The estate is big enough that you are sure that your children are far away from roads, & other dangers.

It is however, small enough, in that you will soon get to know your fellow holidaymakers & their families.

Particularly popular is the large solar heated pool, & play - barn for toddlers.

Nancy & Peter will be on hand throughout your stay to ensure your comfort & enjoyment.

The Properties

All the properties are self contained & are situated around a grassy courtyard. Bed linen is included in the price, as is a welcome pack, which provides the food items to “get you going.”

Children welcome & catered for.: Book now for 2014 at the same rate until the new tariff is released.

This charming and comfortable family cottage is just off the courtyard and beside a grassy path leading to the village. It has a large living/dining room with satellite TV and a well equipped fitted kitchen including gas cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge/freezer. The bathroom, with full size bath and shower, is on the ground floor. Upstairs there are three bedrooms; a large double bedroom and two twin bedrooms. Outside there is a secluded and private terraced garden with garden furniture and a large BBQ

Lovely: tranquil and pretty holiday home

We had a lovely stay at Le Manoir with beautiful weather. The Manor house and it's outbuilding have been sympathetically renovated, with plenty of space outside for children to explore and couples to relax. The house is a good distance from the pool so there are no safety worries, there is a play barn with toys for pre-schoolers, a climbing frame and swings for little ones, and a games barn for bigger ones. We stayed in the term-time when the other guests were couples, and our children could roam around without disturbing them. In the holidays, I think it would be a great space for your children to get to know the other holiday makers (but only if they wanted to). The restaurant in the village is a very easy walk, with beautiful French cuisine in the evenings. There are plenty of child friendly attractions within an hour's drive. We enjoyed paddling in the river at Limieul, followed by lunch and then a quick canoe trip (children ages 3 and 5). The owners were very friendly, and even identified a valuable piece of camera kit that we hadn't realised we had left behind, and posted it on to us. This is a quiet holiday in beautiful countryside for a family or couple who are looking for peaceful surroundings, a heated pool, and the occasional sightseeing tour to lovely old French towns and villages (and markets).

We spent a long time researching the area with no prior prejudices, or favourites, so that you need look no further! Le Manoir De St. Marcel is absolutely in the right geocentric location for your visit to the Dordogne! To the West you have the vineyards of Bergerac, & further on, St. Emillion. To the South, just a 15 minute ride to the River Dordogne, with all the chateaux, forts & canoeing it has to offer. To the East Sarlat, & the popular sites of the Dordogne. Finally, 20 minutes to the North is Perigueux, a wonderful old city. Yes! - You will find Le Manoir De St. Marcel is ideally located for your holiday. - Many guests return year after year. - They know!

There is a wealth of historic towns, markets & other attractions to visit.

The 5 properties are nestled around a grassy quadrangle. Built in the local sandstone, they form a picturesque backdrop for your holiday. Well away from public roads they provide a beautiful, safe, environment for you, your family, & dog.
