Had a wonderful 4 days in your beautiful yurt..

I have nothing bad to say about it..

It was such a peaceful, creative, nurturing space... in a stunning out of this world location..

I came home rejuvenated and refreshed... I would recommend it to anyone searching for true tranquility.

I'll be back! Thank you anna xx

Heaven is.......

Heaven is.......Anna's Place!!

Its hard to find the words to conjure up the magic of this special place, a little idyll nestled in the mountains, wrapped by moorlands with stone circles on your doorstep.

We stayed in the farmhouse with its fireside snug and skylight windows to watch the stars at night! Blissful...infact so blissful we are back at Christmas to do it all again!! Thats the thing about this place, it captures your heart.

We also hired the yurt as part of a weekend gathering. Nestled in its own little secret garden its a wonderful escape from the world. It might be called the yurt with it all for it comes with its own kitchen, shower and compost loo. Anna's special touches are everywhere from her beautiful artwork in the cottage to little tealights in the loo! Who could ask for more....

Part of us would like to keep this place secret from the rest of the world but that would mean others missing out on something so very special.

The biggest thankyou goes to Anna for creating such a peaceful retreat for us to keep coming back to again and again!

Lovely Place

  • 5 of 5

I have done two retreats at Trallwyn Bach, and both were great. It has a lovely view over the moor. Although there's not much space to move around in, for one or two people, it's fine and very cosy. The area is very beautiful. If you're looking for something peaceful and unusual, this could well be for you. I recommend it.

Wonderful unique Converted Cowshed

  • 5 of 5

We felt so lucky to have stumbled across such a treasure, we almost want to keep it to ourselves!!

It's such a stunning setting, surrounded by hills, moor and stone-circle, and the building itself is like nowhere else we've stayed before.

It was so relaxing, we will definitely be back!

Thank you anna....

Perfect family Cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with the building which surpassed all our exceptions, even better than the photos. The architectural design is incredible, we have never before stayed in such a beautiful cottage.

The location being right next to the moor, meant it was easy to walk right from the door up into the hills. The children loved the sheep and wild pony's and we all enjoyed collecting firewood for our evening camp-fire.

The children are still talking about the pottery they made with Anna during our stay at Trallwyn.

We thoroughly recommend the Converted Cowshed for couples and family, can't wait to return soon.

Schöner Urlaub in einem ganz besonderen Haus

  • 5 of 5

About Anna Kavanagh

Anna moved to Pembrokeshire in the late '80's and has gradually created a number of beautiful places to stay. Originally from London it was always her dream to live somewhere wild and beautiful. She trained originally in Bristol to teach nursery/infants and special needs children and studied ceramics.

Part of the motivation behind moving to the area was to enable her children to go to the local Steiner School, Nant-y-Cwm which is just four miles away.

Ashera Pottery opened in '95. It is here that Anna works...inspired by the natural world and landscape around her...to paint...to pot...to build...Each year she does more teaching...there seems to be a real need for people to get in touch with their creative side...and for children and whole families to spend time together...making things...she enjoys passing on her skills...working with small groups and when weather permits outside...

For Anna one of the main delights of living here is the wonderful view with ever changing colours. The big skies and the red kites and the song of skylarks...

'One of my favourite treats is to watch the sun setting beyond the moor and the new Moon rising.'

As well as enjoying the immediate and magical surroundings of Trallwyn Anna loves the coves and beaches which are abundant in this part of the world. In 2002 Anna bought an old village house in Polopos Village Southern Spain...which she thinks of as a perfect compliment to Wales...She now spends some of the cooler months in a warmer climate...

Pottery teaching is usually available in the months when Anna is in Wales which includes most of the high Summer season...

Anna Kavanagh purchased this cottage in 1989

Trallwyn Cottages + Yurt are situated in the foothills of the Preseli Mountains, in the heart of the bluestone country. The setting is idyllic with direct access to the moor and mountains with it's sheep and wild ponies. Gors Fawr 5000 year old stone circle is just 5 minutes walk from the cottage, and a 2 hour walk takes you up to the quarry on Carn Meini where the bluestones were taken to make the inner ring of stonehenge. Ideal for walkers and people looking to truly get away from it all.

The beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline hosts the most spectacular scenery and beaches as well as wildlife. The cottages are situated 1/2 a mile from the small village of Mynachlogddu...and up a 200 yard track from the lane...all making at a very safe place for children...

Other Activities: Pottery tuition is available on site with Anna in the Pottery Workshop + is suitable for adults + children.
