Spacious 2 bedroom apartment with private balcony offering estuary views

The Moorings is a modern 1st floor 2 bedroom apartment, offering spacious living space with spectacular views of the estuary as well as being just a couple of minutes walk of the beach. The apartment is non smoking and we are sorry but we don't accept pets

Approached from the private car park, where you have your own parking space you enter the building by a secure lobby, up the stairs to your own entrance hall with ample room for coats and shoes. Entering the beautifully presented apartment itself, the two bedrooms are on the left hand side with views over looking the private communal gardens and are separated by the bathroom. The bedrooms, one a double and the other a twin, are equipped with very comfortable mattresses / duvets and pillows and both have their own wardrobes, whilst the bathroom is equipped with a bath with shower over, washbasin and toilet.

On the right side of the apartment which overlooks the estuary is the open plan living space, which offers a fully contained kitchen area with electric hob, electric fan oven and grill, fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, a lounge which opens onto the private balcony and a separate dining area all with differing estuary views. The lounge has a sofa and 2 armchairs, a wall mounted TV with free view as well as a DVD player, a Bose system for playing your CDs and iPod and offers access onto the balcony which has its own table and seating for 2. The separate dining area also has a dining table and 4 chairs, bookcases offering a selection of books, DVDs and games for your enjoyment.

WIFI/internet is available via the hub in the lounge area.

The apartment is gas centrally heated via a combination boiler with thermostatic controls that also supplies all of the hot water on demand.

All bed linen and towels are provided along with a welcome pack tea, coffee milk, sugar and biscuits.

There is a communal bike store that can be used to store bikes during your stay – please bring your own bike locks

There is a local shop, 4 local bars and a hotel that all offer food, all within walking distance

There are also regular bus services serving both Barnstaple and Bideford as well as a ferry service in the summer that will take you to Appledore

Why Ian Lev chose Instow

We have been holidaying in Instow for over 30 years, so we have really got to know the place – this is what prompted us to search for a holiday home that we would also use on a regular basis. We really wanted a home with a view looking out over the estuary as well as being able to enjoy Instow’s spectacular sunsets and had always admired the apartments in Chandlers Court, so when this apartment came onto the market we bought it, made it ours and have enjoyed it ever since.

We hope you enjoy your stay in our home as much as we enjoy our stays – it still brings a smile to our faces when we arrive, as we know we are in a wonderful place.

What makes this apartment unique

Moorings is managed locally with our weekly changeover day being on a Friday – you are asked to vacate the property by 10:00am, whilst new arrivals have access from 15:00pm. The management team can be contacted should you have any questions or problems regarding the accommodation prior, during and after your stay and will only be too pleased to respond.

Short breaks are available on request.

Instow is the ideal location, for getting away from your normal hustle and bustle. Whether it is a relaxing break, enjoying the beach or some activity such as walking, cycling or golf that is required - Instow offers it all. There are also plenty of places to eat and drink, some within walking distance, as well as a local store that can provide most items. Regular bus services to both Bideford and Barnstaple are available as well as a summer ferry service to Appledore.

Fantastic week in lovely Instow apartment

The apartment is in a great location for exploring North Devon and beyond being a 5 minute walk from the beach, less to the excellent deli and pub. It's a spacious and comfortable flat, very comfy beds, decent bathroom and helpful site manager. Fantastic view to the estuary although there is a yacht club building right in front of the block so you can't look straight out on the river - you look either side of the clubhouse. The Tarka Trail runs in front of the building, which is entertaining and ok for walking. We really appreciated the teabags, milk and biscuits when we arrived. Little gripes: only one teacloth and kitchen towel, no cleaning materials, one bin liner. It would have been good to know beforehand so we could bring those items. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Instow is situated on the estuary served by the rivers Taw and the Torridge, between Bideford and Barnstaple. Instow has its’ own beaches and sand dunes and enjoys spectacular views of Appledore and the estuary beyond as it goes out to meet the Atlantic Ocean.

The Moorings is found on the first floor of the middle block of Chandlers Court, which is off Marine Parade. Being on the first floor the apartment allows you to take in the spectacular views, especially from the balcony where you can enjoy al-fresco eating as well as a relaxing drink as you watch the amazing sunsets at the end of each day.

Instow itself, is a pretty coastal village having it’s own local store and cafe, a hotel, the North Devon Yacht Club, North Devon Cricket Club as well as 4 local hostelries, all of which will offer you a warm welcome.

The beaches are just minutes away, where you can enjoy a typical “beach day”, ideal for sunbathing, paddling, walking and watching the sailing boats. At the far end of the first beach is the Cricket Club, where you can watch a game on many of the days in summer. Past the Cricket Club as you venture up the estuary is the second beach beyond which are many paths on open land that join up with the Tarka trail.

The Tarka trail, which is well used by both cyclists and walkers, is right on your doorstep giving you the opportunity to explore the local area between Bideford and Barnstaple as well as further afield.

Instow is the ideal place to stay in North Devon, for either a relaxing break or as a base for enjoying many activities and visiting places of interest nearby.

Local attractions include Exmoor National Park, North Devon Golf Club, Saunton Sands Golf Club, Tarka Trail Cycle Way, Westward Ho and Croyde as well as Dartington Crystal, Tapeley Hall, the towns of Bideford, Barnstaple and Appledore
