Shawnigan House vacation rental is a 3 Bedroom, 2 bathroom house on a large forested property located in Shawnigan Village near Lake, shops and restaurants.

A 40 minute drive to Victoria.

An 8 minute drive to Mill Bay, Cowichan Bay is an 18 minute drive.

Kinsol Trestle is a 30 minute Bicycle ride.

A full Kitchen with a stove top oven, a refrigerator-freezer, a toaster, a microwave oven, a kettle, a simple coffee maker and a barbecue on the deck.

Please note that a dishwasher is not included with this rental. For guests who choose not to wash dishes a service fee will be charged.

A large Living room with basic cable TV. Free Wi-Fi. Not all channels are guaranteed to be available.

An energy efficient wood stove, as well as electric heating.

A laundry room with clothes washing machine and dryer (extra cost).

Located in wine country and also near the famous Kinsol Trestle.

Bedding with hypoallergenic comforters, sheets and linen.

King en-suite offers guests a large 2 person tub which is difficult for elderly, handicapped to enter. Children only permitted while together with a parent.

Have privacy, the owner manager lives in a cottage next door.

Electrical consumption for daily rentals is limited to $6.50 of electrical power per day. Extra electrical charges may be asked for electric power consumption in excess of the daily limit at $0.1295 per Kwh. To avoid extra electrical charges please limit heating and hot water use and turn off electrical items when not in use.

For weekly rates the electrical power is extra cost. The electrical power is metered by BC Hydro and the data is available online from manager. The rate is cost average of $0.1295 per Kwh.

By detailing the electrical costs will enable lower daily and weekly for those who choose to conserve energy. If electrical cost were to be fully included in the rental rates the rental rates would be far less competitive as the potential for high electrical power consumption would have to be factored in.

Located on a large forested property 8 minutes walk to Village shops, take outs and Shawnigan Lake.

There is privacy, forested areas and a wonderful house.

Kinsol trestle is an 8 minute drive, Cobble Hill, Cowichan Bay and Mill Bay are near. Victoria is about a 40 minute scenic drive.

Located in wine-country.

Some animals and birds come and go seasonally.

What makes this house unique

Get an entire house not just a room. Kitchen, dinning, living and family rooms and laundry is available.

Rent the house using all three bedrooms, or one or two bedrooms depending on your needs.

Price is adjusted to the number of persons staying for an affordable stay even for a single traveler.

A good location to visit Victoria, Cowichan Bay, Mill Bay, Cobble Hill, Duncan, Nanaimo and also a good location for visiting wineries, Kinsol Trestle, and also for hiking, fishing, bird watching and cycling.

Occasionally, we see birds and animals. Sometimes there might be Deer, Rabbits, Squirrels, Ravens in the area, and different species of birds too, which are seen at different times of the year.

The sundeck has chairs, a table and a Barbeque.

We stayed at the vacation rental which is know as Moon Over Shawnigan for 1 week. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is set on a large property with many large trees. It is like being in a forest. The house was very comfortable. The trees in summer are very refreshing, there is no need for air conditioning. The cedar trees give a very pleasant fresh air feeling.

We enjoyed using the barbeque on the sundeck.

The location is very good. It is in a rural area, but it is also only a 8 minute walk to the village. The village has several good choices for a meal and also grocery shopping and a cute little coffee shop with bakery all just a short walk from the house.

We enjoyed our stay and we hope to return again. The Cowichan valley has so many things to do, for example; we went to a winery for lunch and wine tasting, we went hiking on the trans Canada trail, and we went boating in Mill Bay. It was fun.

Very nice

What a gem of a place! If your looking to kick back..enjoy the wood burning stove..and cozy around the outdoor fire pit this is it! Ample room for all your friends and family..truly a BC wilderness experence..private but close enough for shopping and supplies if you run out. I deffinatly will be back and would recommend to any one i know. Robert was very accomidating and a real sweetheart..thanks Rob..Shane and Michelle

Didn't spend much time at the house as we were busy doing other things but the beds were very comfortable and the house was spacious for the 4 of us.

FYI: If your planning on doing laundry, there is a fee of $8 per load and you'll have to let the owner Robert know and he will come and unlock the door for you... he lives in the carriage house next door and is usually around. The dishwasher is also out of commission so you will be hand washing anything you use.

All in all, a very comfortable place to stay, 10 minutes from a little town with groceries, restaurants, gas and all your amenities... And approx 5-10 minutes to a beach.
