Tony’s apartment was a reasonable, if not perfect, place to spend 2 weeks. The property was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully put together to a high standard. The standout feature of this property is definitely the private pool which is stunning and lovely to enjoy. However, as other reviewers have noted, Tony and his wife live upstairs. While they were very friendly and accommodating you should note: 1. The apartment’s air-conditioning is limited to use between 12-6.30pm. The apartment is very well insulated and gets the full brunt of the afternoon sun. Needless to say it gets very hot at night. 2. There are frogs right outside the apartment which live in a purpose built pond. They look nice but, at least in June/July, they croak loudly at night which can be disturbing while you try to sleep. 3. The apartment does not have its own washing machine, you need to ask that it be done upstairs in their main house and this is a chargeable service. In our case we selected this place on the basis that access to a (we assumed self-service) washing machine was included so we felt a bit disappointed by this. 4. Most of the plugs in the apartment are all fitted out to a (three pronged) Swiss specification, rather than the normal EU/Portuguese format. Tony was able to offer us an adaptor but it wasn’t ideal for us personally. 5. The internet connection is fast but the signal can be patchy, especially in the bedroom. Overall, it wasn’t a bad stay but it isn’t somewhere we’ll be coming back to either.
