I cannot speak highly enough of my holiday at The Heights. The location was just perfect for me - close to all the amenities of Rodney Bay, but set far enough away that it is quiet in the evenings. The views are also absolutely spectacular. The suite itself was spotless, immaculately maintained and very well equipped. I travelled with my 1 year old son, an exception to the usual rules, as the suites are really aimed at couples, but Gale & Hector could not have been more accommodating and helpful. We fell into a routine of an early morning splashabout in the pool, then nap time for the munchkin, which gave me the opportunity to take advantage of the pool side sunbeds & hammock, catch some sun and relax on my own before heading out for the day. I chose to rent a car for convenience, & I think I would have struggled to negotiate the hill with the buggy each day, but I without children, it would be quite feasible to manage without a car. We spent a lot of time at various beaches, if you like a busier beach with all tourist amenities then Reduit Beach is a good shout, or alternatively the beach at Pigeon Point is a more local beach, and is my preference. It is well worth taking the trip down to Soufriere, Anse La Reye and also over to Marigot Bay - I found my own way there with no problem, but Gale & Hector are always on hand to arrange trips for you if you prefer a guide. There are tons of other great places to visit too, & there are numerous informative brochures etc in the suite to refer to.
With regard to eating out, there are numerous places to eat in Rodney Bay, & in fact all over the island. The Coal Pot at Vigie is lovely for a treat, but I equally enjoyed the small local cook shops in the more out-of-the-way areas, where you can get a really tasty, hearty meal for 10-16 EC.
The daily maid service is a lovely luxury to have, it is a real treat to come home to an immaculate room at the end of the day. Travelling with a young child meant I was glad to have the laundry service too, and although I noticed an earlier review thought the service was expensive at 40 EC, it is worth noting that the laundromat in Rodney Bay charges 50 EC, plus 25 EC for a spin dry, so I personally think the dried and folded service offered by RBS is a positive bargain!
I really can't fault our stay at RBS, I thought 3 weeks would be long enough, but I'm already planning the next trip! Thank you Gale and Hector for a lovely stay, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
