This luxurious well equipped villa is in an area of outstanding natural beauty with simply stunning views over Lake Vinuela, the surrounding mountains and our own olive grove. The view is more fascinating than a sea view. The villa is perfect for a getting away from it all holiday and is in a very peaceful location on a plot of 5000sq m.

With over 300 days sunshine a year, it is beautiful in all seasons, particularly for those who enjoy walking in glorious countryside, (or simply sitting looking at the views, glass in hand!). A wood stove and additional heating will ensure an off season break is very comfortable. The villa is just over 15 minutes from the coast & has good access. A number of excellent restaurants are nearby. The well maintained south facing private pool has wide steps (perfect for lounging on to cool down). It is an easy drive to Nerja & other towns like Granada and Seville. The fiestas in the local villages are an experience not to be missed, see the real Spain!

Interior: Hot and cold A/C in all 3 bedrooms. A feature of the lounge is a very high ceiling keeping the room cool, a wood burning stove, logs and additional heating. If you ever tire of the glorious weather and scenery outside, inside is free Wifi, satellite TV, video , Hi-Fi. The fully fitted kitchen is a real home from home with a fan oven, electric hob, combination microwave, large fridge / freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, tea pot, and an extensive array of crockery, unbreakable patio-ware and cooking utensils. A door leads from the kitchen onto a terrace that has been recentltly glazed. This provides a wonderful room to eat in or relax, particularly in the slightly cooler evenings in the winter. The views from this room are superb. A patio door leads from the lounge onto the terrace. The master bedroom also has wiindows overlooking the lake.a wonderful view to wake up to! All linens are provided including some beach / pool towels. Broadband access is by cable or WiFi to guest's equipment and is free.

Exterior: There are 2 porches and extensive terracotta sun terraces surrounding the pool and a pergola, with dshade. The property is set in 5,000 sq metres. Beneath the villa is the original olive grove with over many mature trees. Fig trees can be found on the back perimeter and guests are welcome to pick the fruit when ripe. There are loungers / sun beds with cushions, and side tables. For dining there is a dining table and chairs,. Ash trays are provided for use outside the villa. There is ample parking. There are normally pool inflatables left in the villa and there is a set of boules. The shower by the pool is lovely and warm where the sun heats the water tank.

There are some professionally written leaflets detailing local walks, incorporating detailed text, sketch maps and photos. The walks vary from 2-3 hour walks around the lake edge to 9 hours walk up into the mountains! (for the brave and hardy!).

Unlike some other properties in this area of Spain there is no need for a 4 wheel drive car to access the villa.

The Area: Although very peaceful and secluded the villa is not remote as a couple of English residents live nearby, always eager to help. All around the property are paths leading to some glorious walks through unspoilt countryside. On the opposite side of the lake is a National Park which is widely used by walkers and ramblers.

The mountain villages are well worth a visit to see the real Spain.

There are a number of wonderful restaurants and bars within a few minutes drive, all offering very good value and extensive menus. Miguel's ( Venta El Charco), up in the white village of Los Romanes does the most amazing steaks, the best we have ever tasted. It is a must do, every time we visit the villa. Let us know if you ever taste better !

There is a wonderful shopping mall. InGenio. with a hypermarket, Eroski, within a 15 minute drive. Here you can buy an amazing selection of food, including an extensive fresh fish and sea-food counter. Leave yourselves loads of time to spend there. There are also many fashion and accessory shops, a Dunnes, Casa and a C&A's

We are a recently retired couple. This villa is our much loved second home. We live on the South coast of England and like to spend summers there, so the villa is normally available then. We tend to have long holidays in the villa Spring, Autumn and Winter to enjoy the Spanish sunshine. This winter , 2017/18, it will be vacant so discounts are available for 2 week or longer bookings

We looked long and hard, initially looking on the coast. But we decided it was too busy, noisy and expensive. So we thought if we cannot have a sea view, let us have a lake view ! Tick. Then we wanted quiet, but not isolated . Tick.

What makes this villa unique

The view really is stunning and unique. Apart from the few neighbouring properties of my dear friends, I have not seen a property with better views. All our guests say they could just sit for hours watching the lake and mountains change colour as the day progresses.

