Thoughtfully decorated in rich earthy tones, the space naturally grounds you allowing you to slip effortlessly into holiday mode.

Inside
With 3 spacious oversized bedrooms, there's plenty of room for all 6 guests to relax and spread out. The bay window reading nook, cosy couches and two verandahs provide endless spaces to retreat to or cuddle up on, while the wood fire warms the heart as much as the space. There is one reverse cycle unit to ensure temperatures are always comfortable and heaters in every room.

The generous sized kitchen allows for everyone to pitch in and help for the best shared cooking and dining experience. If cooking isn't you're thing, we are located just 350m from the Forrest Brewery and general store. You really are in the heart of Forrest here.

With two clean and spacious bathrooms there will be no arguing over who gets the first both can or why not enjoy a deep warm bath after a big day of riding. All towels, hand towels and face washers are provided, as well as natural body wash.

The house is tastefully decorated in a mid century modern aesthetic with warm earthy colours and textures. Natural light saturates every room of the house, bringing the outdoors in. This truly is the perfect place to call home for a few days.

Outside
The grounds are home to bucket loads of wild life, including a pair of black cocktoos and a loveable and curious echidna. Depending on the time of year you visit, wondering around the property you will find mature fruit trees and secluded grassy areas for relaxing or watching the kids play. The space is fully fenced so your pet is safe outdoors. The land is clean and pesticide free.

Parking is plentiful with undercover and outdoor options available.

Very enjoyable

Only one fault and not a big one was the amount of dead flies on the floor when we arrived and the rear door mat had disintegrated into soil and was getting trodden through the house FYI. Had a fantastic time in your beautiful house and would highly recommend it thank you

Beautiful

What a beautiful property! We had such a relaxing time! The house is surrounded by trees, there were stunning roses in the garden and we even had a koala come to visit! It is a short walk to the delicious brewery and chocolate cafe. Lake Elizabeth is close by and absolutely stunning. We will definitely be back!

A lover of both the country and ocean I spend my time between two of the most beautiful locations in the world. A mum of 2 gorgeous girls and a beautiful border collie dog I made my dream come true of owning a beautiful home in Forrest in 2017. After reading the children’s book “on my farm” something stirred inside me and the desire to connect with a country community and give my kiddies a taste of country life was borne. Creating a lovely balance of ocean and country has been very nourishing for myself and family and it’s been a delight to share this with others through Airbnb.
A lover of nature, friends, family and food. A true Cancerian.

Why they chose this property

For me Forrest is one of the most beaufitul and undiscovered places in Victoria. There's so much to do in this little town. I came to the area over 15 years ago and fell in love with Lake Elizabeth the first time I saw it, there is something truly magical about the place. In 2017 I was lucky enough to buy this property and make a dream come true.

What makes this property unique

People that come to The Gathering House say it's so peaceful, relaxing and feels like home. As you arrive at the property it's set back off the road and straight away you get a sense of seclusion and serenity. What drew me to the property was how solid and safe it feels and I love that no matter what window you look out of you see beautiful tall trees and it really does feel like an escape.
