About this property

Townhouse in Center of Nyons storage for cycling &/or climbing equipment

Drome town-home description
The house is on four levels:

Ground floor - entrance, room with half bath, storage area with a washing machine and stairs leading to the cave (old wine cellar) Plenty of room in both rooms for bicycles, climbing equipment

Second level - large kitchen and dining area, large living room with sofa bed.

Third level - two large bedrooms, each with full bathroom. One bedroom has two single beds and the other a double.

Top level - one bedroom with two single beds and full bathroom. Landing with wet bar and fridge leading onto the roof terrace. Most of our guests dine on the terrace in the evening, looking out at the surrounding mountains and watching the swallows and swifts catching their evening meal. During the day, the terrace is a good place to read or catch some sun.

Linens are available each bedroom. Blankets are in the petrin (chest) located in the living room. The house will be cleaned after you depart. Please leave 60 euros cash and 20 euro per person for laundering of the linens.

Parking - there is no parking space at the house because the streets in the ville ancienne are very narrow. You can take your car down the rue de la Liberte to load and unload but remember that you will be driving through narrow spaces (we usually fold in the mirrors). Public parking is available within a very short distance (50 yards) on the Place J. Buffaven free (we have a permit in the kitchen that you can put on the dashboard of your car) and the Place des Arcades, where there is a rather complicated ticket system. There is also parking on the nearby Promenade de la Digue along the river between the Pont Neuf and Pont Roman. You must use the latter on Thursday market day, parking on the previous evening. Also do not use the Place des Arcades parking on Saturday night as in the summer there is a market on Sunday.

Keywords: Four storeys in the old medieval town with three double bedrooms all with bath.

une parenthèse bienvenue
C'est une maison très très bien située dans le centre de Nyons. La maison est très fraiche naturellement malgré les fortes chaleurs (40 degrés). Les pièces sont spacieuses et agréables. On s'y sent bien tout de suite. On y retournera.

House met all our expectations based on the description - everything we needed
The house is two minutes on foot from a charcuterie, four minutes from a good boulangerie-patisserie, five minutes from a supermarket. Unfortunately the wine coop was closed for vacation while we were there, but there's a good wine shop in les Arcades. Neighborhood is quiet (well, the music school is one street over, but you can only hear them practicing from the rooftop veranda). Good selection of restaurants within walking distance. We got our daily exercise up and down the stairs; I would advise barefoot or shoes with non-slip soles on the stairs, and if you are 6' or taller, mind the low lintels. And, Nyons is well located for all that's wonderful about Provence. Go north, south, east, or west, there are villages perches', vineyards, Roman ruins, and spectacular scenery.

I am originally from a small town in Pennsylvania. My husband is from Kansas City. We met and got married in Austin, Texas while he was finishing his PhD. We now live in Columbia, South Carolina. Why they chose this property

We first visited this home in 2006, and fell in love with the region. We rented this place four or five times over the years before recently buying it. It is a dream come true!
