About this property

The Ballyhoo is a ground floor cottage located on Bean Point at the very tip of Anna Maria Island. Around the corner, (200 feet away) is the Rod and Reel Pier and beach. A classic 1940s old Florida fishing pier. The pier is an excellent place to see all our local wildlife, dolphins, herons, pelicans, and if you are lucky, maybe a manatee. The pier offers some of the best fishing on the island. A family friendly place with very good food and drink. With panoramic views of Tampa Bay, the Skyway, Egmont Key and civil war era lighthouse, it's not to be missed. Take one our provided bikes or walk to nearby historic Pine Ave. where you'll find your choice of 12 restaurants, shops, art galleries and Roser Church built in 1913 by the inventor of the Fig Newton. While on Pine Ave. don't forget to visit the Anna Maria City Jail and the Anna Maria City Pier. At the City Pier you will find a free trolley that will take you anywhere on the island and back, trolley leaves approximately every half hour. The Ballyhoo is perfect for weekend getaways, fishing, shelling, or just relaxing and getting away from it all! Everything is included except food, your bathing suit and toothbrush! Come relax with us and have fun!

Perfect Home and Location

We had a fantastic stay at Ballyhoo, the location is perfect, less than 5 minutes walk to Rod and Reel pier to watch the beautiful sunrises and to do a bit of fishing using the fishing rods from the house. It is about 10 minutes walk to city pier and the end of pine avenue and took us about 25 minutes to walk to the Sandbar for a meal and catch the sunset. The home was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed and more for the 3 of us, we used the bikes for a ride around the island. It was very good having the list of information in the cupboard if you needed to know anything, the wifi was brilliant and the bed was super comfy. Check in and checking out was easy and communication with Ed was very easy and he always answered quickly if you needed to know anything, he is also very helpful with suggesting things and places you might want to do before you arrive. We 100% recommend staying here for anyone looking to stay at the north end of the island. Our biggest regret is not staying longer but we plan to return and stay for longer next time.

Lovely little place and close to all amenities......

Very clean, extremely well equipped with all the stuff you need. Beds were very comfortable and all facilities worked as they should. Owner was on hand with any queries or problems, we didn’t have any. We only stayed three nights but would happily stay again. The only small quibble is that the BBQ was not cleaned from the last use. We had no problem cleaning it but think it should have been checked. More than happy to return and highly recommend this place.......

Lovely little cottage with everything you need in great location. Very close the beach and pier.

We enjoyed staying here. Used the bikes everyday. Walked down to watch the sunsets. Wished we could stay another week. We had a very relaxing stay as it’s a quiet part of the island. People very friendly and plenty of nice restaurants and cafes a short bike ride away. Can highly recommend this cottage.

Peaceful location with know hassle

Ballyhoo was a very comfortable property and Ed Had thought of everything to make our stay a pleasant one.we did leave the car at home and had great fun riding the bicycles and jumping on and off the free trolley bus. We were just a two minute walk to the beautiful beaches and the Rod & Reel Pier for great food & drink or just to sit and watch all the wild life,in a great atmosphere ,we had a wonderful time thank you Ed Jill & George from the UK

Great spot on AMI

Communication, cleanliness and convenience to beaches and the town were superb! Everything we needed was available. Ed’s responsiveness was top-notch. Can’t wait to be back again next year for the month ☺️
