About the property

4 Double bed spacious villa suitable for families/large groups, private garden

Very spacious, luxury 4 double bedroom and 4 bathroom villa in exclusive quiet gated development with spectacular views directly overlooking the Islantilla Golf Course. Large private sun/roof terrace and secluded private patio and lawned garden. Set in beautiful well maintained tropical gardens containing 2 attractive pools (open May - September) and tennis/paddle ball court (open all year). Close to main beach/resort, golf club house and miles of unspoilt sandy beaches including two sand dune national parks. There are also 6 other championship golf courses within half hour's drive. Faro/Seville airports approx 1 hour by car.

Booking Details: Holding booking deposit required of £250 per week to reserve accommodation. Full payment is then required 2 months before departure date. A £100 per week refundable security key/damage deposit is also taken when full payment is made.

On changeover days during the peak season (July and August) we would respectfully request departing guests to vacate by 10am and for incoming guests to arrive after 4pm to allow for full cleaning. We also ask for Saturday to Saturday bookings only during the two peak months of July and August.

Mid - stay change of linen/towels service available for additional 40 euros.

Seville: The stunning city of Seville is only just over an hour's drive away (120 km) from the property on excellent motorways and this therefore makes it a comfortable and easy day trip from Islantilla. This city is an absolute must see and could easily take up 2 or 3 days of your holiday to see the main sights.

Also importantly the airport is an excellent gateway to the region, particularly as Ryanair fly there and it is quite possible to book flights from Stansted for as low as £50 per person including taxes!! The airport is large and comfortable but is very quiet compared to the Costa airports and it is therefore very easy and quick to get in and out of the terminal. Car hire is also very cheap and easy to arrange and we can recommend a car hire company where you can get a new 5 door air conditioned car for less than £100 per week.

Faro: Another excellent gateway to the region with the airport being just under an hour's drive away on a good fast motorway. All airlines fly there including BA, EasyJet, Ryanair, Norwegian and Monarch etc. An extensive choice of good cheap car hire is also available and again we can recommend companies if you ask.

Ayamonte/Algarve: The very pretty fishing port and town of Ayamonte on the Spanish/Portuguese border is only 20 minutes drive away and is definitely worth a visit. The town is lined with street cafes and nice boutiques/shops and the freshly caught fish and seafood in the restaurants is a must! A nice place to just stroll around and relax in the cafes.

The Eastern end of the Portuguese Algarve is also worth a day trip or two. It is a beautiful and largely unspoilt region with lovely long sandy beaches, small fishing ports and villages and attractive national parks. The historical town of Tavira is only 40 mins drive away and has a lovely square next to the river and contains a hilltop castle/gardens, churches and other ancient buildings. It is also lined with street cafes and restaurants. Monte Gordo is also a very nice sandy seaside resort with many restaurants, bars and facilities just over the Portuguese border some 35 minutes drive away.

We love the area which is very beautiful and relatively unspoilt. We spend two or three weeks a year at the villa and the children adore it, especially the swimming pool and tennis court!

What makes this house unique

Very safe, quiet and peaceful with stunning views yet very close to the sea and main amenities. The swimming pools/tropical gardens and roof terraces mean you do not have to go anywhere if you do not wish to. It all makes for a very relaxing summer holiday!

All 4 bedrooms are double sized with private balconies/terraces and one bedroom has an en suite bathroom. There is a huge private sun/roof terrace at the top of the house with the most spectacular views of the golf course and which gets the sun all day long. A very nice place to have a drink as the sun sets over the golf course and watching the varied birdlife. The top double bedroom also has a private balcony with sea views and gets the sun all afternoon/evening. There is also a third large terrace serving the first floor bedrooms overlooking the golf course. The golf club house is a 7/8 mins walk away where you can pay and play the 18 hole course or use the excellent adjacent driving ranges and practice putting greens. Opposite, non residents can use the Azabache Spa within the 5 star Hotel Islantilla Golf Resort. For a very reasonable price of 20 euros for 7 x 3 hour sessions you can use the indoor pool, gym and jacuzzi. You can also buy beauty treatments, massages & use solarium

Excellent House

My family (5 adult and 4 children) had a wonderful week of holidays in Islantilla. The house was spacious enough, was properly clean, well-maintainded and full equiped. The renting process was rapid and and a easy one. I had no problems at all. I strongly recommend this property for a beach holidays.

