About this property

Downtown Denver Victorian Italianate 1-Bedroom Apartment

This rare Italianate-style 1884 built home was stripped to the walls for a total interior re-design and modernization.

The structure boasts 3-sided turret window bays, intricate brick work, high ceilings and a beautiful redwood deck with magnificent views of downtown.

Located near the 5-Points/Curtis Park historic district, it sits just 4 blocks from the Central Business District and just over 2 blocks from the light rail station. Just a 15 minute walk to the 16th street mall makes all of lower downtown easily accessible.

A perfect stay for anyone attending events at the Denver Convention Center - ride the light rail right to the front door!

Prominent antique features highlight the interior design, such as stained glass windows and unique decorative stair guard of a historic Larimer Square railroad building. Marble tile salvaged from the Brown Palace Hotel adorns the bathroom floor and walls.

A thoughtful marriage of modern design with vintage accents, the renovation involved painstaking restoration of original vintage trim work to complement contemporary features.

Comforts include Dish satellite 120-Plus, large flat screen TV, High-speed wireless Internet, stereo speakers in each room, steam shower and central air conditioning.

A fully stocked European-style kitchen with high-end appliances makes cooking your meals a pleasure.

The atmosphere of this apartment is enchanting. Located on a quiet, seldom trafficked street provides for a comfortable neighborhood feel. Morning light pours through bay windows lighting the living room and kitchen areas. Evening sunsets light up downtown skyscrapers viewed from the outdoor deck.

The apartment sleeps up to 4 persons, with 2 in the bedroom queen-sized bed and 2 on the living room sofa-bed.

Guests are provided independent access to the apartment at any time for check-in and throughout the course of stay by key provided in lock-box at the front door.

Great place to stay in Denver
We stayed 2 nights in Gary’s lovely apartment. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. From the easy parking (with free permit) to the comfy beds and powerful shower, all was perfect. Fully equipped kitchen almost made us want to cook but too many good restaurants in Denver for that. We also enjoyed a nice sunny evening out on the decking with the exterior music system. The apartment is in a very quiet residential street but it’s a short walk to supermarket, bars and a couple of restaurants. For the rest we used Uber to get downtown at the grand cost of $11 inc tip.

Convenient stay in a Victorian home w/character
Gary was a consummate host.. very responsive and detailed I his instructions. My boyfriend and I stayed in Denver for 3 days, and this home was a nice base for us in a central location. We enjoy staying in old homes when we travel, and the second floor of this Victorian home was pleasant.

Host profile image
I am a second-generation Italian-American Denver native raised in Denver's North Berkley neighborhood.

I have a background in civil engineering and worked by profession as a Geographic Information Specialist in Asia for 15 years. After returning to the US I embarked on a 3-year, painstaking renovation of the Tremont Place House.

From my time overseas I gained an appreciation for Asian style and art, which is reflected in my home renovation design and decor.

Why they chose this property

I felt compelled to preserve this 130-year old house of rare architectural style to save a part of Denver's early history.

I treasure Denver's old neighborhoods and beautiful home architecture, which was a driving force in the passionate restoration this house.

I have a connection to the neighborhood from my childhood, from the time I would play in the back-yard of my Aunt's Curtis Park home just blocks away.

What makes this property unique

The location of this apartment puts you a stone's throw away from all the convenience and action of downtown while on vacation.

The apartment's proximity to the central business district also makes it ideal for the business traveler.

From the light rail station just over 2 blocks away, you can travel the extent of Denver's public transportation with ease and forgo the use of a car entirely. If you ride a bike, you can rent one from the B-Cycle public bike kiosk less than 2 blocks away. Shopping, bars and restaurants of Downtown and the 16th Street Mall are just a 15-minute walk away.

The location's convenience and popularity earn a Walk Score of 86 out of 100 at Walkscore. Close by with easy access are the Botanic Gardens, Convention Center, Pepsi Center, Mile-high Stadium, Coors Field, 16th Street Mall, Larimer Square, City Park, Museum of Natural History, Denver Zoo, Denver Art Museum, State Capital, and all of downtown.

From the light rail, you are just 5 minutes from the Denver Convention Center and central downtown.

A major grocery store, fast-food, liquor store, and other small shops are located in a complex just 3 blocks away.
