There's excellent cycling along lanes (6 mountain bikes plus a childs bike stored in the garage for your use) down to the Aulne River, where there are many exciting fishing opportunities. The local hill, Menez-Hom offers superb views in all directions, in particular you can see right along the lovely Croson Peninsula. There is a wealth of sandy beaches and rugged cliffs to explore, with headlands and caves abundant. Shops cafe/bar and restaurant 110 yards (100m). Tennis courts, basket ball court, 5 a side astro turf pitch and childs play area only 750m away. Pictures available for all rooms and the local village.

Pictures and maps: I have pictures of all the rooms in the cottage plus pictures of all the surrounding areas, maps and things to do and places to go.

There is a full set of baby equipment eg baby gates, bath, chair, cot and others as we have a 6 month old ourselves.

The cottage is prepared, cleaned and a full set of new bedding and towels supplied for each stay. No extra costs.

We can email any other information that you require so please don't hesitate to contact either Melanie or myself.

Heating and fuel: Electric heating and all power included in rent, also one bag of logs supplied, more are easily accessible.

Travel: Flights start from £29 when booked in advance with FlyBe who fly regularly from Manchester, Birmigham, Exeter and Southhampton to Brest Airport which is 40 minutes drive to the cottage or Rennes Airport approx 120 minutes away.

There is also a ferry daily from Plymouth to Roscoff which is a short drive to Dineault.

The nearest large town which is full of shops, restaurants, bars and banks is Chateaulin which is approximately 5km (3 miles) away.

About Stephen and Melanie

My husband I bought this cosy little cottage when we got married as we adore France.

Stephen and Melanie purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Stephen and Melanie chose Quimper area

This property was ideal for families and as we intended on starting our own soon it seemed perfect.

Above is a picture of our dream, this is me and my two daughters now 7 and 3 years old.

We are at our favourite picnic spot just a couple a miles from the cottage.

What makes this cottage unique

Its lovely and quite and safe in the village for the children with so many things to do and different places to go each day.

Its a place to just go and have fun and explore.

Lovely village everything within 2 minutes walk

  • 5 of 5

A huge thank you to Stephen and Melanie the holiday home was just as described.

The village with its local produce, wine bar and the boulangerie which is next door to the gite is an absolute must.

The bread which is baked fresh each morning, with it being next door the fresh smell is an absolute treat, I lovely experience only found in France.

We would rise early in the morning collect some fresh bread and have a coffee in the coffee shop which again it literately next door.

The house was very clean and cosy and very well equipped we even took advantage of the mountain bikes in the garage.

We are booking again next year and we will tell all our friends about you and your lovely home.

Regards Elizabeth

Delightful Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my new wife at the beginning of our honeymoon! Exactly what we were after! Nice quiet place to spend a bit of quality time together after the hectic run-up to the wedding. Set in an extremely quaint french village with everything you require for your stay. The wine bar was nice and there was a lovely little bakers for fresh bread every morning! We'll never forget our stay here and would like to thank Stephen and Melanie for their hospitality and great welcome pack!

Excellent location and very quiet

  • 4 of 5

The location was perfect and the house was quite charming and exactly what we needed for our family vacation. The caretakers were very nice and the neighbours extremely friendly. Stephen & Melanie were very helpful - setting everything up turned out to be easy, even from 4000 miles away!

Dineault - great spot

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dineault Cottage which was perfectly positioned in the delightful village of Dineault, close to some fabulous beaches and the charismatic town of Chateaulin. Dineault had a good bar/cafe, grocery shop and patisserie. The larger town with numerous restaurants and supermarkets of Chateaulin was within 5-10 minutes and the most fabulous hard sand, no stones extensive beach of Pentrez Plage was also within a 10 min. drive. Excellent spot for touring the wonderful countryside of Brittany - very central. Very good value. Thank you.

2nd VISIT!

  • 5 of 5

2nd fantastic holiday had to let you all know.......having been before and since meeting the love of my life and deciding to propose i was thinking like any other hopless romantic of the ideal setting to get down on 1 knee........and remembered about my time spent at this perfectly sized and placed cottage in Dinault, Brittany.

mid-20's couples looking to spend some time alone just after a hectic Xmas and before the blues of going back to work. for some relaxation therapy.

The was once again spotless and as picturesque as i remembered.

4 nights just wasnt enough. The weather was better than at home, but ew didnt visit the beaches, instead got a little more adventureous and used the local train station to visit other nearby villages and small towns

That log fire became a distant memory but on arrival knew it was the perfect scene after a lovely home cooked meal to 'pop the question'.

Big thanks again to Stephen and Melanie you may just get an invite as SHE SAID YES!!!!!

The living room is very spacious and has a feature log burning fire, it also comes complete with large dinning table, and a lovely wooden staircase leading to up stairs. Several beaches within 5 miles (7km) the closest and one of the best is Pentrez Plage. One of the largest European aquariums is based in Brest, its called Oceanopolis the Ocean Discovery Park. We have a small child so there's a Mama's and Papa's travel cot, safety gates top and bottom of stairs, high chair etc.
