About the property

Huge Apartment With 3 Bedrooms And 4 Bathrooms, Beautifully Decorated

Luxury apartment sleeping up to 6 people located on the top floor of a historical 'Palazzo' in the very center of Asolo.

The apartment measures 150 sqm and overlooks the magnificent Queen Cornaro’s Castle and the main square of the town.

Asolo is a spectacular medieval village, also known as the 'Pearl of Veneto’, offering a variety of cultural and artistic amenities in an area with an outstanding natural beauty: for centuries it has been frequented by illustrious people, such as Gabriele D'Annunzio, Eleonora Duse, Giosuè Carducci, Robert Browning, Ernest Hemingway, Henry James, Hugo von Hofmansthal, Freya Stark, Arnold Schoemberg and many others.

Asolo is close to some of the most beautiful world-famous Palladian Villas and is strategically located near important cities such as Treviso, Venice, Padua, Vicenza and Verona.

Thanks to its fine cuisine and excellent wines (don’t miss the ‘Colli Asolani Wine Road’, Valdobbiadene and the Cartizze hills), it is also the perfect destination for wine and great-food lovers.

Set in the main square of Asolo, this recently restored property has parquet floors, marbles in the bathrooms, high beamed ceilings and it is decorated in a very elegant, typically classic Italian style, with a particular attention for all details.

The apartment consists of a large, beautifully furnished living room with a very high beamed ceiling and a dining area with a table for 6. On the side, a modern & fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, toaster, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, kettle) and a guest bathroom.

There are three Bedrooms:

- one master bedroom with a double bed (160 cm) and en suite bathroom with bathtub. This bedroom overlooks the Castle, having the same view as the living room;

- one twin bedroom (80 cm + 80 cm: the beds can be joined together ) with en suite bathroom with shower;

- one bedroom with a French size bed (140 cm) with en suite bathroom with shower: this room is next to the kitchen and its wooden ceiling is not high as it is in the other bedrooms.

Both these two bedrooms overlook the main square of Asolo.

The apartment is also provided with a small laundry area (with washing machine, dryer, iron and iron board). Hair dryers are available in the bathrooms.

Important note: for security reasons the fireplace in the living room has to be kept as purely decorative and cannot be used; also the lofted area cannot be used by the Guests.

On the ground floor a storage room is also available for bicycles and golf equipments, and free wi-fi connection is provided throughout the building.

At the ground floor of the building the famous Caffè Centrale animates the central Piazza of the town.

Available Facilities: washing machine, clothes dryer, oven, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, internet – wireless, hairdryer, iron and board, heating, housekeeping and cook service available.

For those willing to take away a very special memory of their holiday, PHOTO SHOOTS can be arranged upon request to the owner.

Due to its elegant interiors, this apartment is suitable for photo shoots of the Guests (Family portraits, friends..) taken by a professional photographer at a special price.

A bit of history:

For centuries the famous “Caffè Centrale”, at the ground floor of the same building, has been frequented by illustrious figures, such as Gabriele D'Annunzio, Eleonora Duse, Giosuè Carducci, Robert Browning, Ernest Hemingway, Henry James, Hugo von Hofmansthal, Freya Stark, Arnold Schoemberg and many others.

Since 1796, the Palazzo has been hosting a cultural circle named “Società del Casino”, some of his members taking part in a conspiracy against Napoleon in 1808.

More recently, in the 20th Century, Hemingway used to be in Asolo after World War II, mostly between 1948 and 1954; in that period he met countess Adriana Ivancich and wrote “Across the River and into the Trees”.

He had previously lived in Veneto, in 1918, where he was helping our soldiers during World War I, particularly in Schio, Fossalta and Bassano.

Thanks to his efforts during the Great War, in 2012 the Comune of Fossalta has inaugurated a path (aimed to creating a ‘historical memory’ of the places where Hemingway stood during that terrible period, and where he was seriously injured.

Together with its spectacular surroundings, Asolo is a must-see destination set in one of the most interesting historical and artistic parts of the Veneto region. In the sixteenth century, with Veneto’s architect Andrea Palladio (1508 – 1580) a new type of mansion was born: the temple-villa, like the near-by Villa Barbaro in MASER.

The ‘Barco della Regina Cornaro’ In ALTIVOLE it is worth mentioning. This was the country residence of the former Queen of Cyprus Caterina Cornaro and was built at the end of the 15th Century, adorned with beautiful gardens, hunting grounds, canals and water games.

POSSAGNO is also very easy to reach: it is the home of the neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova, where his birth house and the ‘Gipsoteca’ temple can be visited in a truly inspirational environment.

CASTELFRANCO VENETO is renowned for being the birthplace of the famous painter Giorgione. Within its spectacular medieval walls, the ‘Museo Casa Giorgione’ allows visitors to explore the history and evolution of the town under the influence of this artist.

BASSANO DEL GRAPPA is a medieval city, well-known for its picturesque wooden bridge, the ceramic stores and the wine bars whereit is possible to taste the traditional distillate of the city, ‘grappa’. This alcoholic beverage has been made in the town's distilleries since 1779, when the ‘Nardini’ factory (still one of the most renowned, along with ‘Poli’) was founded.

Besides its centenary-old distilleries, the city is mostly renowned for Palladio’s ‘Ponte Vecchio’ (Old Bridge), probably one of the most famous symbols of Italy: architect Andrea Palladio was commissioned to design it in 1569.

Bassano is also noteworthy for the ‘Museo Civico’, one of the most ancient in Veneto, hosting over 500 paintings from the 13th Century to nowadays.

A few minutes away from Bassano stands MAROSTICA with its stunning human Chess Game. This famous game is the ultimate expression of a local tradition and a magical moment for this town, that is also known as the ‘City of Chess’.

We had a wonderful 2 week stay at this absolutely great apartment in the Center Piazza Garibaldi of Asolo. Francesca met us at the apartment

and upon entering we noticed how clean, well appointed and comfortable the apartment was. All things as presented on the rental site.

Convenient and close to everything you want to do in and around Asolo; Convenient grocery shopping, parking, lively walking trips, beautiful

scenery, calm and secure area. The apartment kitchen is very good if you desire to prepare some of your own meals. Everything worked in the

apartment, no problems. Clo. B and Francesca made everything work smoothly from booking to leaving. This is an excellent vacation rental property!!
