About this property

SNOWMOBILERS WELCOME - right on C8 trail, trailer parking available.

Located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in Croghan NY this Adirondack Vacation Rental destination is sure to please anyone!

The historic schoolhouse offers 3 relaxing bedrooms, 2 full bathroom, a full kitchen, reading alcove, and many guest amenities. With cherry hard-wood finishes and a spiral stair case highlighting the cathedral-ceilinged living room, this is not your average vacation cottage.

Care was taken to preserve the history of this building which at one time served as a church and later as a schoolhouse for Belfort. With a nod toward the history of the building, decorative glass windows were selected by the architect and the original flooring was restored to a new shine. In addition modern comforts like radiant in-floor heating and solar thermal domestic hot-water were implemented to meld the old and new in a complimentary way.

Just 1.5 hours north of Utica and 2 hours from Syracuse the Old Belfort Schoolhouse offers a quiet respite from the modern world. For those seeking a get-away that is something different than the crowds of Old Forge, this accessible Adirondack vacation rental offers wonderful access to the best of the Adirondacks with the comforts of a beautiful home to stay in.

Place was great. Location not what we expected
Amazing home and well appointed and clean. We were looking for a home in the adirondacks on the water for kayaking and floating (pond or lake). This was not exactly the nature getaway we were seeking. Hosts were super helpful and made our trip enjoyable though.
