About this property

Couples Cabin w/King Bed, Wi-Fi, Hot Tub, & Grill in WNC Mtns

This spacious cabin has a comfortable living area with an oversized sofa and recliner, an HD Smart TV, central heat and A/C, plus a REAL wood burning stove for cold winter nights.

The roomy bedroom has a king size bed with a pillow-top mattress. A recently renovated bathroom includes a step-in shower along with a raised vanity and toilet. There's even a washer and dryer in the cabin so you can pack lightly.

If you don't plan to eat out, there is a grill just steps from the kitchen back door, and the cabin's well-equipped full-size kitchen, with dining area, has lots of space and all the essentials needed to prepare, cook, and serve your favorite meals.

With a dedicated workspace and reliable fiber optic internet, you can work remotely and truly enjoy your free time surrounded by nature.

Offering year-round access, our property is just 10 miles from the historic town of Hot Springs, NC and its namesake resort-spa with the naturally hot mineral water baths. Hot Springs is a picturesque mountain town straddling the French Broad River, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Pisgah National Forest. It also has the distinction of being the only North Carolina town the Appalachian Trail passes through. There are a few restaurants, a trendy brewery and tap room, a couple of eclectic gift shops, an art gallery, and an old-time family run hardware store--but you won't find a traffic light or a fast-food restaurant.

If you want to get out and explore, the city of Asheville, where you can tour the Biltmore Estate, and the quaint towns of Marshall, Waynesville, and Weaverville are each about a 45-minute drive. Inside the cabin you will find a binder with hiking trails for all skill levels, things to do, sights to see, and restaurants and stores. After a day of hiking, rafting, or exploration come back to relax in the rocking chairs on the porch, reminisce around the fire pit about the days’ adventures, or sooth those tired muscles with a soak in the luxurious 2-person hot tub!

LOCATION: This cabin is located at the top of a private, gravel, single-lane road, approximately 1/3 mile from the paved road. Although our gravel road is well-maintained it has a steady incline and may be difficult for motorcycles. A vehicle is necessary and 4-wheel drive/all-wheel drive is recommended during the winter months.

CONFIRMATION: With your payment in full, you will receive an email from our business that includes the cabin address, detailed directions, lockbox code for the cabin key, and other information useful for planning your trip. Please check your spam folder if you do not find the email.

ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATIONS: We have two 1-bedroom/1-bathroom rental cabins (with no shared spaces), approximately 100ft apart, plus our home about 150ft away, centered in a clearing on a 7+ acre property. Other travelers may be present during your stay. If you would like additional information you can search Vrbo listings #497797 and #1287393 or send an inquiry message.

Honeymoon trip
This cabin was just as described. So clean and well appointed. The only thing that we had to bring was our food and clothing, everything else was provided. We were looking for a quiet spot to unwind after the hussle of the wedding and we received just that. The hot tub was right out the back door and we made full use of it. We will definitely return to this cabin. Thank you so much.

They thought of everything
We loved the location, the view, the perfect size. We only stayed the one night & we brought food that wouldn't take much to fix. I was surprised to see that they provided a variety of spices & cooking oil. They had board games, 2 TVs with cable & streaming apps, wood stove, washer & dryer, toiletries & soaps. They even provide a large umbrella at the door & several different chairs outside to enjoy the view. If you are looking for a place in the middle of no where but with an awesome view then this is the place. We loved the hot tub.

Wonderful Place in NC Mountains
What a great weekend stay in your well-equipped little, but spacious cabin! Plenty of room to spread out both indoors and outdoors. Cabin was clean and meticulously maintained. The hot tub was relaxing and invigorating and the bed was very comfortable. I only wish the last weekend of winter had been colder as I would have liked to have had a fire in the wood stove. Plenty of information about things to do in the local area and great communications from our hosts. So glad we were able to make it here after having to postpone our trip from last year. 5 stars!!!

About the host

Hosted by Jeanne and John McDaniel

Host profile image
After living in cities on the east coast for 30+ years, John and I began looking for a "getaway" place where we would eventually retire to: a quiet area but within an hour’s drive of a city, not too far from family, and somewhere we could enjoy all four seasons.

Why they chose this property

John found this property; it had a couple of existing cabins so there was room for our family and friends to stay, too. We bought the property in late 2013.

At first, we would make the drive about once a month, spending a long weekend with family or friends, to explore, relax, and de-stress. Soon we were coming more often, and eventually several times a month. Each time we were here, we didn’t want to leave—it is so beautiful and peaceful. We put our house in the city up for sale… and began building a log cabin here, which we moved into in October 2017.

What makes this property unique

Today, as we look out on the clear blue skies, the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and Pisgah National Forest surrounding us, and to the creek and old farm valley below, we know we made the right decision and are very happy to be living here.

We hope you too will have the opportunity to experience how relaxing and rejuvenating a stay in these mountains can be!
