The large lounge/dining room caters easily for six people and is well furnished with digital tv & other ec countries plus dvd,cd and radio. A large box of dvd's for both adult and children's entertainment is available. Two sofas, one is an with easy action sofa bed. The modern kitchen and adjoining laundry room room are well equipped. The two beautiful bathrooms are in marble, one en suite both have bath, shower, bidet, wc and wash basin and benefit from natural light. There are two terraces, with BBQ ready for dining or sunbathing. They overlook landscaped gardens, the two pools and the Mediterranean. This is a secure gated community. There are security scissor gates at the apartment and remote controlled main access gate with private underground parking. The property benefits from a local Manager who is there to greet and help guests. Close to the main coast road A7 (N340) with its frequent bus service or 10 minute drive to the centre of Marbella. Many attractions of historic and family interest. Supermarkets nearby. Malaga airport 30 minutes.

Beaches.: The Costa Del Sol is known for its fabulous sandy beaches, and its superb temperature throughout the year makes this a desirable holiday at any time. From the terraces of the apartment the coast of Africa can frequently be seen. The Cabopino beaches are glorious, they are Blue Flag Safe & Clean beaches. Both beaches have sunbed hire. Each beach has a good chirringuito which serves good food including excellent fish, light meals or a cool drink. Cabopino beaches are designated as areas of natural beauty and protected. If you want total tranquility, walk from Cabopino towards Marbella. The beaches and dunes are totally natural and unspoilt often glorious with their wild flowers. A serene morning walk at low tide is from Cabopino to Marbella. In summer best in the morning before the heat of the day but a winter walk is delightful at any time. Binoculars in the apartment. It is delightful to watch the sun go down as a golden globe from the terraces or from one of the many beach restaurants dotted along the coast. Laminated maps are kept in the apartment for speedy access to favourites.

Shopping: This is known as an area of 'haute couture' and stylish clothes are everywhere. Easy shopping outlets are 'La Canada', a large modern shopping complex. Marbella and Puerto Banus are truly fashionable places. The Corte Inglez at Puerto Banus, Marbella, Fuengerola have good car parks. Public transport will take you to all of these areas. They also have excellent supermarkets called Hypercor. For really good (and cheap food) and clothing shopping, the local markets are fantastic. A list of the markets open on every day is in the apartment. The markets are excellent and cheap for all fruit and vegetables. Most sellers have grown their produce and it is truly 'organic'. Be prepared for larger quantities than maybe normal although they will serve 'cuaranto' (quarter) and 'medio' (half) kilo. The fish markets are an experience you should enjoy. The sardines are lovely or experiment with Lubina or Dorado. Marbella and Fuengerola both have excellent indoor markets, the nearest local market is La Cala. Food guide & cooking books in the apartment.

Eating Out: There are too many great eating places to attempt to give names but as a good first night, Da Bruno a very quick walk from the apartment, has great Italian food but with a Spanish seafood emphasis. However, book - the telephone number is listed in the apartment. Restaurants (ventas) catering for the Spanish workmen are always good and normally cheap. There is one on the A7 a short walk from the apartment. The Spanish share meals & restaurants willingly supply additional plates. Spanish custom is to eat late and a family think nothing of going to a restaurant for a meal at mid-night. The Germans eat early, so by aiming at around 7 - 8pm, seats are available. The Marina has very many good eating places from cheap to expensive but all along the coast you can eat cheaply and well. In Marbella Old Town, the Orange Square is delightful. Maps in the apartment. The churros & chocolate are sumptuous. Open every day but great for 'people watching' on a Sunday morning. Sundays, late lunch is a busy time with large groups of Spanish families. All restaurants in the marina are open throughout the year, some close for holiday periods in the early part of the year. It is interesting to try other areas and other restaurant up and down the coast. Eating outdoors throughout the year is normal but you may need a jacket in winter.

Supermarket shopping is easy to find. The nearest food shop to the apartment are in the small shopping complex opposite. The prices are not the cheapest but for things you run out of or convenience, it can't be beaten at three minutes walk away. The local garage also has large stocks and bakes fresh bread on the premises. For a main shop try the shopping areas at Calahonda and use Spanish goods where possible, they are much cheaper than the UK put there for the tourist. The Spanish supermarkets are well stocked and generally easy to use. Before paying check that they take credit/debit cards. Often you can be asked for your passport to verify your country of origin.

The fish counters in supermarkets are amazing to the deprived British and the fish markets in major towns such as Fuengerola and Marbella are a sight to be seen. Argentinian beef is better than Spanish and readily available. Pork is of a good quality but lamb not up to UK standard.

About Doreen Wright

We decided to buy a second home and use it primarily during the winter months. We spent some time in France, Portugal and Spain before making a decision and the decision was based on a lot of facts. We enjoyed walking and the beaches are surprisingly quiet and superb for walking, it is near to a lot of well known historical towns such as Granada, Seville and Cordoba. Because of its location near Marbella the area is vibrant and active.

Doreen Wright purchased this apartment in 2004

Why Doreen Wright chose Marbella area

The apartment was bought and furnished as a second home and is therefore much up on the normal rental property. We found this location quite early in our search but decided that the price was too high. One year later we still hadn't seen another we liked as much and returned to buy this. We have never regretted the decision. We wanted a property that had the advantage of being able to walk to the sea, with good views and the location of this remains one of its biggest selling points. It is also a large and well appointed property with good storage compared with most of the other apartments on the market. We also liked the fact that being a corner property we had good natural light in the bathrooms

What makes this apartment unique

The closeness to the marina and Mediterranean sea. From the terraces you can see the coast of Africa and watch the shipping through binoculars we supply. The sun going down over the sea as a golden ball always delights me. There is a board walk running along this southern coast which guides you to beaches both busy and quiet to suit your own requirements.

