The spacious two bedroom apartment is in Playa Honda, near La Manga. It's just 50 metres from the beach, alongside the calm warm waters of the Mar Menor.

The apartment is on the 1st floor and has a lift. It has 2 good size bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, bathroom with bath and shower, and a spacious living room/diner with satellite TV, DVD player and a mini hi-fi. The large terrace overlooks the pool and gardens.

The apartment has FREE private Wifi.

The apartment has recently had a nice makeover, with a new 32 inch flat screen TV, chaise lounge sofa, new beds, dining table and chairs, curtains and fixtures.

There's a large open-air swimming pool with a jacuzzi (open during the summer), and a heated indoor pool (during the winter). There's also a sauna, a gymnasium, safe kids play area, plus landscaped gardens with palm trees.

The apartment has both air-conditioning and heating. All linen and towels and all mod cons are supplied. You'll be greeted on arrival, and a local contact will always be on hand.


Golfing: This area is a haven for golf lovers........First of all there is the famous La Manga Club which is just 5 minutes away with it's 3 championship golf courses. There are other golf courses all within easy driving distance - Villamartin, Las Ramblas, Campoamor, Altorreal and the new course La Finca.

The Beaches: The apartment is less than 50 metres from the Mar Menor beach. There are many beaches around this area, both along the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. Try Calblanque, it's part of a nature reserve, and is just a few minutes drive away (well worth a visit)..............There are beach cafe bars, plus you can hire pedelo's, wind surfs, speed boats etc........This area is a haven for all types of water sports and has many teaching centres too for scuba diving, sailing, wind-surfing, water skiing etc...... Diving clubs and schools exist both at Cabo de Palos and in La Manga.

The Local Area: The famous La Manga strip with an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops is just a 5 minute drive away.....Cabo De Palos is beautiful; It's just a few minutes away and has a nice selection of restaurants and cafe bars surrounding the marina. It has a great market on Sundays.....The tourist information centre is in Cabo De Palos. The very Spanish village of Los Belones is nice and just a few minutes away too......The historic city of Cartagena, with it's Roman ruins is just 15 minutes away. .....A car is recommended to allow you to sample the surrounding villages and area.

The views over look the mountains in the background. Each bedroom has a hairdryer supplied.

Great value, good location and lovely flat

My husband and I stayed in the flat for one week and it has everything we needed. It is a good size (we were only two people but I think will still be perfectly comfortable for four) with all the necessary amenities and a beautiful balcony (which is in the shade but perfect for the summer). The location is brilliant for a relaxing holiday - great local bars/restaurants all within five minute walk, a nice local supermarket (not a wide selection but everything you need), beautiful pool on the complex and a stunning, quiet beach one minute from the flat. The complex is quite loud in the evening (although it is school holidays so this might be only in the summer) but is silent from midnight because the complex has a strict rule of silence from midnight to 8am so no problem at all. Lee was very helpful in the run up and everything went smoothly with check in and check out. For the price, this is a fabulous flat and location (even the food and booze is really cheap).

Verdemar III a honest review

The apartment was just as it was shown in the photos and we spent the majority of our time on the patio and the extremely comfortable garden furniture. The apartment does not get any sun throughout the day and in the height of summer when the temperature was hitting a regular 33 it was lovely to have a bit of shade to return to. Open the back door and the patio doors and this creates a lovely through breeze.

If you are looking for a typical Spanish holiday way of life then this is the place to holiday. The majority of people are locals and typically speak Spanish, if you are looking for shops, entertainment and English pubs/restaurants, then you need to look else where. The days were lazy and we soon adapted to the Spanish way of life, late breakfast, lunch, siesta and evening meal.

Please expect there to be noise from the locals as they do not tend to eat until 10 - 11pm and then stay up until at least 1am. Unfortunately, the apartment is not double glazed and is also above the door to block that the apartment is in.

If you are looking for more action and liveliness then take a visit to La Manga which is just a 10 minute drive away and gives the option of the Med and plenty more shops and restaurants. Parking is free all the way along the strip. The beach is good and busier than the one by the apartment. There is a Sunday market in Cabo de Palos which is a 5 minute drive and is located opposite the Euro Spa Supermarket/Repsol Petrol station, please be aware that pickpockets operate in the market.

Another experience was the trip to San Pedro del Pinata and the mud baths. This is a 30-35 minute drive aware heading towards Alicante and is free. Park where you can following signs for the local hotels and then walk in the direction you were driving. At the end of this road there is a lagoon on the left where you walk in to and scoop up mud from the bottom and smear it all over yourself, let it dry for as long as you like and then wash it off. On the opposite side of the walkway is the beach, You will need to take a bucket of some sort to scoop up the mud, although we did manage to do it without one.

