Overall quite good---several things need to be fixed or changed

  • 4 of 5

It is a beautiful property but there are numerous small things that need to be fixed in the houses--especially the big house. We stayed in all 3 houses at the same time with 3 families but mostly used the big house for 5 days except for sleeping. We enjoyed having the separate houses for sleeping and sometimes eating. These are the things that need to be corrected. 1) There was at least one mouse in the big house--seen at least 2 times by several people at night in the kitchen. 2)There is only one trash can--for 9 people this filled quickly and no one emptied it or told us what to do. 3) There were not enough trash bags (only 2) or dish cloths (maybe 4 or 5). 4)We were told someone would take care of removing recycled trash but no one did anything until we left. 5) The washing machine leaked a little. 6) the window blinds in one or two rooms did not work. 7) The big TV remote did not work--you had to lie down flat on the floor and try to work the TV--this was a big inconvenience! 8)In the big house the closet door was broken. 9) We were told we did not clean up enough (some dishes in sink) but we left an extra $50.00 for the cleaning people even though we had paid a cleaning fee. 10)The hot tub needed work when we arrived and we were told someone would check it the next day but if they did they did not tell us and we were afraid to use it. 11)The remote in one of the small houses had corroded batteries so it did not work. The houses just need some attention. We did not think anyone lives in them so it is hard to recognize all these small things. All in all it is still a very nice place to stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your stay. It seems overall your visit was nice, since you requested to add another night due to enjoying the place so much! We appreciate when guests let us know specific feedback, however we prefer direct communication by email or phone phone to let us know items that need addressing/improving. Mainly because by the time others read this review, most these items will already be fixed: This is a rural property, therefore we watch out for small critters all the time. We have traps that we set out and check on a regular basis, and our cleaning crew is always on the look out as well. We are happy to pick up extra trash - or provide extra supplies mid week - but we need to receive a request. Otherwise, we usually pick up the trash/recycling at the end of the stay. We try to keep up on items that need fixing and replacing as much as we can, but sometimes we need to wait until we have several open days between guests to do so. For cleaning, we ask that the unit be left tidy, (which you did great on the other two units). For the Home, our cleaners did spend an extra 90 minutes than usual picking up trash, food, and dishes. We appreciate the courtesy to leave extra money, but unfortunately we did not find it. An email or text about that would have helped. We cleaned, refilled and balanced the hot tub upon your arrival so you could enjoy it. We did check it the next day and everything was great! Many of these items you listed could have easily been addressed during your stay. We ask our guests to reach out to us by phone, text or email with any questions, needs, or concerns. We don’t want to bother our guests, so if we don’t receive any communication we will assume that things are good! We're glad you enjoyed your visit overall.

Lovely gardens

  • 4 of 5

Our family from Malaysia and Texas (5 adults and 5 kids, 15 down to 8) stayed at Brinnon Gardens 4 nights this month. It was a great time of laughter and fun. The grounds were beautiful and the younger children played hide and seek, tag and much more. The house was adequate for the number of people we had. There were quite a few things in the house that needed attention, like sliding door and screen, loose toilet, and a few other things.

The owner/manager called us when I reported an issue with an unknown intruder when only 1 of us was at the house. The person left without any confrontation, but it was a bit unnerving for everyone. I hope that has been investigated fully.

Our children plan to go to this location again sometime. We enjoyed ourselves.

Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed your stay overall, we would be happy to see you back. Yes, we have looked into the person who entered the back laundry room. This is the first time we have had a situation like this, as the property is gated and private. It was our maintenance person coming in to get supplies from the laundry room, as he did not realize the house was occupied. We have spoken with him about this, and have made sure this mistake won't happen again. We appreciate the feedback about maintenance items and we do our best to address them as they come up. Thank you for staying at Brinnon Gardens.

We loved the property, The 5 acres with all the different trees was quite impressive.

  • 5 of 5

We chose the property because of the acreage, the size of the house, The vegetation the pictures showed. We had 5 adults and a 4 year old and loved the layout...We immediatetly strolled the grounds, very impressive...Loved the Hot tub, Played badmitton & frisbee in the yard one day...The house was very comfortable, Plenty of room for all of us. Our grandaughter was very impressed by the largeness of the house. We brought groceries and cooked all of our meals in the expansive kitchen. My son found us numerous waterfall hikes nearby. Brinnon is very rural, We loved that about the area and loved Brinnon Gardens.

Lovely Stay at Brinnon Garden

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Brinnon Gardens. The property beautifully accommodated our group of eight adults. The grounds are gorgeous and Steven, the groundskeeper, was both knowledgable and helpful, providing tips for enjoying the area. Waterfalls, kayaking, clamming, and beach walks were all within minutes of the property. Our group has rented many properties over the years and this one definitlely tops the list!

Lovely home perfect for multi-family get away

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Brinnon Gardens over Thanksgiving weekend. The house was spacious with plenty of room for three families (with 6 kids) to relax, play and most importantly cook!! The kitchen, breakfast table and dinning room provided us lots of space for meal times. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus for adults and kids. The Thompsons were very accommodating making check-in and check-out a breeze and Connie was very responsive via email and cell phone during planning/booking and during our stay if questions or issues occurred. Although we stayed during late fall, we would love to visit during spring or summer to enjoy the surrounding gardens and the local hiking trails.

Second time stay - amazin again

  • 5 of 5

We love this place. Came back second time 2 years after. It the best place to stay if you have kids as they can enjoy that beautiful garden and run around. Place has a lot of space and very comfy. The only thing was missing is Wifi. It probably good in a way that it wasn't there so we had lots of time to enjoy time without it but would be nice to have it at least for music streaming purposes and for area research so we can google where to take kids next day. Otherwise, I think I and my family with friends will be coming back next year. Thanks a lot
