Overview

About the property

4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (including outside full shower-room), air conditioning,

Quality refurbishment completed! This charming traditional villa is in a great location. Known as Pont Roma because of its situation by the old Roman bridge right at the entrance to the historic town of Pollensa, is perfectly located for Pollensa’s fabulous Plaza Major with its pavement cafe bars, shops & restaurants (750m from the house meaning just a 10 minute walk). True to their word, the new owners have brought this property right up to date without sacrificing its local charm. Many extra features and facilities have been installed, including a third bathroom (super travertine tiled open shower, hand basin and WC on the first floor), Mitsubishi air conditioning to the bedrooms, High Speed WiFi internet access, attractive modernised kitchen, digital flat screen TV, new quality bedroom furniture throughout from John Lewis and El Corte Ingles, comfortable new sofas, and a new “Chill out” Space for youngsters.

Pont Roma boasts an excellent garden and pool, which is rather special in this part of town. The entrance to the property is situated on a “no through” road which offers easy parking. Serious walkers and hikers may be interested to know that this is at the start of an attractive and famous walking route to Lluc (a 4 hour journey through majestic scenery along the GR-221 Ruta de Piedra Seca (Dry Stone Route) with a dedicated Refugi is situated nearby, patronised by walkers and cyclists for its homemade and inexpensive meals and refreshments.

You enter the white painted property with its wood shuttered windows, through a gated entrance into the private garden where you will find a 8m x 4m swimming pool set in lawns, with Mallorquin style BBQ (almost a complete second kitchen in its own right), there are several seating / dining areas to enjoy the sun in both the morning and evening. The garden has its own special and intimate charm, it is lawned, with mature palms, shrubs, bushes and hedges, including bougainvillea and oleander, that provide great privacy and a beautifully green setting for the cosy villa nestling in the grounds. Alongside the BBQ and terrace is a garden shower-room and WC which is very convenient when around the pool, and provides an extra bathroom for larger groups.

Coming into the house through the main door, you step into a large entrance hall (4m x 6m) with comfortable new sofas, off this living area is the Snug, an inner sitting room with new flat screen TV, satellite channels and DVD player, and a selection of DVDs. Next door to the Snug is the cosy air conditioned fourth bedroom, with smart twin beds and covers, wardrobe and chest of drawers. To the right of the entrance hall, a door takes you into the large kitchen which has double aspect windows, and its own separate door out to the garden and terrace areas. The kitchen has a fresh and modern look, featuring a large breakfast table (set for 6 but extendable to 8 seats) and designer Jakobsen chairs. Naturally, it features a new fridge freezer and dishwasher, whilst retaining a traditional, separate large pantry.

Upstairs, there is the newly created “Chill out” Space for youngsters, three air conditioned bedrooms, two double (one with own romantic balcony terrace) and one large twin. The two bathrooms at opposite ends of the open hallway have their own style and feel, one has a full bath with shower screen and shower, hand basin unit and WC, and the other features a new marble, stone and tiled configuration straight out of a designer magazine.

Overall, the uniqueness of this property is its combination of convenient location, a charming appearance, and the enclosed garden and the calmness it offers, that make Pont Roma an oasis surrounded by vibrant village life, with all the amenities on hand (bakery and grocer within a couple of hundred metres).

Amenities: Plaza Major, shops, and restaurants all a comfortable walk away, bike and scooter hire nearby, Golf (9 holes) 1km, Tennis and horse riding Pollensa.

Beaches: the long white beaches of Puerto Pollensa, and the bays and coves of Cala San Vicente are just a ten minute drive.

Superb Amazing Family Holiday!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This villa was in a perfect location to get into Pollensa Old Town

the Accommodation was superb including the pool area and manicured gardens.

outside bbq kitchen with fridge and dishwasher was of a very high standard even though we didn't get round to using it.

If we chose to come back to Pollensa we would definitely stay here again. Furniture in the villa to a very high standard the owners have thought of everything our Grand Children loved it so much they cried when we had to leave yesterday.

