The apartment is a converted old convent/stables in the middle of Antibes with bags of character and charm. The spacious ground floor apartment with a floor area of 160m2 (1740ft) has 3 double bedrooms (master room with en suite, second double room and a walk through room with pull out twin beds sharing a second bathroom) sleeping 6, also with a sofa bed. Luxury kitchen (fitted with new Smeg & Villeroy and Bosch appliances) with breakfast bar; TV, HiFi, satellite & DVD. The apartments internal patio (27m2) is a safe area for children or for relaxing in the cool shade. Also there's an enclosed external court yard providing tranquil outlook. Private and secure underground parking is included.

Wonderful Holiday in a Super Apartment

A lovely apartment in the old part of Antibes, with all facilities close by. On arrival the apartment was clean and all necessities catered for by the Housekeepers.

Bed linen was laundered and fresh and although the apartment does not have air conditioning there were plenty of fans to keep it cool, which were more than adequate. We were a party of 5 and found the apartment was very spacious and child friendly. Extra linen was available for a nominal fee. We booked our holiday direct with the owners, who were very helpful and friendly and answered any questions we had promptly. Shops, restaurants and the beach were on the doorstep. We are looking into booking again for a longer stay next time!

Stingy owners

After 2 months waiting for the refund of our deposit we finally feel free to post our review:

If you just get off a plane and expect to go places don't assume you can just settle in. Be prepared to go out immediately and buy a whole host of things as this apartment does not supply the most minimum of provisions such as trash bags, new bars of soap, toilet paper, kitchen rags,toilet air freshner, sponges. Beach towels you must either buy youself or rent from the owner for 10Eur each, as well as extra linen, in case you want to take a nap in the "third bedroom" (as the second bedroom becomes a sauna in the afternoon)

All together the paucity of these basic provisions and the way they were dealt with after advising, bordered on niggardly for what should have been a welcoming introduction to Antibes.

Nevertheless the apartment is well located in the centre of the old town and is in walking distance for most things. It is a two bedroom/den situation with underground parking and good internet. There is no air conditioning but several fans to help make things less uncomfortable (except the second bedroom that can just not be used from noon till the evening). The kitchen island is well spaced although the kitchen chairs are somewhat inexpensive and non ergonomic.The living room is reasonably appointed with doors to an outdoor pond area to allow fresh air to come in.

The evening before our departure we were advised by e-mail that the apartment had to be empty the next day by 10am. Neither we had been told so before, nor did the contract say so. The day of our arrival we had been in by 3pm, so we replied that we wouldn't mind if they had to start cleaning earlier, but that we would want to stay at least until noon. The owner insisted that we had to be out by 10am and suggested that we could enjoy our remaining time "shopping and visiting the marked place." (Thanks for that, but we had been there for a 4 weeks french immersion, so we knew pretty well when and how to enjoy our time)

Owner's Response: Found this person extremely rude and disrespectful to my Housekeepers and latterly myself. From the start, these 2 boys caused problems, payment was delayed, and not received in full with no explanation. They were offered extra linens but chose not to pay for them, all basics are there on arrival and supplied by the housekeeper, but this guest demanded supplies of everything for the whole week from our Housekeepers in a very demanding manner, he obviously expected hotel service, it is a holiday apartment with an abundance of supermarkets on the doorstep. Our housekeepers are more than happy to supply most extras at cost! Their refund was delayed because their payment was through an intermediary bank via Germany to US to Caymen Islands and the codes did not fit so was rejected by our bank several times! No fault of ours and P knew this, very slow in responding. Very unpleasant guest with an unfortunate attitude. Check-in and check out clear in booking details so he chose not to read them. Very bitter indeed with no reasonable grounds for complaint.

