Country Heaven
We had a gorgeous and peaceful stay at Miss Emma’s home ❤️ she is a wonderful host and a lovely lady. She treated us like family. Her home was so beautiful and quiet and we loved sitting on the porch swing every night. What a step back in time! And the beautiful, old oak trees in the yard! Come stay with Miss Emma!❤️

Cajun Country Home
We had a wonderful stay. Emmaline, Charlie and Michael were excellent hosts. They were always available for any questions about the property. They had a wealth of knowledge about the area and the state of Louisiana. The country setting was great. Yet it was close to town for groceries, shopping, restaurants, entertainment, etc. They truly made us feel welcome and at home. MERCI BEAUCOUP!

Family Celebration
The property was just as it was advertised. Beautiful home, full of antiques and well placed decorative pieces. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The hostess was a delight to meet and we felt as though we had made a new friend. She welcomed us with Cajun hospitality treating us to homemade chicken salad sandwiches and carrot cake. The fridge was stocked with cold drinks and water . I have stayed at many other vacation homes ,but this was the first time I felt so welcomed by the host. I recommend this place .The area around this home is a great place to explore the outdoors and to learn more about Louisiana history.

Home sweet home
What can I say other than Miss Emmaline and her beautiful home was over and above what we could have asked for. Emmaline takes southern hospitality to another level through her kind heart and what I would call love in action which means she practices what she preaches in an expression of her kind heart. She is my friend and we could not have had a better experience in Cajun country, her heart is in her home and you can feel it. Nothing was left undone, and everything we needed was provided, if I could give it 10 stars I would, Thank you miss Emmaline for a once in a lifetime overall wonderful Cajun experience!

Outstanding in every way!
My family was attending a four day Festival in Lafayette. This home was perfect for us to get away from city crowds, yet close enough to make for an easy drive. The property was beautiful, charming, and relaxing. The host was very responsive throughout our stay, and had even left us cake and sandwiches. This so far has been my favorite rental property, and I travel quite a bit, so that says a lot!

Host profile image
I am a direct descendant of the original Acadian people. My ancestors were deported from Nova Scotia to France. The Spanish government transported Acadian exiles from France to Louisiana on the ship 'Le Saint Remi,' and it arrived in Louisiana on September 9, 1785. I was raised in a family of seven children . Since I was the oldest girl I helped my parents with the younger children, and helped in the family business. In high school I was a cheerleader, a band member, and in l960 I was crowned the 1st Crawfish Queen. I love Cajun music, singing (Acadiana French Choir for twenty years) cooking, gardening, and flower arranging. I have four beautiful children and twelve grandchildren. I love speaking in French, and meeting people.

Why they chose this property

In June 1985, my Mother gave me two and a half acres of property that belonged to her grandfather, Renee Chauffe, Sr. It was through the grace of God that I stumbled onto an old house built by Andre' Boudreaux in 1935. I was taken by surprise when in the house there was a picture of Christ as the High Priest holding "the Chalice and the Eucharist" and it said,'"Christ Wants Your Heart.'" I knew instantly that this house was very special, and in 1989 I began remodeling it with the understanding that one day I would love to tell my story of how the Lord played such an important role in my life.
I am so proud of my Acadian heritage and so thankful that my mother and father gave me a piece of history and today it is my privilege to invite guest to feel the peace and tranquility of 'La Petite Voie de St.Therese.'

What makes this property unique

It is with true devotion that I invite you to 'La Petite Voie' de St. Therese knowing full well that you will feel the Spirit of Peace, Love, Serenity, and Understanding. The home accommodates 6 people comfortably with a precious full kitchen, and a lovely dining area. The living area, bedrooms, and bath are enhanced with antique furnishings and allows one to feel that they are taken back in history. A small box of Coty Powder is placed on the bedroom vanity exactly like I remember it in the Chauffe Plantation House. The foyer and the living area is really quite charming and there you will enjoy satellite TV, Wifi, music video, and Acadian books (Deportation of Acadians from Nova
Scotia) to read. Guest will definitely feel comfortable on the outdoor wrap around porch with a swing, cypress rockers, and sofa sitting areas. A unique cypress piece is the outside cistern that preserves water for watering the plants.
There is statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that comes from the Convent in Grand Coteau and a statue of St. Therese, my patron saint, from my RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) class. The azalea bushes in the springtime are beautiful and the live oak trees are so stately and are always bursting with beauty. There are pecan, golden rain, red tip maple, magnolia, red bud, dogwood, and Bradford pears trees that are waiting to greet you when you come to visit. It will be a pleasure to welcome you into my home with heartfelt gratitude.
Come share an experience of Cajun Country Hospitality.
and a retreat away from home.
