Excellent accommodation for a large party
We held a family reunion at the house, with 18 people (12 adults, 5 'young people' age 16-26, and two children.) We stayed four nights. There was plenty of room for all of us and we never felt crowded. The house has an enormous 2-story central hall and living room, which gives a feeling of lots of open space. There are four bedrooms with two double beds each, one fancy bedroom with one double bed, and a study with a double bed. All of the young people decided to camp on the sofas in the movie theatre rather than stay with their parents.
There are four bathrooms, and a laundry room. The kitchen is big, and adequate for preparing meals for 18. We spent a lot of time on the outside deck and in the water. Two kayaks are provided. The lake is huge and shallow: you can go out several hundred feet and be only waist-deep. The house is well-furnished and very comfortable. The beds are good. There is a firepit on the back lawn, and three evenings were spent sitting around the fire, talking and playing word games. The owner, Brian, kindly let us burn the logs in the woodpile. He was very helpful in all matters. We had, surprisingly, no mosquitos (in August). We had a fine time without even renting the optional extras (the pontoon boat, the jetskis and the hot tub.) This house is strongly recommended. We had an excellent time. We would happily book it again in future years. No complaints.
