Detatched villa - for 2-6 people with private pool and garden

Sun Lion Villa, with its original and inspired architecture, is a house built to maximise the appreciation of the landscape that surrounds it. Viewed from the terrace, a sweeping panorama encompasses the Atlantic Ocean, Table Mountain, Lions Head and the Twelve Apostles. Built on an incline, the deck, swimming pool and garden overlook the coastline and setting sun. In keeping with the style of the rest of the house, the swimming pool has no square edges or corners, and blends into the surrounding shape of the private garden and lawn. A perimeter wall insures both pool and garden are protected from the gazes of neighbours and passers-by, allowing the guest total privacy.

it is extremely rare to find good-sized, detached properties for rent with so few bedrooms, because the average house in Camps Bay has 4 or 5 bedrooms, making it prohibitively expensive for smaller numbers of occupants to find somewhere if they desire the privacy of an entire property to themselves.

Information for golfers: The following nine golf courses are within a half hour drive from Sun Lion Villa: Bellville, Clovelly, Metropolitan, Milnerton, Mowbray, Rondebosch, Royal Cape, Steenberg and Westlake. A further nine clubs are reachable within the hour: Atlantic Beach, Boschenmeer, Erinvale, Pearl Valley, Somerset West, Spier, Stellenbosch and Strand. There are four more golf courses within the Western Cape Province; Arabella, Hermanus, Langebaan and Worcester, but those can only realistically be enjoyed as part of an entire day trip outing.

Some recommended outings: Cape Point Nature Reserve, Table Mountain cable car (only 4 kms away) and the famous Stellenbosch and Paarl wine routes.

Brilliant stay

I stayed here with my twin boys aged 11 and we had a wonderful time. The view is breathtaking and waking up every morning to breakfast floating above the ocean was magic. The property was in excellent condition and the reception warm and friendly. Nearby we could find everything we needed from supermarkets, top restaurants to beaches and mountains. This house made us enjoy the best the Cape has to offer and is excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back.

Beautiful home and even better views!

Couldn't have been happier with our accommodation at the sun lion villa! The views speak for themselves! The architecture of the house is very unique and there is plenty of space for entertaining and all the amenities you will need. Anthony was an excellent host; very responsive and informative. Would definitely stay here again if/when I'm back to visit Cape Town!

we very much enjoyd those 17 days in this wonderfull house with a superb balcony and a great pool!!

Everything was super and if it goes we would rent this place again.

The only thing what I thougt should be better communicated is when we left on Friday 17th March. I did not see the mail Anthony sent to me telling me that we have to leave in the morning already since the house has been booked by new guests, I fully respect this - no problem - but since I did not see that mail, I phoned Bernadette on Monday 13th March. She then told me about the new situation. I then asked her if we could still use the pool and shower till 14.00h where she said thats no problem. Good, I thought. However the lady who was cleaning the house told as on 16th March that she will start cleaning the next morning (17th) at 8 a.m. already. Then I called Bernadette again and told her, sorry but this is too early. We can leave the house by 9 a.m - so thats still one hour earlier than the rules show. I understood that bernadette still said we can still use pool and shower till 14.00h. Maybe this was a missunderstanding. Anyway we finally left 9 a.m. but Bernadette said that she is not comming so early but only at 14.00h. I thought she would want to go with us through the hose and check if everyting was OK. She said there is no need to do that. So I told her the two minor things which were broken already when we came - thats the wheel of the gas grill which was broken plus a lounge at the pool. I just wanted to make sure, that I would not get charged for this. She said that I should not worry about.

Again - everything else was just great - we really liked this place.

Great stay

A perfect holiday home with breathtaking views, the house was comfortable and provided everything we required. Only criticism were the couple if wonky chairs by the pool which meant that only two of our party of 4 could enjoy sunbathing at a time. Easily put right I'm sure. We very much hope to return.

Beautiful Camps Bay

Two of us spent a luxurious week at Sun Lion Villa. It is very well equipped and exactly what we expected from the web site. Welcome included 2 bottles of wine. The Villa could easily have accomodated four people. Everything worked! It is quite a lot of steps to climb up from the parking in the road, but the view is fantastic once you get there.

Schönes Haus mit exzellentem Blick

Das für 4 Personen ausreichend große Haus ist sehr gut gelegen oberhalb der Bucht von Camps Bay. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten von Kapstadt sind gut und schnell erreichbar. Sehr freundlicher Empfang und eine kompetente Betreuung vor Ort. Sensationeller Blich aus dem Master Bedroom und von der wunderschönen Terrasse. Das Haus ist zwar schon etwas älter, die Bäder aber neuwertig renoviert. Insgesamt vermittelt das Haus einen freundlichen und gepflegten Eindruck. Der kleine Garten mit dem Pool lädt zum Sonnenbaden und relaxen ein. Die Küche ist modern und sehr gut ausgestattet.

Wir kommen sicher wieder.....

Ideally located in one of the most desirable, secure and attractive bays in all of South Africa, Sun Lion Villa is a short 5 minute drive from the beaches and only 10 minutes from the city, reachable via Kloof Neck, which separates Table Mountain and Lion's Head. Most holiday activities, whether sporting, culinary, or night life, are all located within a few minutes of the house.

  • There are two bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathrooms, so if you are two single occupants you would have a bedroom and bathroom each, and if you are a couple sharing a bed, you would have a choice of which bedroom to stay in, and the other will be kept empty so that you will have the entire house, pool and garden to yourselves. The house is ideal for two couples, but if you are 6, there is a full-size wardrobe bed in the living room that folds away in a matter of seconds. For those wishing to watch TV or movies in bed, the 55" 4K TV can swivel round to accommodate viewing from the wardrobe bed. The occupants of the living room can also access the second bathroom without having to pass through either bedroom. Aside from that, in terms of seating and dining, cutlery plates etc, for even more than six guests if you wish to invite friends over for meals.

Notes:

  • A bright and spacious semi-circular living room with pillars and a fireplace is the centre-piece onto which other multi-levelled rooms look, including an open space dining area and kitchen for socializing at mealtimes. The terrace is also an inviting location suitable for dining; whether it is for a sunny breakfast or for candlelit dinners or barbeque's under the stars. The house is fitted with a comprehensive alarm system, and has a security contract with ADT, the largest of the local security firms. The system was renewed and updated in 2008. Please note that there are plenty of steps up to the front door, so the property is unsuitable for the elderly or infirm.
