About the property

This is our own holiday home for many years - completely refurbished in 2015.

The large plot in La Lluca has a yucca garden, ten tall pine trees, different fruit trees that bear fruit in different seasons (peaches, mandarins, oranges, lemons, pomegranates, apricots, figs) and is surrounded on both sides by a tall cypresses hedge. The villa is equipped with Internet, TV, DVD, CD. Each bedroom has an electric fan. One bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the other two share the other bathroom. There is central heating and an open fireplace available for winter lets. For the late summer there are also anti-mosquito screens in every room, on every window.

The villa is located near the main road: up the hill from the golf club, on a tiny, quiet road, and has very spacious parking behind the automated fence.

As you enter the front door step inside the entrance hall with a large arch leading to a spacious living room. On your right is the dining table with an arch to the kitchen area and on your left the lounge with fireplace. There are more arches, one of them leading straight into the spacious, shaded terrace (Naya) on the other side. There are steps leading down to the pool and garden area from here, or access with less steps can also be gained directly from the gate. Under the secluded, combined shade of a Peruvian pepper tree and an olive tree are the outdoor shower and stone barbecue area. The laundry area is spacious and separate from the house. Trampoline, swimming pool, swings, basketball area, outdoor warm shower, gas and stone barbecue.

About Carmen Clemente

We are a family of four. Erik is a Dutch professor and Carmen is a Spanish doctor. We live in London and speak English, Spanish, German, French, Dutch and Italian between us.

Why Carmen Clemente chose Xàbia

This has been our own holiday home for many years and we have completely refurbished it in 2015. We love our villa because

(1) it is on a hill facing the Mediterranean under pine trees, so no need for an airco.

(2) if you stroll half a mile up the hill you are alone in peaceful and serene natural surroundings.

(3) thanks to its central position on the peninsula fifteen different beaches are within 10 km and easily accessible.

Carmen is herself from Valencia and has spent many childhood summers in Javea.

This has been our own holiday home for many years and we have completely refurbished it in 2015.

The best aspects of the villa for us are

(1) it is on a hill facing the Mediterranean under pine trees, so it does not need an airco, not even in the Summer;

(2) if you stroll half a mile up the hill, leaving the Lluca villas behind you, you enter many acres of peaceful, lush countryside with great sea views and you will be accompanied only by birds, rabbits, pheasants,...;

(3) because of its central position on the Cabo de la Nao peninsula you can move North, East and South for the sea and have a whole variety of beaches to choose from. The closest is Javea’s sandy beach, l’Arenal, but you can also go to the rocky coves of Granadella, Portichol, Torre Ambolo, Benitatchell and many others, up North to the long Denia beaches or down south to the beautiful bays of Moraira, all within a 10k drive.

Perhaps we should add that we are a stone-throw distance from Javea’s golf course; moreover, at less than a mile Bonamb is a truly deserving 1-star Michelin restaurant with a changing and utterly sophisticated menu; and there are several other good restaurants nearby too.

The wider coastline is a hugely popular tourist area which means it is cram packed with attractions from secluded beaches to theme parks. You will never run out of places to visit.

The Costa Blanca is famous for its long stretches of sandy beaches. Javea is one of the most popular resorts on the Costa Blanca. It's rugged coastline is indented with secluded coves and sandy beaches. These hidden caves and bays were once used by pirates and smugglers in the Middle Ages but are now used by sunbathers, snorkelers and scuba divers.

Javea has been voted environmentally near perfect by the World Health Organisation and boasts 320 days of sunshine a year.
