Why Bob Drury - Mont Blanc Retreats chose St. Gervais - Megeve area

Chalet Fleur des Roches is spacious so two families or large groups of friends easily fit in.

The recent refurbishments bring it right up to date with a new modern look and feel.

The ski lift is close by but not so close to force the price too high.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We all had a lovely time, thank you. Your chalet was perfect for all of us from toddler to grandad! Martha was in her element when she discovered the toys - we needn't have taken a Trunki full of toys from home - postman pat was a big hit as was the wallace & gromit dvd - and I think my dad welcomed being able to watch the BBC news! We ate in every night & really appreciated the standard of equpiment provided - this has not always been our experience in the past. We were grateful that Sarah & Michelle were able to ready the chalet for our early arrival - we certainly weren't expecting it. Thankfully we were able to leave our skis in a locker up at Le Bettex as I don't think any of us would have relished having to take them up & back every day. We would certainly recommend your chalet to friends & family and would definitely think of returning, even at a different time of year.

Fantastic Ski Chalet

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here during Feb half term for a ski holiday. 3 Families (6 Adults, 4 Children) The chalet does sleep 10 comfortably in 5 bedrooms, unlike most who try to cram 10 into a 4 bed chalet! It is extremely well equiped and very warm. We would recommend having a car, otherwise you will need to use buses to get to the ski lifts. The parking is free at the lifts so no problem there. We left all our ski kit up at St Bettex in a locker, much less stressful than trying to drag it all back to the chalet. The town is very nice but you need the car to do the shopping as well.

Overall a fantastic chalet for skiing or walking or just being in the mountains.

Owner's Response: Just a note that there are shops, banks, restaurants, bars and 3 supermarkets in the town which is walking distance away. A car is, however, needed if you want to visit the big superstores which are down in the valley from the resort (as is usual in a mountain resort) for a big shop. All the usual necessities for a week in the chalet should be available from the 3 supermarkets in town.

great chalet with all the modern features

  • 5 of 5

Apparently the chalet had just been fully refurbished before our stay which meant we got to appreciate the wonderful location in a brand new interior.

We would highly recommend this chalet to anyone wanting a winter or summer vacation in St Gervais.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the honest words. Yes, there was a major renovation just before winter 15/16 with new kitchen and bathrooms and lots of other improvements throughout. Hope to see you again in St Gervais. MontBlanc-Retreats

Very attractive, spacious chalet, well-equipped

  • 5 of 5

Fleur des Roches is a very attractive, spacious chalet. We found it very quiet, although it was only a five minute or so walk from the centre of St Gervais. It was well-equipped, and we also enjoyed some of the non-essentials that were there: books and maps, kids' videos, salt and pepper.... Would definitely recommend.

Great week at the Fleurs de Roches

  • 5 of 5

Lovely chalet, we felt at home. It was really well equipped for adults as well as teenagers and children, clean, cosy and warm. Ideal for 2 families with lots of space. We had a fantastic time there. Only negative point was the upstairs bathroom, dimly lit and the water pressure for the shower was very low. But that wouldn't stop me coming again!

Our Second Home

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at chalet “Fleur de Roches” on many occasions over the past 3 years, especially out of season. Our parties have ranged from 2-6 adults, but there is ample room for 8 adults and 2 children. The accommodation is a traditional mountain chalet of high standard and is extremely well equipped and comfortable for the maximum number of guests. All equipment is of good quality and the chalet is always warm with plenty of hot water. The garden makes an ideal suntrap in either summer or winter months and gives spectacular views of the mountains and valley. St Gervais has many good restaurants and shops to meet all your needs and 15mins by car (Le Fayet) gives you access to large Intermarche and SuperU stores which have a wider selection of goods.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area including mountain walks, lake swimming, wind surfing, sightseeing, spa, etc. A car is a real bonus, especially if you wish to travel any distance. Megeve, Chamonix, Annecy, Geneva and Italy are within easy reach. For a real multinational day you can have croissants in France, Pasta/Pizza in Italy (via Mont Blanc tunnel) and crepes in Switzerland (via St Gothard tunnel).

The caretaker is very friendly and always available if needed, we would not hesitate in recommending this chalet.

family of 7 adults easter break

  • 5 of 5

The chalet is ideal for a family of up 8 adults and 2 small children. The quality of crockery, ( denbigh ), and kitchen ware ( le crueset ), were all a welcome addition. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was of good quality. The views were superb, and the garden area was ideal for the sunny moments. It was warm and comfortable, however two small sofas was not sufficient for more than 6 adults wanting to sit together. The dining table seated 8 easily, and the mezzanine was a welcome suprise for a young couple wanting independence. The selection of DVD's and books were appreciated. The 15 minute walk into the village was a pleasure, and return from the pattiserie was eagerly awaited. The log fire was a real treat, although buying logs was difficult at first until the locals were happy to exchange for a few euros. Amiable help was available if needed. We would certainly use the chalet again, and recommend it to other people.

Owner's Response: Sitting room now has 2 x three seater sofas plus the chalet has a collection of additional seating (bean bags, spare chairs etc) to allow as much flexibility as possible depending on party size. Logs are usually available from the "Casino" supermarket at roundabout in village on the way to ski lifts. Ask in shop if not obvious. Otherwise, in the valley, next to Intermarche, M. Bricolage has a good selection. Failing that, let us know and we can get you a few for a small charge!
