Had a lovely time here for a week, comfortable, clean, fantastic view. Sitting above Orta San Giulio in lovely countryside, very quiet, good restaurant within walking distance. Highly recommend Taverna Antico Agnello in nearby Miasino. William really helpful with instructions for apartment, keys etc, lots of information on the apartment/area. Playing garden chess with a glass of wine in hand in the evening, with the magnificent view with Mont Rosa in the background, was something special. Thoroughly recommend.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Lake Orta wich offers fabulous views and lovely dining experiences. The apartment was good value for money although being a bit small and requiring some extra cleaning but part of a fabulous villa with well maintained gardens. It offers 5 apartments in total with a shared swimming pool and stunning views. We really appreciated the location pack that helped us finding local amenities on arrival. Overall a good experience and we are tempted to revisit the Lake.
Good location with swimming pool which was well used due to the exceedingly hot weather and high humidity. The humidity caused severe condensation in the apartment and the Mosquitos were a constant problem. In spite of this we had a great time and all fell in love with Lake Orta and Orta San Guilio. Probably the best of all the Italian lakes! Highlights included a trip up Mottarone on a clear sunny day where the view was magnificent and boat trips on Orta to Isola San Orta and Omegna. We also drove to Stresa via the Alpine Gardens and visited Isola Pescari and Isola Bella. Unfortunately it was too hot to do long walks so we spent much of our time eating, drinking and relaxing. The property was clean and orderly and William the owner was very helpful with his information on the area. We would certainly recommend it to others with the caveat that mosquito repellant is a must in the summer months.
We stayed for one week in mid September. The place was everything we hoped for and more besides. The apartment was spotlessly clean, in superb keep and in a fantastic position overlooking Lake Orta. There is much to do and see around the area and a car is recommended but the Villa Gelosmina is so lovely we could quite happily have stayed there, swam in the pool, looked at the lovely views and enjoyed the local walks without venturing far. Thank you William and we are happily recommending the Villa to our family and friends and we too will be back.
We arrived in pouring rain but were still quite impressed with our flat.
My husband and I and our two teenage boys were quite comfortable and had everything we needed. The bonus for me was the lovely deep bath in our ensuite bathroom. This was very important to us as when sharing a hotel room with two teenage boys with only 1 bathroom...it soons becomes the most stressful part of our holiday! Not this time though- both bathrooms were spacious with powerful showers and lots of hot water. The beds were very comfortable and our queen size was lovely as that's what we have at home.
Once we got settled in we found lots of books, guides, maps and other information that was very useful. The big refridgerater was more than adequate and we could put lof drinks in it for our thirsty boys. The kitchen was really well equipped with lots of dishes, cooking utensils and other essentials. Our area outside the apartment was also well used at lunch times and for drying clothes on the airer. The washing machine was great as we only brought one beach towel each and it was nice to freshen them up. The pool area was also quite popular with our family. Beautiful views from the pool. I would say that the water was too cold for me but the three males in my family would not be put off by it and swam everyday. The villa itself was in a quiet area with beautiful views and a good location obut a car was essential.
It was over all a really great holiday and I would recommend it to my friends.
