The peaceful country setting with amazing spa features, a rushing stream and a private cottage garden of your own!

You are welcomed by the bright red double door. As you enter, you get the feeling that you have stepped back in time. With its stone fireplace and high lofted ceilings in the sitting room it is a great room for conversation and games. Antiques fill the cottage with traditional and comfortable furniture as well. It is amazing to think of what this cottage has survived. It has truly come a long way from traditional Irish life to having the luxuries we dream of. There is a Jacuzzi tub and dishwasher as well as a bright red Aga stove so you can actually enjoy cooking. Truly an ideal place to call home while exploring the many treasures of CountyKerry. We do have WiFi and cable TV with many channels.
We welcome our guests with Irish treats including homemade bread.
We are just a short walk to Hughe's which is our local pub. The church and Kearney's small grocer are both next to Hughe's. Cottage Mary Rose is located in north Kerry. This makes Tralee and Killarney reachable in about 25 minutes. Also, County Cork is close to reaching the famed Blarney Castle is about an hour's drive.
We all need to escape and refresh our minds and souls. Being in nature and treating ourselves is the best medicine there is. Come, relax and enjoy the spa features and enjoy the beauty of the country, waiting to embrace you. We look forward to having you as our guest's.

Gorgeous cottage absolute bliss
Even these lovely photos don't do Cottage Mary Rose justice, it is superb, decorated beautifully and caretakers Denis and Eileen are such warm, friendly people that you are assured the warmest of welcomes. Can't wait to return one day soon, hopefully. Thank you !!

What a super place to stay in County kerry, we loved it 👍
We stayed here while doing a course at Gortbrack Organic Farm. We really loved it. The place has been really well restored and retains an old world charm but has the mod cons that make it very comfortable, and of course there's the hot tub. The garden is fantastic and has a huge decked area with a stream running by it. There also some lovely pathways around a mature and interesting traditional cottage garden. Credit to the owner for a wonderful restoration that can be enjoyed by those who stay there. Denis and Eileen are also lovely people to deal with during our stay. I can see why this place is popular. I hope we can come back again sometime in the future.

Amazing experience
We stayed in this delightful cottage for 4 nights, and we all wished it could have been for longer. This cottage has been lovingly restored and is in a beautiful spot in Cordal. Dennis and Eileen were fabulous hosts and William kindly responded to all my questions and concerns. It was an incredible experience to stay here, and to be woken by the sound of cows and crows. The hot tub was also a wonderful extra, particularly enjoyed by my kids. The cottage was very well equipped and spotless, the beds were comfortable and the en suite, though small, was very nicely done and much appreciated. There were 6 of us, and there was a good amount of space. We even went to the nearby pub one night, where everyone was very friendly. Nearly Castleisland (5km) has a couple of large grocery shops and restaurants. We felt this was an ideal location to explore County Kerry while the nearby Crag Cave (less than 10 mins away) was a great way to spend a couple of hours on a rainy morning. The time we spent there will be remembered for a long time, and I would go back in a heartbeat. I would give 6 out of 5 if I could.

My family is of Irish descent. Our first time to the Emerald Isle was in 1996. I fell in love with it as every one does and knew then that some day I would have a home there.........a Thatched Cottage. Being involved in architechture,I had always been fascinated in thatched roof cottages. When I purchased Cottage Mary Rose in 2000 I never realised how much I would fall in love with it. It is my true passion, named after my mother, Mary Rose Bowler, I wanted to share this amazing bit of Irish History with others....

Why they chose this property

I wanted a historic thatched cottage off of the beaten track but close enough to tourist attractions. I am an avid gardener and knew that this location was perfect for a great garden. There are fuschia & camelias every where! The stream was the frosting on the cake. So dramatic because of the ravine and rushing water below. The sound is so calming and tranquil. I preferred the small village of Cordal because you get a TRUE feel of the real Ireland instead of the touristy areas. I was happy enough with the Church and Kearney's Grocer.....I thought all it needed was a pub......my dream was answered and Hughes Pub was built by Sean Hughes a local Cordal lad in 2006. It is a beautiful pub and great for local gab, a great Pint and a game of pool. All with in a 5 minute walk. Our great cottage has stood the test of time. I love sharing this peice of Heaven with others.........

What makes this property unique

Cottage Mary Rose is a wonderful blend of a living bit of history. Add to this a Jacuzzi tub, rain shower and hot tub over looking a stream and you have it all. We even provide WiFi internet connection. Large kitchen which is wonderful for entertaining. The Heritage cooker is probably the best method of cooking food. Besides the Irish farm table there is also a front patio for dining and the deck where you can dine with the sounds of the peaceful stream and song of the birds. Nothing beats relaxing in the hot tub at the end of a long day while enoying the stars above...........absolute Heaven.............
