About Helen Kirk and Alan Chapman
Alan and I love this area. We have beautiful scenery and incredible national parks, gorges, crags, valleys, all accessible and enjoyable by people of all ages. Our Spanish friends and neighbours are wonderful and welcoming and we feel after 13 years that this is truly our home.
Helen Kirk and Alan Chapman purchased this villa in 2002
Why Helen Kirk and Alan Chapman chose Guadalhorce (Costa del Sol)
We couldn't resist this property, which has stunning views over the valley to El Torcal and la Huma mountain ranges. The old farmhouse has charm and warmth and we were fortunate to have permission to build a large property to the rear which is available for visitors. It is spacious traditional in style but has all the modern equipment. It is great people of all ages.
What makes this villa unique
Very easy access, no long winding tracks - we wanted to be within easy reach of shops, restaurants and other people. And we now have a pretty good bus service between Alora and El Chorro - brilliant!

Lovely spacious accommodation in great setting
The accommodation is spacious and has everything you need, the pool is lovely, nice to relax beside after a hot day, Helen and Alan were so friendly and helpful giving us all the local information we needed. Alora is a typical Spanish town , great to walk around and great Tapas bars! El Chorro climbing was very accessible and the scenery was stunning. Lovely place, would recommend it to anyone.
We stayed in the house for a week in April. Helen and Alan provided a friendly greeting and a welcome pack of provisions that allowed us to refresh and relax without having to rush out to the shops. The house is very well equipped and provided everything we could possibly need. It’s a perfect home from home. Alan and Helen were always willing to offer friendly advice and recommendations for eating out or places to visit. We enjoyed their laid back approach and the lovely relaxing environment they have created at Casa los Olivos.
A fantastic fortnight in the Guadalhorce Valley
A fabulous spot that has become a home from home over the last few years. Helen and Alan are wonderful hosts and the casa is just the most comfortable place to stay. The bedrooms are airy and cool and the living space is well laid out with room to cook in comfort and then relax with a book in front of the wood burner on cooler nights. Warmer days are equally welcome starting with a breakfast of deliciously ripe avocados and freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning sun with views of the Huma massif towering over El Chorro followed by long lazy evenings sharing a meal and a bottle of wine after cycling and walking in the surrounding hills. It just cannot be bettered.

Stayed for our 2nd week of a two week holiday. unbelievably relaxing. Was worried kids might get bored but, they were far from it. Accommodation was terrific, clean and spacious. would defiantly return. Trusted and very helpful
A really well equipped casa
This was one of the best equipped holiday homes in which we have stayed. The hosts are absolutely lovely and help you to get the most out of your stay without being intrusive. All the basics are supplied for cooking, washing or the dishwasher plus really good pool towels to use in the excellent pool. The bathrooms were especially good, spacious and clean, and all the rooms were large and comfortable.
Alora is a lovely town with the best tapas bar we have come across in Spain (De Knas) and a good supermarket (Mercadona); it is very Spanish in feel and on September15th there was an amazing parade and festival in town.
The local area is quite spectacular to explore (you need a car) and very unspoilt.

Activity and Interests
VTAR/MA/01267. Between the Caminito del Rey at El Chorro and the lovely white hill town of Álora, Casa Los Olivos is a spacious Villa with pool.in the grounds of Finca Los Llanos. The Caminito del Rey (The Kings Walk) has been replaced and is now a safe but still exhilerating experience. El Chorro is famous for world class rock climbing, and Álora is an historic white hill town that has retained its charm with narrow streets, small shops and busy market days every Monday. There are restaurants, tapas and coffee bars, and wonderful views of the mountains surrounding the most beautiful part of the Guadalhorce Valley green all year round with orange and lemon trees. It also enjoys an excellent rail link to Malaga, Cordoba, Sevilla etc. and good motorway links to inland towns of Antequerra, Ronda, and Granada. The historic old town of Málaga is worth a day trip by train, the beaches along the Costa del Sol and the mountains and climbing at El Chorro are all within easy reach by road. Ideal location for exploring the countryside, towns and cities of Andalucia, and the Ardales Lakes are beautiful and close by. This area offers sport, scenery, lakes, mountains, the sea, great food, amazing transport links and wonderful weather.
Other Activities: canyoning, motor cycle touring
Golf: There are a number of golf courses in the vicinity but we don't have any 'on the doorstep' Alhaurin Golf is about 30 minutes away and we can provide more information on golf course and prices on request