The beach bar Zankarra serves lovely food although if you want the bill it's probably best to ask when you order as they do tend to forget at times.

Finally the beach at the apartment is amazing, it is technically a lagoon and is no deeper than 3ft at any given point and is like walking and swimming in a warm bath.

The property looked lovely but it was cold and doesn't get the sun in January and February.

It was really cold in the apartment and didn't have a duvet or enough blankets.

So we then had to buy some to try and stay warm. Also the electric kept tripping every time I cooked even when I turned off the heaters that we had to buy to try and stay warm. Even when it was warm outside the wind came straight through the gaps. I was very disappointed that I had asked upfront if it got the sun and was told yes but in January and February it doesn't get any sun. Shame as the furniture on the balcony was very nice but we never got to use it. We also had to buy utensils for cooking as I didn't feel it had the essentials.

Luckily enough we then managed to book another apartment which did get the sun and the wind didn't hit it in the same way. So although we still had days where it rained and was cold outside we were warm inside it also had duvets and blankets.

We never received any refund on lees apartment even though we had complained.

Owner's Response: I am so sorry Melanie was not happy at my apartment. She did initially ask about the sun on the balcony and I did explain it did not get the sun, especially in January and February when the sun is very low on the horizon (the Spanish design their properties this way to avoid the soaring heat in the summer). My balcony is more like a huge extension of the living room. Spain had the worst weather in 34 years in January and February this year. I'm sorry Melanie felt cold, but I do have air conditioning and heating in the lounge and both bedrooms. There is also a portable heater there if required too. I feel sad that Melanie was unhappy, but the only correspondence I had with her was to complain about the internet being down. The storms had damaged the satellite dish, but this was repaired and sorted within 24 hours. Melanie also complained that she wasn't allowed to use shampoo and wash her hair in the indoor pool. With regards the kitchen, I feel this is well stocked with all the utensils required (there are plenty there!). I have spare blankets at the apartment, and If Melanie had advised me she required more, I would have sorted that straight away for her. I am so sorry Melanie was unhappy, but she hadn't let me know and certainly hadn't complained to me, hence I was not able to offer her a refund as no such discussion ever took place. I never like to hear about a client being unhappy, but as you'll see over the past 12 years I've had some great reviews and many very happy holidaymakers! Thank You, Lee

Great place to stay

Apartment was immaculately clean and tidy. Situation is ideal as the caravan club restaurant is a short walk away, as is the supermarket and bars in the opposite direction. At the caravan club you can get a good quality meal or a selection of tasty tapas to eat in the sun. The balcony is more like an outside room and the biggest I have seen. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Nice apartment out of the sun. .

The app. is just as shown on the pictures: nice, practical, clean.

The sea view is unfortunately blocked by a big building just in front of it, and the sun never hits the balcony or apartment or even the pool area (November) because the whole complex is so huge (9 storeys with hundreds of appartments).

If you don't need the sun the apartment is good value for the money.

Communication with owner and his representatives in Honda was excellent.

What a fantastic apartment in a lovely part of La Manga...so from the start of booking apartment Lee was great , answered all our questions & gave us all the information we needed & always got back to us straight away .So Playa Honda is a lovely area & complex was great just as described. The apartment was perfect & again as described , Balcony was lovely & big , we had English channels, a lovely comfortable couch & nice dinning table.There was plenty of dishes, cutlery ect , washing machine which was easy to use & on arrive the was milk , bread , coffee, tea bags , butter & a big bottle of water for us which was a nice touch after driving from Alicante airport . Also brilliant havin underground parking & lift straight outside apartment door ( if ya do a big shop ) There's a local supermarket 5 mins away but also a Mercadona, Aldi & Spar in Cabo De Palos which is 5 minutes drive away & the beaches there are to die for absolutely beautiful. There's a fab beach bar on Mar Menor staff was great . Myself and my Husband had an amazing 11 night's there & would highly recommend Lee's apartment & we are looking forward to returning in the future

The non commercialised village of Playa Honda is close to the famous La Manga Strip and the La Manga Club. The apartment is just 50 metres from the calm, shallow waters of the Mar Menor - an area which has it's own micro-climate and boasts a minimum of 320 days of sunshine each year. It is an ideal location for both summer and winter breaks.

Nearby are restaurants, beach cafe bars, a small supermarket and a pharmacy all within a one-minute beach side stroll along the promenade. Local villages, markets and marina's are a short drive away. The historic city of Cartegena is just 15 minutes drive.

There are a number of great golf courses nearby too. Whether you are looking for a lazy sunbathing holiday, an action packed water sports holiday, or a golfing holiday, there is something for everyone at the Verdemar 3 at Playa Honda, La Manga. The complex is just 25 minutes from Murcia (San Savier) airport, or one hour from Alicante.
