About this property

From the master bedroom you can open your eyes and see the Matterhorn. You can take in the view and tranquillity without feeling or being cut-off. Magical for a couple but also perfect for good friends or a close family, with enough resources to feel comfortable. The second bedroom has bunk beds and further pull out mattress beneath if you have three children. (An additional mattress is also there if you really want to squeeze in little people - a baby cot is also under the bed in the master bedroom). Duvets and pillows are provided. Bed linen and towels can be provided at extra charge of chf25 pppn. The main living area is open plan, and incorporates a lounge area, dining area and stylish and fully equipped new kitchen, with dishwasher, microwave , oven etc. There is a large corner sofa, which doubles as a sofa bed or movie buff zone, with the flat screen TV and range of DVDs and PS2. All the rooms open out onto the large balcony with table and chairs and a gas BBQ and the morning sun, but mainly its the impressive 180º views of the Val d’Herens across to the Matterhorn or across towards Crans Montana and Rhone valley. With the ski shop and locker next door and the ski bus stopping right outside, life couldn't be easier for the skier. Tourist information next door is great all year. It's an all round superb location for those who love the mountains at any time of year but with easy access to Geneva or Sion and the Valais.

Stunning views and homely apartment close to lifts

My daughter and I had a lovely stay in Claudia’s apartment. The skiing at Les Collons is superb and the chair lift is a 10-15 minute walk, although the ski bus stops right outside the apartment. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay and being able to have a swim and sauna after a day on the slopes was a real luxury.. The panoramic view of the Matterhorn and other mountains from the apartment is incredible.

Great flat, good location.

Really good communication with Claudia made the stay easy. Many thanks for the help afterward also! Loved the view, the balcony and the pool. Good part of the 4 valles to stay in. The only small room for improvement would be the kitchen, where a little decluttering would help.

A wonderful cosy gem!

We had a lovely stay at Claudias apartment! Beautiful views and a cosy romantic place to hideaway. Perfect for a couple or small family. Couldn’t rate it higher. The ski lift is only a short walk, and the skiing area was fantastic and provided for all abilities. We look forward to returning soon!

Great Week in the Swiss Alps in Summer

We stayed as a family of 4, with 2 children aged 7 and 9 during a lovely sunny week. We all thought the apartment was fantastic and Claudia was really helpful with plenty of advice on where to visit and how to get there (very easy with our Sat Nav). Best of all was the view, which opens out onto the Herrens Valley and includes the north side of the Matterhorn We really packed a lot into our week and even then we could have stayed for another. There is so much to see and do within an hour or so of driving. Lake Geneva, water parks, mountain valleys (including the Matterhorn, Grand St Bernard Pass, Lotschental, Leukerbad and more), medieval towns and cities, roman ruins, ski resorts, vineyards, cable cars, and everything else you would expect from a stay in the Swiss Alps. Kids were also really happy to have acces to a PS2 and childrens DVD's which made up for the pool being renovated (which wasn't a problem for us - check out the outdoor thermal spa's instead!) Thank you for a great week!

Why they chose this property

The great view surpassed any other we had seen in the Alps. We had searched in France and Bulgaria and we never found a two bedroom which was so well designed and such a great view, even though it is slightly smaller than we originally looked for we loved it as a lock up and leave pied a terre for the mountains. Being ground floor and near the shops we also thought we could be old here, even though we are some way off retirement!

What makes this property unique

Not so many apartment blocks have a small pool and sauna in the basement so high in the mountains, that's an added benefit which the kids in particular love.
The place is very accessible - you could, timetable dependent, and more easily child free, get to the apartment on public transport if you had to; the Sion bus stops virtually outside and the train station in Sion comes from Geneva or Milan. Being only 20 minutes up from Sion, makes it quite useful if you don't like a long transfer (which I don't personally like too much on windy mountain roads), so that's very civilized in my view!