Quirky house with beautiful garden and fabulous location

  • 4 of 5

Three generations of our family stayed in casa Pont Roma aged from late 20 to early 80s and had a wonderful holiday.. The outside space was particularly appreciated and the provision of the table tennis table was a fun addition for the more energetic. The house allowed for separate spaces to be sociable or watch TV without disturbing the rest of the party. It would have been good to have a downstairs toilet which was not outside as the stairs were quite steep. The location was great, within walking distance of the pretty town.

Fabulous Villa - great for family holidays

  • 4 of 5

Firstly the location is great, it is right on the edge of the old town which means that it is a short stroll to the numerous shops, bars and restaurants. You get a bit of passing traffic but this is not a problem.

The villa was spotlessly clean and very well appointed with modern furnishings and appliances, the walk in shower is a nice touch. The rooms are a little small, which is to be expected of a villa located so near to the centre of town, but this is more than made up for by the fantastic outdoor space.

The garden is very large and on one level which is important for the children, it is lovingly maintained so is a joy to be in. The pool is a good size and shallow at one end, again important for the children, there are plenty of sun loungers which is always important. The outdoor kitchen and BBQ area is amazing, we used the outside dining family table all the time, it is nicely shaded with a great view over the garden.

You will need a car to visit the beaches but I would recommend this anyway so you can explore some of the less busy beaches around the north and east of Majorca.

I'd fully recommend this villa to anyone who is looking for a family holiday where you like making the most of the villa, you can easily spend days in the garden enjoying the sun and surroundings.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for the review, they are very much appreciated. A car is beneficial if you want to do a bit of touring around and handy if you want to do a big shopping trip to the supermarket. There is a regular bus service from the old town to Puerto Pollensa and Cala Sant Vincent therefore if you just want to reach the beach then you can use the bus and avoid hiring a car. We can also recommend English speaking taxi drivers that you can call to collect and drop you off. If you want to explore then a car is essential but if you just want to get to and from the nearest beaches then you can get away without hiring one if you wanted to.

Perfect house, perfect visit. Pollensa Town.

  • 5 of 5

This house when described to us by Villavida sounded perfect and fit our criteria of Pool, Garden, BBQ, few stairs, well appointed rooms and of a high quality. It delivered this and so much more.

To find a house like this in Pollensa with a lovely garden and good sized pool centrally to bars and restaurants was a big ask.

The house is beautiful. Clearly the owners have invested a lot of time and money to make this a home and not just a holiday let. From the tasteful décor, good sized rooms and fully equipped kitchen, we wanted for nothing. The outdoor space for us was fantastic. An entire kitchen outdoors with BBQ, hob and even a dishwasher. Fully fitted bathroom, sun loungers with fluffy beach towels and even its own lemon tree and herb garden.

Everything was well maintained both inside and outside with constant hot water, immaculately clean and just delightful. The pictures really do not do the property justice. The agent visited to make sure we had everything we needed and had a great local knowledge of the Town and surrounding area.

With only a 10 minute walk from the house to the main square it's very convenient for that all important tapas lunch and people watching. A bakery with freshly hot baked bread for breakfast is only 2 mins away as is a local bar literally next to the old roman bridge.

Set in stunning scenery with a backdrop of mountains and the acid greenery of vines we could not have been happier in our choice of Villa. Highly recommended. Hasta Pronto Casa Pont Roma.

Casa Pont Roma, Pollenca. Delivered every promise.

  • 5 of 5

Four adult siblings and our lovely Mum stayed at Casa Pont Roma. My criteria was very specific as Mum doesn't walk far or many stairs! The villa fit the bill perfectly. 4 lovely bedrooms. 2 doubles and two twins. Ideal for two families sharing, group of friends or large family. Stunning setting on the edge of town. Easy walking (10 mins) to the main square, no steps!

The villa delivered every promise. From beautifully appointed rooms, a fully equiped kitchen to a good sized pool set in a well tended garden, complete with lemon tree and herb garden! Sun loungers with fluffy beach towels. BBQ, 4 ring hob, fridge, sink and even a dishwasher and washing machine! A bathroom with shower and loads of hot water! Total outdoor living!

We have had such an amazing time staying at Casa Pont Roma and can't wait to return.

The owners have clearly invested time and money into this property. The quality and thoughtful touches make this a home you want to enjoy and make memories in. Hasta pronto!!