Wonderful holiday base

We had a wonderful time in Islantilla, using the villa as our base. We flew into Seville as the flights seemed to be a little cheaper than Faro. On arrival the house was wonderfully clean and we were greeted with some basics such as bread, milk, sugar and coffee - which was very welcome after our journey. The pools are within meters of the villa and the car park is gated. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and it's a godsend having the washing machine (particularly with little ones).

The great thing about this area is that it isn't subjected to the hoards of British and Northern European tourists. You will be expected to try your hand at Spanish, and how worth it'll be. We found the locals of the area extremely friendly, warm and accommodating.

The villa is split over 3 floors, all of which overlook the back. The top floors give great views of the pretty golf course and we admit to spending some time chuckling at the golfers fluffing shots or sneaking a cheat. We had a lovely BBQ with fish from the very friendly ladies at the local market and lots of Al-fresco dining in the little garden.

We found eating out extremely good value in this area. We took our mother in law so with 3 adults, 2 children and wine we could eat a good evening meal for £30-40. The local tapas was to die for!

Good day trips - Tavira, Olhao, Sitges, Seville (you will fall in love with this city and want to return), and Limite Zero (zip wire from Spain to Portugal), Ayamonte and Islantilla beaches are also good.

It was a fabulous holiday! I would recommend this as a great base.

En general bien la casa y su contenido, con lo necesario para pasar unas vacaciones agradables pero tiene un par de cosas para nosotros importantes que no nos han gustado, una que a pesar de lo que publicitan no está nada cerca de la playa a la que hay que acceder en coche porque está un poco lejos o ir a otras cercanas que están menos masificadas y solo hay un supermercado relativamente cerca para el resto tienes que desplazarte al centro comercial por supuesto en coche y la otra y muy importante que no tienen mosquiteras en todas las ventanas y en las que tienen están muy mal puestas y rotas y desde luego a algunas personas de mi familia les han comido los mosquitos a pesar de poner enchufes y aerosoles en todos los dormitorios

Owner's Response: Hacemos anunciar la casa está a 3 or 4 minutos en coche de la playa / tiendas principales o un 10 a 15 minutos a pie. Estamos situados en una zona tranquila en una colina con vistas al mar en el medio de un campo de golf y un pequeño paseo en coche o es el precio a pagar por tales bonitas vistas y posición! No hemos tenido ninguna queja antes de mosquitos, nos subimos en una colina donde no hay muchos. Siempre se recomienda el uso habitual de repelentes y aerosoles

Einfache Unterkunft mit schönem Garten und Pool direkt vor der Tür

Haus liegt in einem abgeschlossenen Bereich mit zugehörigen Parkplatz und schöner Anlage. Die 2 Pools und der Garten sind die Highlights und liegen direkt vor der Tür. Das Inventar des Haus ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und die Sauberkeit wäre verbesserungswürdig. Islantilla ist ein süsses Örtchen das nicht sehr touristisch ist und eher den Einheimischen vorbehalten ist. Der Strand ist zu Fuß in 15 Minuten zu erreichen und das Centro Commercial lädt bummeln ein. Insgesamt ist das Haus weiter zu empfehlen.

The property is situated in the beach and golf resort of Playa Islantilla which is in the central area of the stunning Costa de la Luz coastline running between the Portuguese border town of Ayamonte and the main city of the region Huelva to the east. The area is famed for its long sandy beaches fringed with sand dunes and pine forests and there are numerous national parks of this type in the area. Within a few minutes drive of the property is the main Islantilla beach resort and commercial plaza containing over 20 different types of restaurants where you can sit in comfort with direct views over the sea. The region is famed for its fresh fish and seafood. It is also full of championship golf courses. It is also relatively unspoilt and some Spanish is still needed even in cafes!

Golf: The region is famed for its many golf courses and there are in fact - in addition to the 27 hole championship standard Islantilla golf course onto which our property overlooks- another 5 comparable courses within half hour's drive. Those being Nuevo Portil, El Rompido, Isla Canela, Bellavista and Castro Marim (Portuguese Algarve).

Not much further and certainly no more than an hour's drive are some of the best golf courses in the region, including Quinta da Cima and Quinta da Ria in Portugal and the Real Club de Golf Seville - apparently one of the best and most challenging in Spain designed by Jose Maria Olazabal!