Guestbook comments from the owner

After two very pleasant weeks, we landed yesterday in Zurich with regret that the stay was no longer. The places, the apartment, the eating and many others were special! We arrived at the destination easily, your Managers were kind and helpfuland we discovered after some days that all the things that are necessary daily could be found in the apartment! Thanks for all the details that you have carefully forseen for your guests, my wife especially was impressed by the kitchen's endowments. We explored the surroundings and also more distant objectives like Ronda, Seville, Granada, Gibraltar, Nerja and Frigliana and the conclusion was that we were lucky to have found your address and to spend two wonderful weeks.

  • These bathrooms are a delight - in grey marble and very well equipped with showers, bath, bidet and basin. Toilets are screened from the rest of the bathroom with a half wall. The wash basin is protected from the shower spray by a glass screen. Because we have a corner property we benefit from natural light and air. The side windows take the morning sun. With the scent of the flowers outside, getting up is easier. Full linen is provided (except for beach towels) and there are many of the little touches of luxury that mark this up as a delightful holiday experience. The apartment was bought as a private home and furnished as such so the range of equipment is far greater than normally found in a holiday rental. For example on the terraces in addition to normal dining furnishings and BBQ we have an electric plate which enables you to cook and enjoy the atmosphere. In winter the coast of Africa is clearly seen and the sunsets are quite amazing. In summer the gardens are superb.

The apartment is located in a very peaceful area but close to the A7 motorway and coast. Set in landscaped gardens with two pools, it is a safe environment. Community poolside loungers are provided in addition to those supplied for the apartment terraces. The apartment has an interior staircase/lift from the private car park underneath. A small new shopping centre has been built very close to the apartment. There are many restaurants at all prices nearby including the well known Da Bruno. Internet facilities are a three minute walk away. The area is rich in restaurants of all types and prices. The adjacent Cabopino Golf Club do excellent breakfasts and lunches with panoramic views. The area has abundant bowls and golf courses.. We have an English Local Manager who meets you at the apartment and is there to help. Proof of the apartment and facilities is that 8 of this summer's lets have rebooked. Local agent for booking trips and the pick up/return stop a short walk away

Superb accommodation perfectly situated

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 6 weeks in Doreen's wonderful apartment, located in a quiet, gated community and with easy underground parking. It's also perfectly situated for the beach, marina, restaurants and trips to the many local places of interest and beyond. The apartment is comfortable and well-equipped and the terrace gives superb views of the sea and swimming pool. Although we travelled widely during our stay, the most enjoyable times were relaxing on the terrace with a glass of wine watching the sun go down. Thoroughly recommended.

Fabulous condo in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 absolutely loved Doreen's condo! It is in a great location with easy access to a fabulous beach and harbor area! (10-15 min. walk or 5 min. drive with easy parking) The complex is lovely and quiet with a very nice pool. The condo is well-equipped for comfortable living. We were happy to eat in and sit on the lovely terrace and enjoy the view!!

It's a quick drive to Marbella and an easy day trip to Gibraltar, Morocco (we took the ferry from Tarifa), Ronda, and much more! We wish we could have stayed much longer than a week. We'd recommend this condo to anyone and would love to come back ourselves!

Lovely apartment in a convenient location

  • 4 of 5

We spent the four weeks of February in the apartment at Los Mimosas and we had a lovely time. The apartment is very well equipped and it felt like ‘home from home’. It also benefits from secure, underground, car parking. Although another row of apartments were offset to the front left of us, there was a great view of the sea and on our first afternoon we were delighted to catch sight of Africa in the far distance.

Any requests for additional information or support were responded to very promptly.

The Cabopino marina was within ten minutes strolling distance via the footbridge across the main road, with a good selection of bars and restaurants, including the reasonably priced beach bars. From the marina there were lovely walks along the boardwalks across the dunes.

We would be happy to recommend this comfortable, well situated apartment as an ideal base for visiting all the surrounding attractions.

accurate, regarding location,layout,facilities etc

  • 3 of 5

The Owner and manager provided good customer service. I thought that the crazy paving outside the apartments hazardous, I was dissapointed on how dirty the streets were with dog mess and litter. The restaurants expensive and over priced drink wise.

Well equipped, peaceful flat with great beaches

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth visit, with two children now 10 and 12 and myself and my wife. We come back regularly because the flat is always very clean and welcoming, and we love the choice of local walks and beaches.

The flat itself has a full compelement of cooking equipment, so that we can self - cater without having to improvise. I gather that the owners lived in the flat before they let, so hence the attention to detail. I have had so many lets where we can't even find a tea spoon. For staying home, there is a balcony, sun loungers, an excellent collection of kids and adult DVD's, the pool ( which is always quiet).

Our favourite beach is the family beach in Cabopino, which is sheltered. We usually take our own towels and beach mats but you can also hire a lounger. You can walk east along the coast for several miles along the flat sand at the waters edge and there is a lovely cafe about a mile along the coast where we often stop; not cheap but they do excellent evening meals as well as lunches.

What I also like about Mimosas is that many of the flats are lived in by local Spanish, and there is always a gardener around the day time, so it feels very friendly and safe for my kids to play around in the walled garden. The flat itself has good security, with metal pull-across gates on all the patio doors, which slide out of sight in the day time.

Travelling further afielld, we also take our children to the water park & Zoo at Fuengirolla, Tivoli World and the teleferique above Benelmadina, and the Picasso Museum in Malaga. There is an excellent info book that the owner has left with details of the local markets. Great holiday ; thanks !
