Lovely place and perfect terrace.
Adrian gave us very clear and useful instructions prior to our departure date. Upon arrival, the house itself was clean and sheets and towels provided. Even though the house itself was rather small, all amenities were up to our expectations. The airco was a treat allowing us to go to bed in a cool room, no problems with the Wi-Fi. And the - very large and covered - terrace was just perfect. We practically lived on it during our stay. The only minus was the television, which did not work very well. Under normal circumstances, we would not even consider this to be a minus, as we do not watch television during the holidays. But as we were in Portiragnes-plage just when the Tour de France was on ... The - sandy - beach is only a 10-minute walk from the house and if, on occasion, we wanted to take more than just a few items with us, the parking right next to the beach is free of charge. Portiragnes itself is a perfect base for visiting places such as Agde, Béziers, Montpellier, Pézenas and many others. In short, we really enjoyed our stay.

Portiranges - clos les scorroco
This property is on a complex of 188 other properties. Swimming pool is the smallest we have experienced on 20 years holidays in France, no sun beds or umbrellas. The property is described as having cable/satellite tv but this is a misrepresentation as out of 2 weeks we had barely 2 days of tv. We were also withou Wifi for a few days. We carried out a few minor repairs, toilet wouldn't flush, loose toilet seat, towel hook in downstairs loo fallen off. No spare light bulbs. Very little literature of what is on in the area, no books, no maps. No instructions for kitchen equipment. We have always had this on previous holidays. This complex is suited for families with young children who enjoy going to the beach. You cannot take your car right up to the property, which is at the furthest point of the complex. Due to it being right on the corner, if it is windy, sitting outside is not comfortable. The patio are is well shaded and a lot of the time patio is in the shade.

Superb villa. Top notch.
The villa is very well equipped throughout and can comfortably cater for four people with the capacity to cater for six. It was clean and tidy on arrival wth fresh linen provided. The villa matched the owners decription. Well secured with a key pad system. The addition of multi channel TV catering for many nationalities is a big plus as is the provision of a multi room air conditioning system. Well placed within the domaine to provide you with loads of privacy ie not overlooked. Covered patio area with beautiful eating and sun lounger furniture and bbq added to our enjoyment of the villa. Close to beach and all other amenities. There is a beach bar which is only a 10 minute walk offered us the chance to relax with a latte or local wine or stronger and offered up a superb dining experience at lunch and evening. A plethora of cafes and restaurants and shops are but a ten minutes walk away. Felt safe and secure throughout the holiday. An absolute pleasure to stay in.

Great location within complex
We spent 6 days at Adrian's place visiting my stepson who is working locally for the summer. The villa is in a great location just on the edge of town so away from too much noise but just a 10 mi walk from the bars restaurants and beach when u want them. The villa is great with aircon in the bedrooms and lounge which was really good. It is furnished with everything u would need and comes with nice crisp sheets and fluffy towels. We had a problem with the wifi not working when we arrived - which with a partner who needed to work and two teenagers was a nightmare - but Adrian got it all sorted within 24hrs so no major disaster. A great break which was not long enough - so hope to return !

Brilliant South of France stay. Great property
We booked with Adrian, the owner, via his site and the pictures, don't tell the whole story. They looked good, and once we had decided on the location, we chose Adrian's villa in the South of France. The villa is just lovely, has everything you need for 2 weeks including a washing machine. We had amazing weather 40+ degrees every day and the odd thunderstorm at night, which lit up the sky in spectacular form. The beds are comfy, the A/C works a treat (and is much needed in the hot sun) and the covered area in the outside seating area, was great, as it kept the glare of the sun away, and we could sit outside from morning till late at night. We had to contact Adrian a couple of times, just about local things like where to eat, and he always answered swiftly by email. Brilliant owner really, he was great in the lead up to the holiday, providing us with enough info and whenever we had a question, he answered tirelessly. Property is delightful, clean, and spacious, the corner plot is great, as it is so private, with no one looking onto you. The BBQ is amazing, much easier to clean than a stand BBQ or a gas one. The charcoal taste is lovely and it is so easy to shop for fish, chicken or steak. Plentiful shops nearby either daily in the village, or larger supermarkets dotted around (including Aldi and Lidl). Plenty of places to pick up cheap wine (and good at that as well). Lots of places to visit, and a list in the villa of what to do as well. Walking to the beach was simple and no more than 10 minute, it is that close and the beach bar is brilliant for food and drink, the prices were very reasonable as well (for the South of France). We would love to go back, and have nothing but brilliant memories of the villa and the surrounding area. We went to spend as much time on the beach, with our girls (11/17) and we managed that, with about 11 days straight at the beach. Perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. The shared pool is nice enough, but not much shade at the pool, so just be aware of that. Descriptions are on point and accurate, but overall, just brilliant, and Adrian is such a good owner, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa to friends or family and indeed we have done that already. La Gambille, just off the Canal Du Midi, is well worth a visit. If you take bikes, it is just over 5 miles each way from the villa, and the food, atmosphere and ambience is brilliant.

My family and I came here in 2003 on holiday and loved the place so much that we decided to buy a holiday home here in Portiragnes Plages. This was built and ready to move into in 2004. We have been coming here each year since.

Why they chose this property

This is a relaxing place with no high rise and is a family centred resort. Lots of local French people own holiday villas here. The Languedoc region supplies wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables throughout each season. The property is beside a blue flag beach (15 years of blue flags continued in 2019). There are no bulldozers, no high rise and very little development. It is beside the Canal du Midi which is a Unesco World Heritage Site.

What makes this property unique

You will enjoy Portiragnes Plages if you are looking for a good rest, lots of sunshine, sandy beaches, safe and clean Mediterranean Sea for swimming, good restaurants, excellent local food and wine and a relaxed atmosphere. Yet, there is lots to do for the family from cycling, horse riding, tennis, boating, sailing, wind surfing, football, local water park, local funfair and visiting local historical sites.
It is also possible during the summer season to go on daily bus excursions exploring the region. Details can be obtained at the tourist office in the village square.
