearby, quick walk to chalk farm tube station. The kitchen is tiny (small under counter fridge only) but totally met our needs as we ate out. Street noise was minor, house was clean and comfy.

Flat in Central London

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 1 week in the property and loved the park next door. London Zoo is 5 mins down the road. Plenty of room for the kids and good restaurants on the same street. The area is buzzing in the day time and quiet at night. Very cosy bedroom upstairs. We gave it 5 stars because it was exactly the description on the site.

Beautiful place - not a good location for touring downtown London

  • 3 of 5

This was not an ideal situation. We had reserved what we thought would be a perfect location and layout for us to visit the sites of London for a week. Then, shortly before our trip, we were informed that flat was no longer an option. While I do understand that these things happen, we found ourselves needing to stick with the same agency to get the limited compensation they were offering for now missing out on our 2nd, 3rd, and even fourth choices. This area and layout was adorable, but a higher price than what we were going to pay for a location closer to the sights and with two bathrooms instead of one . The price, we were told, was because of the premiere neighborhood. Unfortunately, due to the distance from downtown, the location proved to be the major drawback for us. Painful to pay more for something that ended up being the least desirable trait.

Pros - absolutely adorable neighborhood; great restaurant options with Lemonia in particular; firm bed; nicely appointed; guy who greeted us was great, but we were late because we took a wrong turn walking from the tube and so he needed to get out quickly.

Cons - street noise is loud until 11PM and then the garbage men make sure you're up by 6:30; bed is a rock - I slept on the couch; it's a huge commute to and from downtown every day and you truly can't avoid jam packed trains at any point; two narrow and twisting flights of stairs just to get to the main room and another to get to the toilet (try doing that every day after a long day of sight-seeing); the kindle they describe in the description was there, but not charged and no cords visible; no information provided to get there from the tube; no info on local restaurants (menus)/other helpful info, and only limited info around checkout requirements. We're still not sure we met their expectations for our deposit.

General thoughts on staying at a home instead of a hotel. Overseas destinations are hard because it is so difficult to deal with luggage when flight times do not line up with check-in/out times. The original place we chose said we could check with them prior to arrival and they could handle the luggage. When I asked about this property, the response was "check-in is at 2." Very disappointing. But they did recommend a place where I could pay ten pounds a bag to store them - ugh. Having to meet someone at the location at a precise time to check-in can be painful as well. If you have flexibility time-wise, it's a great op

Owner's Response: It was a shame that due to a ban on short let's we could not offer these guests their first choice. We did however refund them and give them the opportunity to choose any rental from any other company not just us. They came back to us and we offered this listing as an alternative. All previous guests love the flat and its superb location. It's a stroll to the station through the leafy village and yes you will find the tube busy as its connects to central London within three stops. We are available 24 hours a day and pride ourselves with a prompt guest relations response by text phone or email. Had we known the kindle wasn't working or they needed assistance we would have been delighted to assist them. The bed they list as a pro and con I guess it's personal taste. We like all our guests to be happy and return to us, but we fully understand that they may or may not wish to do so.

We loved this flat and location!

  • 4 of 5

The only reason I didn't give this lovely flat 5 stars was because I was rehabilitating from a knee injury and the flights of stairs were a little taxing at times. Otherwise, this flat is A+. Don't be alarmed by the building's entry hall and stairs off the street. They are worn, tired, and a little dirty. But the flat is NOT like the building entry. The flat is on the second and third floors of the building, and is very clean and well-appointed.

The flat is full of natural light from large windows and skylights, and has a spacious feeling, not only because it is about 900 square feet, but because the ceilings are high. The bedrooms are both well-sized, with very comfortable beds and bedding. The bedroom with two single beds is on the first floor of the flat (second of the building), and the bedroom with the double/full bed is on the second floor of the flat along with the bathroom (third of the building). The living room was comfortable for us to relax in, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bathroom has stand up shower that has good water temperature and pressure. There is a washer, but no dryer. We used a drying rack that was provided, and it worked fine. There is a style of ease and class in the decor, along with interesting art, books, and photos. The flat does not have a sterile feeling; it's like the flat your good buddy from university owns and is letting you used while you're in town.

