About the property

3 Bedroom bungalow with lovely garden in pretty village 5 mins walk from beach

Sunways is a recently decorated bungalow in the pretty village of Trevone, Cornwall, and is available for the perfect holiday all year round. Enjoy yourselves by taking it easy on the golden sandy beach, swimming or surfing in the Atlantic Ocean, fishing in the rock pools, or hiking the coastal footpaths.

Sunways can sleep up to 5 people in comfortably sized bedrooms. Enjoy relaxing in the spacious living room which offers the coziness of an open fire in the winter. Prepare meals in a well equipped kitchen with a view and eat together around a table in the charming dining room complete with original pantry. The generous garden in the front includes ample parking space while the large garden at the back of the house is private and sheltered from the wind, catching the sun’s rays for most of the day. A small stream flows at the end of the garden. There is also a patio area that’s perfect for barbeques overlooking the view across the valley towards Padstow. From the bungalow it is an easy 5 minute walk to the beach, so there is no need to pack up your car for the day. Sunways is happy to accommodate up to 2 medium sized dogs, as we understand that pets are part of the family too. We have tried our best to kit Sunways out with everything you might need to make your stay an enjoyable one.

Trevone has always been a popular holiday spot. It is surrounded by picturesque farming countryside and boasts beaches and cliffs that remain untouched Cornish beauty at its best. In the village you can find a farm shop, the local pub and the beach shop and café. Trevone’s sandy beach, which is also known as Porthmissen Beach, has a lifeguard and is dog free during the summer season. The rocky beach, with its natural swimming pool and rock pools, is dog friendly all year round. A walk to the famous Round Hole is a must. Trevone Beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for quality of environment and water purity.

Sunways has 1 double bedroom with en suite toilet, 1 twin bedroom with 2 single beds and 1 single bedroom with 1 single bed, sleeping a maximum of 5, 1 bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen and porch/boot room. Sunways is equipped with: TV, DVD, Wifi, fridge freezer, washer dryer, dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, central heating, open fireplace (winter only), shower (no bath).

About Tessa Shorr

On a personal note I would like to mention that Sunways was my family home, the house I grew up in. I have many fond memories of a childhood spent in Trevone. As kids my friends and I spent our time mostly outdoors. For us the summer holidays were the best time of the year. We would head off for the day, sometimes hanging out at the swimming pool on Rocky Beach, sunbathing and swimming at Sandy Beach or wandering around the cliffs, returning home late in the evening tired and hungry!

To this day, as soon as I cross the Tamar into Cornwall, I feel that tug in my heart. The rugged beauty of Cornwall calling me home. The fields full of cows and sheep, the moors, the unspoilt coastline with views that take your breath away, the magic of the sea and incomparable sunsets. Not to mention the air, it’s hard not to notice how clean and fresh the air is. Sunways and Trevone will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope that visitors to Sunways will also get to feel the beauty of this place and enjoy all that it has to offer and take home memories of a fun filled yet relaxing holiday.

Lovely family home

  • 4 of 5

I stayed at Sunways with my partner and 3 children and my 2 dogs. It is a lovely house and well equipped with everything you need for a self catering break. Trevone is a beautiful place and has plenty of places to visit. I would definitely return to The Sunways when we can . Thankyou

Great family holiday at Sunways, Trevone

  • 5 of 5

We've had a fantastic 2 weeks family holiday at Sunways (travelling with 3 kids - aged 15, 13, 8). Sunways is a lovely bungalow, only a 5 minute walk from the beach. It has everything we needed for a family beach holiday, was very comfortable, real home from home with large garden and great views across the fields, BBQ in the garden and a very useful boot room for drying beach towels and wetsuits.

Trevone Bay is a perfect beach village - with safe, sandy beach with lifeguards, great for body boarding (some days had the most amazing waves!), but also good for younger children as the Bay is shallow at high tide. There's also an extensive rocky beach perfect for rock pooling and a natural swimming pool - all accessible via a short walk along the roads in the village. Up on the cliff is a blow hole - bit of a local natural attraction and is a nice walk along the coastal path to see it and then beyond (can follow it all the way to Padstow). The village itself has a well stocked surf shop selling and hiring out wet suits, boards, canoes, with cafe including take-away. There are toilets for the beach (20p). There's also a lovely Farm Shop 2 mins walk from Sunways, selling all the essentials including fresh bread/scones/pasties from Chough's Bakery in Padstow and some gifts. Finally the Well Parc Hotel is well worth a visit for lunch or dinner (again 5 mins walk from Sunways) - it's got a lovely "local pub" atmosphere, with darts, pool and cards going on. It appears to be a real family business, very laid back but welcoming, and the food is all home cooked and excellent! We visited Padstow several times - we did crabbing, shopping, walking along the coastal path and we had 2 fishing trips (4 hour wreck and reef - less suitable for younger children - we caught pollock which we filleted ourselves and had for tea!) and a 2 hour mackerel trip for everyone (again, filleted and eaten!). Best fish and chips is Chip Ahoy in Padstow, or Fryer Tucks on the road to St Merryn. We also took trips to Newquay, The Eden Project (about 45 min drive), Hidden Valley near Launceston (45 mins drive and brilliant for all ages), Port Isaac - and being so close to the beach we went every day when the sun was out. We are very sad to leave, and would love to come back.

The property was clean, tidy and well equipped. It is in a lovely location about 5 minute from beach

  • 4 of 5

The property is a clean and tidy bungalow in a very quiet location about a 5 minute walk from the beach. It is very well equipped with everything you could need. We had a lovely relaxing time here. Trevone village is a high class area with good quality properties. We got the impression most of the properties are owned by elderly people or used as holiday lets. There is a pub/hotel in the village, also a shop and farm shop. The only negative impressions of the property were: The double bed was very soft and uncomfortable especially for my wife who suffers from a bad back. Also our dog was able to escape at the rear due to the hedge having been closely cut. Overall our stay was very enjoyable. Thank you.

Perfect for a young family needing 'beach time'

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Sunways. There was plenty of space for my wife and I along with our three kids. Everything we needed was here including a great garden with loads of space. The location was excellent as road was quiet but only a couple of minutes walk to Trevone Beach. We will definitely stay here again and are looking forward to it!!