Great Location - Need new appliances

The apartment is very conveniently situated to playgrounds/shops/coast. We were a party of 6 with 3 children and it was very easy to get around. The apartment was pleasant, but I have to echo one of the other reviews - the owner was very adament that max capacity was 6, not more. I also have to note that the furniture - beds, sofas, chairs were all rather used and uncomfortable. During our stay we had issues with the stovetop, oven and the dishwasher. When we called the mgmt company about the dishwasher they expressed this was a known issue, but somehow allowed to remain (a repair man was sent). The DVD player was also not functional. Finally, although the courtyard was lovely, we were informed after the booking that the building did not allow anyone to sit out there or play - this was clearly frustrating to the kids! It would be helpful if this were clarified upfront in the listing.

Owner's Response: It is our holiday home! Never had any complaints ever about the furnishings and the mattresses are all new! Sofas are very comfortable!!! Hard to understand this at all and no personal feedback to go on. Dishwasher in working order and if there was problem then the engineer is called. All appliances are checked and in full working order. Outside area is not a playground, it is quite space for residents, otherwise too many children running around would spoil the tranquillity. There are parks immediately opposite the apartment for children to play and run.

Absolutely great location, nice apartment

The location of the apartment was ideal, as shops/beach/restaurants were only a couple of minutes away on foot. There are lots of residential areas in Antibes, but they wouldn't have the charm of this place. Again, ideal location.

We have stayed in other parts of the Riviera (Italian and French) and found Antibes is a great place to stay.

The apartment was more than satisfactory. Very large, with comfortable furniture. The kitchen was clean....the fridge was somewhat small, but no problem if you're buying items on a daily basis. The bathrooms were clean, but I think glass would be a wise investment in place of the shower curtain. Also, the tiles need to be re-grouted, but that's just a maintenance thing.

The "covered patio" is somewhat useless, as it is full of dust and fronts onto a main road. It doesn't really serve a purpose (maybe a ping pong table/games room would help?).

The courtyard is nice, but you can't really hang around out there, so it's use is limited, too. Though, I should mention that it was nice to open the windows for fresh air and listen to the fountains.

Underground parking was great. We had a car and used it for some day trips.

There's a supermarket just steps away. As I mentioned before, the location is fantastic.

We were travelling with our 6 month old son, and it was great to have a high chair and travel crib (travel cot for Brits) supplied. Jo and Mark (property managers) were very helpful, and Jill (owner) was great to deal with. We booked at the last minute, and she was quite accommodating and available to respond to our questions.

We would stay here again, without a doubt.

Also, make sure you eat at "La Tour Antique" in Old Antibes. It was absolutely fabulous. "Le Cameo" makes a great Nicoise salad for a light lunch. So many other great spots, but those two stand out.

Great location but buyer beware

This is indeed a well furnished modern apartment in a great location in Old Antibes. But it is advertised on the owner's website as accommodatibg 6+2. This is inaccurate. The owner usually only allows 6 persons even if some of the party are babies or children. It is also advertised as a 3 bedroom apartment and again this is inaccurate. To get to one of the double bedrooms you have to pass through the twin bedroom. Hence we had the embarrassing situation of my sister-in-law's boyfriend having to walk through my mother-in-law's bedroom everytime he wanted to access his room. When we complained that this was not made clear to us, we were told there are architectural plans of their property on their website. The apartment was also extremely dusty on our arrival. My son who crawls had literally black hands and knees within the first hour of our arrival. I expected better service for a "luxury apartment".

Antibes is one of the best towns on the Cote D’Azur, both in terms of geographical location, architecture and feel.

Antibes old town is lovely offering a range of shops and quality restaurants in a traditional relaxed setting. The Picasso museum in Antibes and the ramparts offer excellent panoramic views of the sea, and display the artistic and architectural history of the town.

Antibes is a magnet of Yachting industry in the South of France: its marinas display some of the most spectacular boats in Europe.

Other attractions include Marineland (a water based theme park, funfair and aqua zoo) and the historic Napoleonic fort of Fort Carre.

Approx. a 1.5hr drive away is the resort of Isola 2000 that is best suited for the intermediate skier and offers immaculate pisted runs ranging from beginner blues to a couple of challenging black routes. Isola village offers a wide range of accommodation