The street is full of shops, restaurants, and sidewalk cafes. There is a small grocery right next door where we could buy all our food needs. We had three or four places to choose from for breakfast every morning. There are two italian restaurants and one greek one on the street that we tried and were pleased with. Each end of the street has a pub/bar that were great.

Primrose Hill and Regent's Park are about three doors from your door. This neighborhood is upscale, but not stuffy. Just lovely. The Chalk Farm tube station is down the street and takes about 3-5 minutes to walk to. It is on the Northern Line and you can get just about anywhere in London from the station. We were able to get into the city and traditional sightseeing within 15-20 minutes using the tube. Camden is about a 10-15 minute walk from the flat, and is a grittier music and art scene than Regent's Park, full of bars, live music, clubs, and shopping.

I felt at home in this flat, and would want to stay there again. It would be like going home.

Stunning British flat in Primrose Hill

  • 5 of 5

This 2 story flat in Primrose Hill is a little gem situated on the high street amongst little delicatessen shops and boutiques. It was a real treat to stay in while in London.

Just across the road from Regents Park, and only meters away from the spectacular views of Primrose Hill, it's very central but just far enough to be wonderfully quiet. 35 min walk or a quick 15 min train ride and you're right in the middle of central London with Oxford Street and Soho right there!

With 2 bedrooms, one king and one twin, it has everything you need: fully equiped kitchen, lots of light, cosy sofas and a fire place to snuggle up to on the colder days. Tastefully decorated in the quaint British style you will feel at home straightaway, wether it's just for the weekend or a longer stay!

Will definitely be back here soon and would recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect London home away from home.

Primrose Hill and Regent’s Park. Fantastic views of the capital from the top of the grassy, hilly park. Beautiful boutique shops. Great restaurants, cafes and bars and beautiful streets to wander around. Is it any wonder that Primrose Hill has become popular with A-list celebrities and has been home to artists and writers since the days of William Blake.

The biggest attraction in the Primrose Hill area has to be the beautiful park lands or Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill park. Regent’s Park comprises over 410 acres. The view from atop the hill is one London’s best. The panorama extends right across the city from Westminster to docklands and far beyond. It was designed and built in the early 19th century by renowned architect John Nash. You’ll find everything from beautiful rose gardens to the Open Air Theatre and a boating lake. Take an early morning walk to see the myriad wild bird and waterfowl species or enjoy the largest array of outdoor sporting facilities in London with areas for football, softball, cricket and Rugby. In Primrose Hill park you will also find an outdoor gym, perfect for those who still want to keep in shape on their holidays.

Other facilities in the parks include public toilets with disabled access and baby changing rooms. Park cafes include The Garden Cafe, The Honest Sausage, The boathouse Cafe and the Tennis Centre Cafe.

For a family day out close to your apartment, ZSL London Zoo is a quick 10 minute walk through Primrose Hill park. London Zoo is one of the world’s best known zoos and boasts over 12,000 animals. There are daily ‘Meet the Animals’ shows year round and sunset evenings in the summer. Whilst some of the larger animals have been moved to Windsor and Longleat safari parks there are still plenty of chances to get up close and personal with the animals at London Zoo.

One of the best ways to approach both Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill to to get off the tube at Kings Cross and wander along the Regent’s Canal. You will pass through eclectic Camden Town with its assorted markets, restaurants and interesting nightlife. Along the way you will also see ‘hippy community’ living a life of ease on houseboats along the canal. These have become more popular in recent years as people look for alternative ways to get around London’s high housing costs.

On a first glance the villages shops look like they should fit into a pretty little English village. Take a closer look and you’ll see they are selling world-class fashion, chic designer furnishings and exclusive, organically sourced produce, food and drink.

The Primrose hill area is surrounded by other affluent areas such as St John's Wood to the west, Swiss Cottage to the north west, Belsize Park to the north, Chalk Farm to the north east, Camden Town to the east and Regent's Park itself lies adjacent to the south of the hill itself. The nearest stations to Primrose Hill are Chalk Farm tube station to the north east and Swiss Cottage tube station to the north west. St Pancras International Eurostar terminal is around 20 minutes from the apartment. Heathrow is accessed by changing tube at Kings Cross and is around 1 hours journey time.