The lounge has new comfortable leather settees, one with reclining seats, wonderful for gazing out at the view through the new picture window. As we are keen cooks there are essentials like a BBQ, paella pan, olive oil and spices for your use in the separate well fitted kitchen. We enjoy eating most of our meals outside on one of the porches or the pergola looking at the amazing views. There is a large outdoor dining table and chairs and a lovely shady There is a small charcoal BBQ. Sun loungers and cushions are available. Ashtrays for use on the terrace are provided for guests who wish to smoke. The large area around the pool is fully tiled in terracotta. There is ample parking space. As the villa and terraces are all on one level it is accessible to wheelchairs, however, there is a very low step below each entrance door . Please ask for more info if required.

Such a lovely spacious villa ! Can't fault it in anyway, had everything you need, we didn't have to take our towels as they supplied them saving us the weight in our suitcases. Beds were made up on our arrival, so we stared our holiday straight away. It was so clean and fresh , and having three bathrooms was great .I will certainty be going back again .

Beautiful villa with stunning views

Had a very relaxing and peaceful stay at this lovely secluded (but not isolated) villa, with the stunning views across olive groves to Lake Vinuela. Very atmospheric at dusk when lights from villages started to twinkle and with the full moon over the lake, just beautiful. Good walks around the area, especially up to the hilltop village of Los Romanes and excellent lunches at Le Charco (Miguel's). We also enjoyed visit to Torre Del Mar, lots of great restaurants! Easy drive from Malaga with good roads and Eroski's particularly handy for supplies. All in all we had a very relaxed chilled out holiday.

The villa is on a hillside covered in olive trees facing Lake Vinuela and the Sierra Tejada and is under 2 minutes from the main road round the lake. Nearest village is Los Romanes, a 5 minute drive (or a 40 miinute hilly walk..) Malaga is just 45 minutes away. Lake Vinuela is one of Andalucia's best kept secrets and is unspoilt by mass tourism. The lake is a reservoir and is used for sailing, windsurfing, fishing but no motorised boats, thus ensuring tranquillity. There are two excellent 18 hole golf courses nearby, Bavaria Golf, 15 mins, and Club Anorets, 25 mins. You can also enjoy skiing in the Sierra Nevada.

The nearest beach resort is the typically Spanish resort of Torre del Mar, just over 15 minutes away. A wide promenade and a cycle path run alongside its sandy beach to the marina at Caleta. Nearby is a fabulous shopping complex, El Ingenio with a hypermarket, Eroski, dozens of other shops, a cinema, and restaurants. Also nearby is a large water park and go kart track. Nerja, with its famous caves, is 35 minutes away and Marbella and Fuengirola are 90 minutes away

Other Activities: This is a walkers paradise, with the National Park being one of fhe best known walking areas in Spain.

Golf: There are two excellent 18 hole golf courses nearby, Bavaria Golf, a 15 minute drive, and Club Anorets, 25 minutes drive. There are also many more courses along the coast. Why not visit off season when it is a lot more comfortable to play golf

Ski: The Ski village of Sierra Nevada is approximately 90 minutes drive from Lake Vinuela.There are nursery slopes and more challenging runs for experienced skiers - Sierra Nevada is one of the premier ski resorts in Europe. Equipment can be hired at very reasonable prices Don’t Ski ? Don't worry !! There is plenty here for everyone.

Soak up the mountain sun - take a dog sled trip through the mountains - take a cable car ride to the first station and be amongst the action.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars where you can sit and really absorb the atmosphere.

Children love it here - there are travelaters to carry them safely to the top of the beginners slopes. they can then ski back to mum and dad waiting at the bar/restaurant.

Plenty of good ski and winter sports shopping in the village. and there are vast underground car parks beneath the shops.

There is normally sufficient snow from November right through until late May.

We are flexible with changeover days and with times into and out of the villa, unless another party is due in imminently.. A 25% deposit is required at time of booking, and the balance is required two months before arrival date. A £100 refundable deposit is payable to cover any damage or breakages. It will be refunded after the villa has been inspected
