We moved to Greece with our 3 kids in 2005. We have built a small tourist accommodation business and our family home, within a 2 acre olive grove facing the sea, to get 'back to our roots'.Living and working closer to the flora and forna of the Mediterranean in a wild and rugged environment, and offering our children an alternative experience. seabreezegr.com
After the adventures, mishaps and wonders of the initial couple of years, we are now settled into our seaside village life.
We take a pride in cultivating and caring for our 200 majestic olive trees. Pruning and shaping the form for optimum health.
The fruits are harvested by the whole family in late November and all the local groves are a whirl of activity. We bag up the olives and take them to the local press where we enjoy the lively banter with the other farmers. The cold press extraction produces a liquid gold extra virgin oil that is second to none!
Simon purchased this villa in 2004

All our farming activities from: harvesting, feeding and maintaining our 200 olive trees, vegetable garden and fruit orchards incorporate organic and permaculture methods, helping in maintaing healthy soil and minimize water usage. All garden plants are endemic and selected to have minimal water requirements and are watered using a drip system, again conserving water wherever possible. Our chickens are free range and aid us in sharing the kitchen waste with our compost bin as well as providing enormous tasty eggs. As often as possible we use recycled materials for outside building projects ( greenhouses, pergolas, raised vegetable beds, walls, paths, animal shelters, tree houses etc) often combed from beaches when storms have delivered timbers. We have restored and converted a stone store room to form the master bedroom of one house using local methods, craftsmen and materials. Our swimming pool incorporates the most energy efficient filter system and liner. Thus enabling us to keep her filled with water even in winter and only having to refresh the water by a third instead of 100% every spring.

We stayed in the Seabreeze Villa for a week in early July. The weather could not have been better. The Villa was perfect for our family of four. The pool is delightful and has a stunning view to the sea. We used it mainly in the mornings and evenings. During the day, we enjoyed the spectacular beaches at Gialova and Kaloni. (There are other nice beaches closer to the house, but these were the best.) Our hosts, who live on the property, were helpful, friendly, but unobtrusive. We highly recommend this Villa.
I got much more than I had hoped for from this week away in Methoni staying at Seabreeze. The whole area is very beautiful with fab beaches and brilliant clear blue seas. The villa we stayed in at Seabreeze was simple and perfect - set in amongst a wonderful organic olive tree grove I found the whole experience deeply peaceful and grounding. Simon, Idit and their children, and lovely animals were very warm and welcoming. I spent whole days just hanging out near the house when my friends went exploring because it was that lovely and relaxing! All I can say is I really hope to return soon. Going the end of season also added to the relaxed vibe of the area too. I highly recommend it :)
My girlfriend and I spent one week in this fantastic area and enjoyed every second of it.
House and property are beautiful, the hosts are very friendly and helpful, the location is perfect and we had everything we need.
We'd love to come back and fully recommend this location.
Thank you for eveything. We wish you all the best and hope to see you again soon.
This was our first time in this part of Greece, and we were not disappointed! Simon and Idit were very helpful hosts and even provided a welcome package of their own produce. The location of the villa, up on the side of the mountain, offered wonderful views of Methoni village and the sea, and the whole surrounding landscape. We could have chosen to stay in a hotel, but we wanted an authentic, village life experience. The accommodations were adequate, and everything was in working order. Our hosts provided plenty of information for us to experience and enjoy all that this region has to offer. Our children enjoyed afternoons in the pool, and star gazing at night. We tried every beach that was recommended, and also had dinners at the many restaurants that were suggested. Overall, we were very happy with our choice and feel lucky to have experienced Methoni!
We have been there 4 times and it's always a big pleasure for us. We have a young child and we like enjoying the tranquility of the villa among olive trees. The place is ideal for relax and enjoy the pleasures of Greece. We will go back and we recommend you to come. Simon & Edith have a lot of secrets to share with you.
We had a lovely stay in Simon and Idit's villa. It's in a brilliant location, and there are lots of things to see in do in the area, or simply laze by the pool or on the beach. The setting is perfect, very nice garden, pool, olive trees and so on. I would say you probably need a car (although it could be done without, with a degree of forward planning!). Generally speaking all the beaches etc were quite low-key, and we found the food when eating out was excellent (go with the fish or traditional Greek dishes). It was pretty hot, even in June so we didn't walk to the nearest beaches, but I would think it would be manageable a bit more out of season. Pylos (Neokastro and Paleokastro), Methoni and Koroni castles all very different with their own character, and all in stunning settings. Go, and enjoy!!
